It was teased a couple years before the kojima fallout and konami cancelling all their non-soccer games.
On a side note, platinum spent many years only releasing shitty licensed games. In truth they were developing MGRR2 and Scalebound, but the publishers of both cancelled the game and left platinum with massive losses.
Nier automata's sales saved the company tho
