Why would you ever put in Geno when Paper Mario is a better choice in every way?
Why would you ever put in Geno when Paper Mario is a better choice in every way?
They are both kinda boring user
I disagree.
Care to elaborate?
He can turn into paper plane and doesn't afraid of anything
i don't trust them not fucking up paper mario as a fighter in the series' current state
i mean, look at how they still haven't fixed sonic's moveset after he was rushed for brawl
But what would turning into a plane accomplish? That just sounds like a glide move to me user.
It's so disappointing how they STILL haven't added a simple "throw a ring and chase it" move for side b after all this time.
Sakurai and his team are way too lazy with (not) redesigning the older characters, the worst offender being Ganondorf. Even Toon Link and Young Link could be made really unique if they actually gave a shit about the source material.
You mean Fawful
I don't want to be an apologetic, but I think older characters are the least Sakurai's priorities
>Plebeian
Geno
>Contrarian
Paper Mario
>Patrician
Fawful
Back of the line
Why would you put in Geno OR Paper Mario when Fawful is a better choice in every way?
There's literally nothing wrong with incorporating aspects form the modern gaes, even if they're bad.
I don't want them to take away from the other things he could have like transformations or partners, but him using the Slipper Sticker for a jab, Huey for an absorb, or even a Fan Thing Final Smash aren't bad ideas at all
Why would you put in Fawful when Midbus exists and can be justified as a semi clone of Bowser?
But user, Midbus will be coming in the Mario & Luigi DLC pack, featuring Fawful as a fighter, Midbus as an echo of Bowser, and a Beanbean Kingdom stage.
There have been an unusually large number of Paper Mario threads lately, what gives?
>Not Paper Mario and Midbus
pretty much this
and at least with Geno we'd get another Gunner-type character which Smash is sorely lacking in comparison to swordfighters and brawlers
Eh, Paper Mario just seems boring to me. Just another
>silent protagonist main character from a series does shit from that series, because no one else from that series would have any fucking chance of getting in
I love the first 3 Paper Mario games to death, but I consider Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story to be the pinnacle of Nintendo's Mario RPG attempts. Plus, Fawful is literally the best Mario villain to ever exist. He's actually well written, he's funny, he ties Nintendo's best M&L games together.
He's the only Mario rep left who deserves a spot.
I hate to say it, but I doubt any of these choices would get Nintendo to remember what a good Mario RPG looks like. Sorry.
Good bait, user. However... we already have 2 marios
ok but what if they put geno in the next paper mario?
Seethe harder. Color Splash was 5 years ago.
And 4 Marths, what's your point?
I'd absolutely creme my pants if both got in.
>no news of a new PM since 2016
>IS just finished Three Houses
>recent Mario titles have been going back to their roots in some form (like Mario Party and Mario Tennis), which is making people think PM will do the same
Sticker Star was more or less going back to its roots. Not in terms of gameplay, but rather setting. It was the first spin-off to do so.
>PaperMariofags
Psh. Everyone knows they're gonna add Mario & Luigi into the game as a duo and use bros attacks for their specials.
Don't forget hello yellow. She's pretty much the star of the games at this point. Their moveset would focus on her. Either that or she'll get in on her own. She even has a better chance than Fawful and you KNOW it.
just make him ice bowser with k rools belly counter and you're set, chrom pulls from more than one FE faggot so its not unheard of
bump
Going back to roots won't mean a game just like the first two, it'll mean scrapping every combat system to date looking for something new. Best we can hope for is a villain that isn't Bowser since we're never getting NPCs that aren't plain toads ever again.
Starlow will be their up special like in that one battle against Bowser in BiS.
Half of his appeal is his Engrish Gir Meme text though.
Zomg a paper version of Mario based based based based
Applkes and Oranges
That is based though.
I suppose that's the reason for his popularity, but I genuinely consider Fawful to be the best-written M&L villain ever, as a character, and the most entertaining. The remakes did him justice by shedding light on him, mostly in Superstar Saga.
Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story, together, show us a glorified mook who slowly realizes that he is the only reason his boss ever gets as far as she does, and sets out to take advantage of this. Fawful, in his final fight in SSS, has come to the conclusion that without him Cackletta probably wouldn't even have gotten as far as stealing Peach's voice - and he is right. She's not nearly as competent and perfect as she believes, and Fawful is literally the brains and backbone behind every single one of her plans. In Bowser's Minions you learn near the end that Fawful is already creating his Mechawfuls and planning to overthrow Cackletta, as he's realized that he never needed her.
In BIS he proves himself to be, by far, the most competent villain faced in any Mario RPG. He systematically takes over both castles, spreads fear and a literal plague through the Mushroom Kingdom, and is constantly two steps ahead of the protagonists until the very end of the game. Fawful is literally constantly besting you and having plan after plan to account for any problems. He literally never fails in his mission until he overextends himself and lets Bowser beat him as Dark Fawful. Even when he's finally beaten he still refuses to give up and attempts to suicide bomb himself and the Mario brothers. Interestingly enough, in one of the foreign versions of BIS Fawful actually mentions Cackletta in his dying monologue and laments that he failed despite putting up with her for so long.
I dunno, I find him a very interesting character and to me every M&L game since BIS has felt lifeless without a villain as entertaining and fun as Fawful. Antasma was boring.
The IS team that works on FE is not the same team that works on Paper Mario.
Also didnt they do WarioWare Gold?
The Best Fitness Friends were based though.
They weren't that bad, yeah, they were fun too. I consider the remakes to be superb, the side-stories are very fun if not incredibly repetitive gameplay-wise.
I certainly hope AlphaDream has taken a note from the remakes and their next game is more original and not as derivative as Dream Team and Paper Jam. By this point I've lost hope in Paper Mario, but I think AlphaDream can still make another great M&L game.
>no drop dash
>no light dash
>no bound jump
it hurts
I agree he could easily have a moveset based on his partner's from the games
It has something to do with him not wanting to betray people who liked those characters for the moveset. It's the entire reason as to why Ganondorf was never fixed.
