Playing Final Fantasy is bad for you.
You should not play it. Ever.
Don't play it late at night...
I enjoyed the first one
III, IV, V, VI, VII, IX, X & XII
Crystal Chronicles is fun if you happen to have people to play with. SP it's quite bland, you're a decade too late for XI, if you're into MMO XIV may scratch an itch but it's no XI.
If you like them try out I, and if you're a derranged loser who likes an awful story and gameplay, and it's likely because you're playing FF, try VIII anytime.
>Don't play it late at night...
W-why?
The one that starts with the words Dragon Quest you fucking pleb.
They're all worth playing. Best ones are 5 through 10 plus tactics, however. So start there.
Night time is for masturbating to your moms moans when she thinks you're asleep and then sleeping yourself when you are all sticky and waking up humping your own mattress softly moaning Mom.. only to realise she has opened the curtains in your room to wake you up.
Remake 1, 3, 4, 5.
Original 7, 9, 10, 12, 13-2, Tactics.
1(psp port) 3(on ds), 4,5,6,7,9,10
3 through 10
4 > 7 > 6 > 10 > 9 > 5 > 3 > 8
Fixed your image OP and put them in the best order to play them too.
>4 that high
Huh?
Godlike:
>5
>7
>9
>10
Great:
>3
>6
>12
Okay:
>1
>4
>8
>10-2
>13-3
Garbage:
>2
>13
>13-2
>15
Get out, you're not really jesus
The even numbered ones.
1, 6, 7, 9, 10. The rest are optional.
MYSTIC QUEST ONLY
5, 7 and 9
The ones with Jobs systems. The rest are pure fucking weeb trash.
All of them except 13, honestly. 1, 2, 3 haven't aged well but are fun classics (well, at least 1 - 2 is shitty and 3 is way too hard), 4-10 are fantastic except 8 but eh, 11 is mmo, 12 is great, 13 and sequels are embarrassments and 13 is the worst game I've ever played no lie, 14 mmo, 15 to see how much potential it wasted
XI
I got you senpai
10, classic turn based combat, each character can fill any role given enough time so you don't have to bench your waifu, all bosses can be defeated with proper planning and strategy or, if you just want to complete with few challenges, you can cheese it with an insta-kill move
The only bad parts are the voice acting, and the minigames can be hit or miss
Tactics
This is a very agreeable list as long as T is inserted into godlike.
I have the sudden urge to play Ultima for some reason
Nah nigga skip the fuck out of 2
The first three.
As somebody who liked all of them except III, the ones that are actually worth going out of your way to play are:
I
V
VII
My friend bought me Final Fantasy 7 for iOS mobile. I’ve never played FF7, is it worth playing this way?
4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12
The PS1 games.
4,5 ,6 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12
1,4,5,6,7,8(?),9,10,12,15, tactics, disydia, Mystic Quest,
no
im a big 12fag but i agree with this list
>liked them all except 3
look at this faggot
>skip the fuck out of 2
Get out of here casual.
this
best final fantasy
4
6
7
8
9
12
>except III
3 was great thought
>class system
>2 worlds
>the final tower
>all those magic and combination
i wouldn't consider 13 through 15 the product of greed solely. more the product of wanting to adapt to a modern audience which all game franchises do. the problem is that most younger gamers hate turn based battle systems, so a 90s style FF game would have no chance of success today. since turned based battles were the heart of the FF games they really should have just ended the series after 12 desu.
At least it's not Final Fantasy.
What is the most overrated final fantasy and why is it 4?
VI
VII
and Tactics
Nah. Most over rated is either 6 or 7.
tactics
7
4 and up are all playable by modern standards. Not that 1-3 are bad just...made in a different time. 5,6,7,8,9 are considered the golden age (8 being the black sheep of those). 10 is where shit got too anime for some people. stil an ok time tho. 11 doesn't count, 12 is the blackest of sheep but is more of a game that 13 ever was and is actually finished unlike 15. 14 like 11 are MMOs so some dont count them.
Probably because of melodrama and plot contrivance.
It's still probably the most iconic FF contentwise though.
XI, VIII and one that you didn’t post are the best ones. The rest are all worth playing as well but do not fucking touch XIV it is fucking horrible. I am being serious here, not an XIfag, I an speaking from a story standpoint as well, FFXIV just doesn’t get good in terms of story till shadowbringers and you have to buy the game and a fucking level skip unless you want to tolerate HOURS UPON HOURS of outdated content. Its a horribly designed game, the gameplay has only gotten worse over time as well, it plays like a fucking moba now.
Most overrated is 8 because 4, 6 and 7 are actual good games
what about heroes of light?
its honestly 7. 7 is that rare game where people are fans of it without ever playing it. shits strange.
4 is eclipsed by later games but there's not really any reason you could say 1 thru 3 are better than 4. it was the best console RPG to ever exist at that point in time when it came out, hands down. sure, 3's job system is fun and dynamic but its story and presentation lacks the gravitas of 4.
7 is overhyped
Not overrated.
It is really, actually frankly, a real GREAT game.
>X
>good
kys
>It's another metal 'remix'
Fucking gross. Get a better taste in music.
It's not Dragon Quest either, it's better
>class system
Useless - class switching penalty encourages you to find the classes you want early on and never change from them, although certain bosses all but mandate certain choices.
>2 worlds
Played it around 7-8 years ago so my memory may be fuzzy, but I seem to recall them both sucking shit.
>the final tower
Was annoying as shit on a blind playthrough.
>all those magic and combination
V did it way, way better. No reason not to just use Devout and Summoner in the end.
It's easily 6.
nah it's shit
it's just your first final fantasy
nah
6
The penalty us literally 2-6 battles and hardly significant. Mostly 2 if you aren’t a brain dead 50 iq drooling moron but it sounds like you are.
I couldn't ever finish FF6. It's boring as hell and I hate the esper system.
My first was 4, contrarian.
class switching penalities is not a bad thing thought
The penalty increases as you change classes, user. If you switch to Scholar and then switch to something else after a battle, then oops, you need to wait twice as long.
it's your first final fantasy on the playshit sony fanboy
how autistic are you?
>II and XIII as optional
>X and XII in avoid
stupid ass
But it is. It encourages you *not* to switch classes. 5 got it right.
5, 6, 7, 15
that's it.
sounds like a hit a nerve lol.
Here's something.
I first played FFVII on the PS3 ;)
Tactics>X>5>7>1>3>13>4>TA=TA2>9>2>8>12>6>15
Getting tired of 5 niggers thinking its better then 3. 3 does everything 5 set out to do better .
4 and 9
Why not?
This is probably one of the dumbest things I've seen on this website in a long time.
>better .
Spotted the street shitter.
I respect your opinon user, Ultimate is the DNA building blocks for DQ!
Quality > Quantity
Kill yourselves 5fags.
Every Final Fantasy is worth giving a shot; different strokes for different folks.
I didn't like VIII that much even after playing it to the end, but I've seen a number of people who swear by it. In contrast, I like IX a lot even though I've seen a number of people who are turned off by the game due to its slow combat speed.
If I had to recommend any, though, I'd say that Final Fantasy V (5) is a good one to mess around with.
>mystic quest
Stop fucking around.
The complete opposite of what you just said, is true.
This opinion is so bad that it doesn't even qualify as bait.
And it has an upper limit of how high it goes which is around 10. The game also punishes you less for switching between jobs that are loosely related to one another. Also if you seriously needed to switch that much then you’re either:
>A moron
>Literally complaining about a game mechanic that is meant to punish you
If you were switching constantly to knight for hp growth even if it was completely unecessaey and clearly not the way you were meant to play then deal with the penalty.
I think when discussing 3 its important to bring up if you mean the original or the DS remake because they are pretty different.
Why would you recommend anything other than the ds remake to a new player. I am heavily curious about this. I’m all for appreciating older games but I can also recognize when remakes completely make the original obsolete.
battle, overworld, and town locations are basically the same though right? they are basically the same, one just has polygons and one has sprites
The DS remake has characters that they created just for that game, the original is like 1, its just nameless characters that have classes and no dialogue. Also the balance of the jobs is way different.
IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, X in that order.
I am sure Jesus would love Final Fantasy.
...
the DS remakes pull some gay ass shit where you are basically put into a cooldown state every time you change jobs and cant gain job points for a set amount of fights or something like that
I've played them all and they are all worth playing. Some are way better than the others but honestly I wouldn't call any of them unplayable or worthless even FFVIII, FFXIII, FFXV etc.
newfag
Are XI's servers still up?
You people are fucking retarded, why do you speak of things you know nothing about.
Yes
6, 9, and 14
>why do you speak of things you know nothing about.
Where do you think we are?
I'm here to save the day.
There are things III does better than V. Secrets, battle magic options, art style, a certain sense of fun (III's cast doesn't face failure after failure) and visceral danger brought on by children vs huge monsters, a sense of family, unconventional monsters, structure and a much better start.
However even if I want to replay III over V 20% of the time, saying it does everything better is pretty unconventional. I do get angry at people calling III the skippable beta version of V, because it's not. However generally if you don't happen to prefer one of its outstanding qualities highly, V is better and offers more content and pathos.
what's wrong with II? I have half the crystals in the psp remake of I right now having never finished any of the games and wanting to go through the series and I like it. Is it not more of the same?
There's nothing wrong with it, it's just a very rough prototype of SaGa, which most FFlets can't deal with.
I is pretty fun to play, I had a great time with it, I even went and got a "perfect game" with it just because, but II is plain bad, not even a good story to follow, without to mention that you can beat anything in the game with berserk lv10, which isn't hard to get, and if that isn't enough, once you get osmose lv10, that also isn't hard to get, you are basically immortal against everything, literally the hardest boss on the game can take you 2 turns and 0 dmg if you have these 2 skills, if you still want to play it I reccomend you to don't bother "grinding" and just play it dumb to see if you can get some fun out of it.
After 7 I noticed it really going overboard into trying to appeal to proto-trannies.
why did you post the same game eight times?
This is what he's talking about:
The Job Adjustment Phase (ジョブ移行期間, Jobu Ikōkikan?, lit. Job Transition Period) is the period of time after changing a character's job introduced in the 3D versions of Final Fantasy III, which replaced the Capacity system from the original NES version. During the phase, the character's stats are decreased until the adjustment phase is over.
It's shit.
The Onion Kids do have dialogue. More than any other characters in the game in fact. It characterizes them as helpful, irreverent, brash brats that learn humility to accept and thank for help at the end of their arc before the final area of the final dungeon.
>FF2 is bad because it has broken spells I found out thanks to a guide
>But FF1 being mash attack central is totally good
Every time, every time FF fans conveniently leave out all the broken shit about the entries they like but pretend their favourite ones are different, FF1 didn't even had a story while FF2 literally created all of the character and main story archetype the series is reusing since over 30 years.
All of them up to 9 excluding 2 and 8
2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,10,CC, and tactics
Also AC is a movie
I didn't used a single guide for the first 3 games(except for the bonus dungeon of 1), why did you assume that? Both FF1 and FF2 are straight to the point but FF2 have a retarded exp system that ruins the entire experience and FF2 story is so cliche and dumb that even FF1 beat it on that aspect, I don't have to add that FF3 was lots of fun.
>why did you assume that?
Because you conveniently leave out a lot of stuff about FF2 that makes both those spells work, and I'm also pretty sure you played the casualized GBA/PSP ports on top of it.
>FF2 story is so cliche and dumb that even FF1 beat it on that aspect
Must be why a lot of JRPGs copied it, including most FF after it.
Every wortwhile FF
>FFI + II (optional)
>FFIII - IX
>FFX (optional)
>FFX-2 (if you liked FFX)
>FF Tactics
>Chrono Trigger
>Dragon Quest 4-8
7 would be the right answer 15 years ago, but now I don't see it brought up that often, except to say it's overhyped. Like OoT.
Nowadays, the most overrated FF games are objectively VI and IX. I feel like VIII might make it there too with the shit I'm seeing now.
People haven't considered VIII the worst game ever made, so it has always been the most overrated one.
III, IV, V, VII, XII, XIII, XIII-2, LR (aka XIII-3), Tactics, WoFF, 4 Heroes of Light
>playing VIII
>skipping IX
FFI
FFIV
FFVI
FFVII
FFT
FFXI
FFXII
None
>retarded exp system that obligate you to use shit to level it up in a retarded way
>oh look I got a berserk
>leave my game training alone while I do some other shit
>welp, now everything dies in a single hit
So, it's been a while but I really don't remember that "lot of stuff" you talking about.
>you played the casualized GBA/PSP
I will stop talking to you now my memer friend.
>thinking IX and X are better than VI
I've never played a final fantasy until the beginning of this year. I started marathon playing the series in release order, and I've only enjoyed I, VII and Tactics. I'm currently on X.
