Without the bs "soul" argument, what does Yea Forums actually think of the remake?

I missed the chance to buy it back in the day on the game boy color and visually it looks kino

Old good
New bad
Old kinou
New ashita

I would say it lacks a certain immaterial spirit

>presentation that relies on forced, excessive bloom and focus blur
>full price despite being really short, all because of the half-assed "dungeon maker" where you arrange some pre-made rooms

I tried playing links awaking dx on my gameboy color , never played it before, I couldn’t make it past 30 minutes the graphics fucking suck and it feels so outdated, just like the original Zelda on nes , Zelda doesn’t work on 8 bit for me, it’s a terrible experience and I swear only people who say it’s amazing are the ones who played it as a kid so they have nostalgia factored in.

>bloom
what?

I've got soul but I'm not a soldier

it's missing a kind of je ne sais quoi

it's the post-processing effect that makes colors washed out in order to simulate strong sunlight

there is no bloom used in the game as far as I've seen, only a (very strong) DoF effect

the original is my favorite top-down zelda and I think the remake looks sexy

it has bloom, it's what makes the ground look fluorescent

The original is my favorite Zelda game. From what I've seen so far, this remake looks great and likely the best version of the game to play for a new player, the only issue is if you personally consider it worthy of full price since it's still a short Game Boy game underneath.

Absolute shit. DoF in a fucking 2d top down Zelda game because they wanted to give it the same sense as the original of only having one screen viewable at a time, but then have no loading. Even then, can't keep FPS at 60 because of world loading that brings it down to fucking 30 resulting in horrible jolting every so often.

Plastic looking shit for the Funko pop idiots, instead of the doll gimmick the commercials used for the original. Link movement looking jank in everything he does, from swinging his sword, dashing or jumping, with noticeable delay on all actions.

Dumbed down mini games for no reason. Added content has little place and is merely there for distraction because the base game is so barebones and they want to try to pull you away from realizing it, instead of actually adding to the game in a meaningful way to make it worth that 60 bucks.

The only good thing is that they unfucked inventory management, but that seems to be the only thing these fuckers are good at given OoT and MM3d. Nintendo needs to stop handing Zelda to these fucks, because they have no sense of how to make the games visually appealing or interesting to play.

Love the new art style.

Probably wont buy it though cause $60

huh yeah I guess there's some bloom, looking at it more carefully. It's fairly subtle though and only sticks out on the wall in the bottom right.

I hate the funko pop meme, they look nothing alike

Link does look dumb, but the rest of the graphics look great. Yea Forums just nitpicks the shit out of it as they always do.

looks good to me, and the extra buttons should improve the gameplay.

willing to give it a shot due to the qol improvements.
i couldn't be fucked with the original due to how much you're forced to pause and switch items around.

>focus blur
Nigger it's called depth of field
>bloom
Where?

I dislike the art style. They should have made it look like the animated intro. Also not a fan of how they chose to do the music. Odd instrument choices.

You have tools to make an amazing game but you go to the cheap route

I was so fucking hyped for the trailer until the gameplay starts and then i saw it was just another cashgrab

>people defend this blurry mess because "it's supposed to be a dream"
I'm not even a graphicsfag, but that image makes my eyes hurt.

>anime good
>toybox bad

Correct. This just looks like they wanted to make something that looks as unique as 3D Dot Game Heroes but didn't want to rip it off directly. I dislike it.

While I'll agree the intro looks insanely good I don't think gameplay looks terrible

depth of field refers to the distance between the planes of focus

it honestly looks better than 3d dot game heroes. that game's wannabe-minecraft look hasn't aged well at all.

Not a fan of the plastic toy look
Link's Awakening is not worth $60

Isn't that a youtube screencap or something?

it's low quality because the original format was not jpg, so I had to convert it before uploading, and that fucked the quality for some reason

So why are you using an admittedly fucked screenshot as proof that the game looks like shit?

Yeah, a game the size of Link's Awakening is not worth $60. $40 would probably be better.

it was never a proof that the game looks like shit you brainlet moron. I posted it to show the amount of bloom, as the other guy asked for.

I would be a lot more amicable towards it if there was a master quest mode with rearranged dungeons. As is theres just not enough meat there, and while subjective I genuinely prefer the gameboy visuals so theres really no point

It's the "Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee" of Zelda.
