I’ve beaten Kirby 64 multiple times on the N64 but I just recently played this on Switch. I notice some of the music is the same and many of the abilities work the same way. We’re these two games made around the same time or is Kirby 64 a sequel or something?

yes Kirby 64 is a direct sequel, Kirby 2, Kirby 3 and Kirby 64 are their own little subseries

this game is really pretty and i like it a lot

I agree the art style is very nice.
What about Kirby’s Dreamland 1? Are there any after 64 that continue the Dark Matter Story?

Nope. Dark Matter makes cameos but isn't part of the story in later games.

yea, but mostly just laziness

Dude i found this game at work about 2 weeks ago (i work in trash collecting)

I disagree, I'd say return to dreamland could be a sort of follow-up to 64 and the true ending of Star Allies wraps up the dark matter conflict definitively

Its Kirby m8 why are you so hung up on the story

Did you really? Or are you calling this game trash? It’s late and I’ve drank a bit

Not really hung up, just curious. I have a lot of nostalgia for Kirby 64 and wasn’t aware there was another game that had Adeliene or Dark Matter before 64.

No i really did, i think they were evicted so they threw out a bag with consoles and games

Are you really asking if Kirby 64 was made around the same time as a SNES game?

Wow, you found all of those games?? That’s a great haul

2, 3, and 64 were all directed by the same guy. That's why they share so many things.

Damn, they had some pretty good tastes.

Thanks! I have the consoles scattered on my table right now but there was a genesis, nes, snes, and dreamcast with games for all. The kirby game was the best score

Dark Matter doesn't show up until DL2 (which is a spectacular game). DL1 is a very short game where you just fight DeDeDe.

IMO DL2 is worth a play. Got it on the 3DS e-shop when it was on sale and it was a great time, with a very hype (and surprisingly tough) final boss.

That’s amazing. Can’t believe someone just threw all that out. There’s probably hundreds of dollars in all that stuff.

some other gems

Lucky!

thanks! i knew collecting trash for a dead end job would pay off

Don't jinx it, there could always be more dark mattresses sealed away if the Master Crown and Void are anything to go by

64 is a direct sequel to Dreamland 3.

2, 3, and 64 is the "Dark Matter Trilogy". Planet Robobot could also be seen as a sequel to Super Star.

test

howdy

When are we getting dream land 1 and 2 on switch?fucking nintendo

If they ever do Game Boy Nintendo Switch Online which would be pretty rad

It was released really late on SNES life time also, so yeah it was made along with 64 already

If Game Boy NSO were happening they wouldn't have made a full Link's Awakening remake for $60.

That's not really the case, it's just that they haven't officially killed the 3DS yet and that has GB games. They even advertised the VC release of Link's Awakening a while back and said you can play that while waiting for the remake.

Dark matter will never be wrapped up to me until we fight Zer0 again

>not even gonna get snes games on a regular schedule now
>game boy/gamecube games out of sight
Fuck nintendo

Sakurai was the director for Dream Land 1, Adventure, and Super Star.
Shimomura was the director for Dream Land 2, Dream Land 3, and 64. These games form a trilogy, predominantly over Dark Matter which is the main antagonist, though they feature some other things to bind them together, such as the animal buddies and Adeleine.
Sakurai's games and Shimomura's games were developed at the same time as each other, and are completely unrelated to each other outside of being in the Kirby series. So yeah, that means DL1 is completely unrelated to 2 and 3. And to answer your question, yes, 64 is a sequel to DL3.

>Are you really asking if Kirby 64 was made around the same time as a SNES game?
The SNES was a huge budget console in Japan in the late 90s, for those who didn't have the money for a Gen 5 console. Games were still coming out for it that late.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 came out in 1999 for example, so it's likely that Kirby 64, a 2000 game, was in development at the same time.

Why do retards think "no regular schedule" = slow trickle of games? They may just release multiple games in one month randomly.

Star Allies conclues the plot in a very subtle way. Just read boss descriptions and 100% the game by beating the hardest boss rush mode.

Dreamland 1 -> Adventure -> Super Star

Dreamland 2 -> Dreamland 3 -> 64

Retard NES kirby is a reincarnated void (Like Uub from dbz) and you can't convince me otherwise.
