Some of these characters are my favorites of all time but in terms of modern Nintendo, most of these are literal whos that get in because they're old. Especially Captain Falcon, who at this point has been referenced in more games and cameo'd in Smash more than being in actual games of his series. The MOTHER series wants to be forgotten about by Nintendo, ICs and ROB are just another NES tribute like Duck Hunt, Jigglypuff is Jigglypuff and hasn't even been relevant in its own series in years. And of course FE characters, but I would change my mind about them if I knew more about probably. However, awakening was big in the west too and that should count for something.
