Does Yea Forums like the joy-cons or the switch pro controller better?
Does Yea Forums like the joy-cons or the switch pro controller better?
they're both shit
I use the Wii U Pro with a dongle
personally cant wait for this to come out
I don't have a Switch who wouldn't prefer the pro controller over the joy cons?
Pro controller. I just wish dpad wasn't shit. My only issue with it.
Joycons for portable,
Switch Pro for most games.
Gamecube Controller for Smash
Pokken Pad for 2d platformers.
I like Nintendo's Controllers.
I use this more than the pro since I don't use amiibos
Pro controller by a universe mile
I would never use the joy cons outside of portable mode.
Joy cons? More like goy-cons. Pro controller all day everyday.
Pro Controller. I only really use the joycons in portable mode, though they're not exactly comfortable, and if I'm playing a JRPG and feel like being lazy. I had trouble imagining myself play shit like Bayonetta with the fucking joy-cons.
I loved using joy-cons just to splay myself all over the couch before they crunked out on me. Since then I've been using the pro.
>no wireless
I'll pass, you can't even use gyro even though it's physically attached and DXM supports it.
how's the dpad, friend?
works good with fighters?
i haven't willingly used my joycons since i've gotten my pro
mostly the reason i bought it, haven't tried it with fighters tho
Why do you need wireless for something designed to be used in handheld mode? No gyro is lame, but gyro is garbage in handheld mode anyway, so again it's no big deal.
I thought they were okay when I first got them but lately I've actually been using my switch a fair amount with a Wii U Pro and I've come to the conclusion that they're actually pretty awful, pretty much every aspect of it is either mediocre or flat out bad compared to every other notable and recent controller.
>enjoy playing handheld mode in bed
>R button started to be fucky lately, sometimes it registers, sometimes not
>makes using sub weapons in Splatoon and grabbing in Smash a pain in the ass
This.
But I barely play in portable mode anyways, and sometimes I just stand it up on a table while using the Pro Controller
FPBP. For my Switch, I have an 8 Bit Do USB adapter so that I can use my DS4 controller. Fuck joycons. Fuck the overpriced Pro controller and its terrible d-pad and shoulder buttons.
I like the joy cons a lot actually, but i don't get why the couldn't make the sl and sr buttons better, i don't like to add a strap every time friends come to play. It's the main gimmick besides the handheld/stationary thing that i adore.
Pro controller i rather not buy, but i need some sort of a controller, so i'm thinking of dualshock 4, which is the only thing that i liked about ps4 that i had trouble with parting.
Does ps4 light up, rumble and does the sound work on the controller itself though?
Pro controller, no contest. I recently got a Switch and the main thing I don't like about the joy-cons is the L and R buttons. They click way too easily and I hate the way the wrap around so much. Whenever I try to play MH in handheld mode I find myself accidently pressing them a lot of times. They need to make some better Joy-cons with a normal dpad and non-shit L and R buttons.
I haven't gotten a pro controller yet but honestly I love using the joycons when I'm playing while on the treadmill or exercise bike. It's a lot easier than a traditional controller.
fpbp, it's legit the worst fucking scam I've seen from nintendo yet, the little fucker always drift after a while no matter what you do. If you insist on buying a switch buy a fucking adaptater and a PS4 or xbone controller PLEASE don't waste your money nintendo doesn't deserve it
ever since controllers added a second stick they've felt like complete dogshit
joycons are the first update to the controller scheme that actually had some right ideas going on
too bad the d-pad, or lack of, kills it for 2d games
The only time i actually had problems with drifting is in la noire, i think that's the game itself. Is that only old revision thing? I bought in may i think.
>Pokken Pad
My based nigger. That thing is perfect for platforming and emulation. The Wii U pad looks beautiful too.
With that much leverage i'd be afraid of bending the sides open.
They fixed it for Tetris 99 at least, though it needs to be turned on in the options. All it does is makes the hard drop not work if up is simultaneously being pressed with either left or right.
>Turbo
Yikes!
Does the d-pad for this piece of shit work yet? It's been over two years, Nintendo.
The joycons are good in theory but in their current state they feel like a prototype, and they're way too expensive for what you get.
Switch pro controller is one of the comfiest controllers I've ever used for 3D games but as is widely known the D-pad is trash, even if you fix the misfires. Disappointing it doesn't have a headphone jack though. If you play a lot of 2D games do yourself a favor and get an 8bitdo instead (ONLY the Pro+, the others have awful D-pads).
Doesn't the Switch itself have gyro?
It's a fundamental design issue. it seems like they made it so you can still press all the buttons independently, unlike a typical dpad which pivots in the middle and disallows simultaneous opposing presses
Pro controller, but the d-pad issue is really fucking shit. I need to bust mine open and tape it already.
Wii U Pro controller is all around better. More comfortable, 80-hour battery life, and symmetric sticks.
the gyro is on the tablet itself
>symmetric sticks
>better
Yikes!
This was a pretty good controller except for not having gyro and the way the ABXY button placement starts straining your thumb after a while. Unparalleled battery life.
It does but I don't think many games are coded to use it
i thought this was good until i got a Switch Pro controller and realized it's garbage in comparison to the true king and successor.
>he doesn’t want his 386 to run at its full clock speed
Pro Controller easily. It also has a number of serious issues like an absolutely terrible D-Pad, stick in the wrong place, digital triggers, and face buttons being way too big, but joy-cons are just shit.
Wii U Pro was good except for the trigger buttons
Wish I could use my Switch Pro with my Wii U
Pro Controller would be an absolutely phenomenal controller if they got rid of the drifting issues entirely and gave it a better D-Pad.
I still use my Pro Controller for pretty much everything, I even use it as a PC controller.
They're both shit, but Pro Controller is a better shit
This. I always use my Switch in handheld mode so this would be a blessing to use.
>inb4 “it’s not wireless!”
Dude it’s attached to the console, also barely any games use gyro besides some first party titles and Splatoon.
