I think the world was kind of boring for me, towns didn't have many people you could actually interact with, and factions were just filled with copypasta'd guards. Because NV doesn't cater to the instant-gratification style of gameplay like F3 & 4. It's only once you get into the second act that the game opens up and you begin to receive more feedback from the game world; compare that to F3 with its infamous Fat Man encounter the first time you enter DC or F4 with its power armour and minigun deathclaw battle literally fifteen minutes into the game.

This sort of thing is why people are still picking up and playing F4 and making threads about it, because "haha raider head explode haha my female character has a fat ass". NV takes quite a few mods before becoming a dopamine mine of the same intensity.
