It's not fundamentally bad like something like Awakening or Echoes, it's more like they don't bother to bring the gameplay to its fullest potential out of fear of challenging the player too hard. A lot of maps would be way better with better objectives and not just rout or defeat commander. Good mechanics like Shove/Reposition would go ignored less if Stride and Warp didn't overshadow them
