I have a 1070 and Ryzen 1600. The hardware has aged well, but I do wish I had better video card upgrade options.

Going to be good actually

wish i had one but i don't know how to start

>have 4000 usd
>my rig is literal shit
>750ti and a cpu that is being used 100 percent of the time on league of legends
>for some reason i refuse to upgrade it

I'm a big Nvidia shill usually, but if you want good bang for your buck then look into getting a 5700XT maybe.
Almost as strong as the 2070 Super (aka a slightly weaker 2080) for just a bit over $400.

If you tell me your budget and what you'll be using it for, i could put you a parts list together and maybe link a decent tutorial or two.

Good enough. A feel a bit jewed by my Rx580 with only 4gb of vram and the slow ram, but considering the moment I got them, it's still pretty good.

i7 7700k
1070 sc

i have garbage single channel 8gb ram i'm gonna uprgade, but besides that i still run everything at Ultra, 1080p 60fps

pcpartpicker makes this so accessable these days. /g/ has a pc building thread

I want to build a new PC but I don’t know what to do with my old build.

>I'm a big Nvidia shill usually
Arent you that autist from g who always mass replies and only recommends AMD?

The /g/ thread is useful, but i hope the anons don't get fucked over by some of the shitposters and shills there. The OP is always a total mess.

Stay within your needs user, frugality is a positive trait dw about paypiggies telling you otherwise. Upgrade when you really need to, you never know when you'll need cash on deck.

i7 6700k and gtx 1070 8gb, pretty good. Would considered upgrading the gpu in a year or something.

No i'm the autist from /g/ who recommends people the 9700K every now and then.

my pc is starting to get to the point where i can't play league of casuals at a consisent 80 on medium so its probably time to sell it to my family for $100 and sell something else so i can get a new pc

since i don't really have much for free spending i'd say maybe $600-$700 max. when i think of high-end gaming rigs i always think of $2000 upwards but i just wanna play some recent AAA games without much stuttering.

user, in the US if you know what to look for you can get a PC that'll run league however the fuck you want at 210 FPS for like $500. My nearly decade old system could play league 60 fps minimum you must have a rather ancient system.
Whatever is the best experience for you chief.

Is the RTX 2060 worth it, or should I find a used 1080?

Get whichever one is cheaper honestly, they're pretty close in performance.

Depends if you can trust the second hand seller. If you do, just get the 1080. 20xx series is a massive meme and only has a 13% performance mean over 10 series cards and even less on 16xx.
if you want to future proof and have the money, grab any 16xx series card you won't regret it, the next gen in architecture will be 4-5 years ahead.

I wouldn't upgrade either if I only had $4000. I was reluctant to upgrade with 6 figs nah mean?

yeah ill probably just get a $600 pc or something and sell my main pc for $100 to a friend, sell my xbox for $150 and make it so it feels cheaper on me

>novidia in 2019

This totals out to about 720 on pcpartpicker, but you can probably get it a bit cheaper if you search for some deals.
Should play any current game or upcoming release at 60+fps on ~high to maybe max settings.

I'd say as for tutorials just hit up the /g/ PC building thread, they have some decent ones linked there as far as i remember.

Ryzen 1700x, 1080 FTW2. Still going pretty strong, too bad most of the newer games are shitty. Been playing older games lately but atleast their fun.

Eh, hard to say. The 1080 is a solid card and the 2060 is too new and bit too rich for my blood when it comes to its price-performance. Just get what’s cheaper

Pretty good, still waiting on a solid upgrade for my 980ti since it’s starting to show it’s age a bit at 1440p with newer titles

No need for a rig i have a console :)

>TFW my very nice, very aesthetic build I put together myself in a NZXT H440 Razer case (fuck you I like matte black) fried the motherboard randomly after 2 years of use, and took some other parts with it.
>Had to buy a generic and kinda garbo Alienware from Best Buy to replace it that day because work and shit.

I was supposed to replace the Alienware but I never got around to it, but it's been like 2 years and I think it's time. I cannot be fucked to build myself again, though. The part shopping, the waiting for deals, trying to find the right look and match for everything to look good, it's all not worth the cost IMO. It's fun, but not to do over and over.

My problem is, 16GB just isn't cutting it anymore with my work, and it's hard to price something with 32GB for less than $2k. Plus I'm out of the loop on graphics cards, I don't know what's good and what's shit anymore.

>gtx1060 3Gb
>Dunno my cpu.
>8gb tam
Should I scrap it and build a new or just upgeade cpu and gpuninto 1660TI/1070?

Made my first rig a week ago. Only thing that's bothering me is that my idle temp(when I have my web browser on) is 41-43 degrees. Is that normal for my processor?

It's hard to answer that question without you telling us what your CPU is. lol

Shame your black bro I'm sorry, your comedy is great though.
>he thinks a 32GB system is 2K
hahahahah lmaoooo, nah chief, micro ATX 2 dual channel ports at DDR4 3200MHz filled is like 400 bucks with some stock corsair shit.
Slapping MORE RAM into a system has been a build meme for a while now shits pretty cheap with how volatile the parts tend to be these. days. I can guarantee your new build won't set you back 2 grand even with newer and fancy RGB parts hahahah
Just don't water cool it for the love of god

I am at work bruh

I got a prebuilt in high school and I've only had to upgrade the graphics card and the power supply. I'm now finishing college

Attached: oh yeah soldier.jpg (1024x750, 94K)

Anything above 90 is dangerous, some parts run idle at higher temps then others. Your probably fine.

>3gb 1060
Oh jesus fucking crhist I can't believe anyone bought those things you were scammed bro
Dxdiag your system and figure it out it isn't rocket science

Living in the turd world is hard

Shit, I'm retarded. Sorry, Ryzen 3700x. Is it normal? I checked Reddit, and there are threads there about people complaining about high idle temps. Just wanted to be sure.

I know I can Partpicker a 32GB system for less than 2k, obviously. I'm just not sure I care enough to build it myself. I used to get some pride out of it, but not anymore. Plus no one is ever gonna see it anyway.

This being said, I don't remeber it is was 3 gb or 6gb.
I just want something that let me run PoE in peace

Nahw that's fine, Ryzen has kinda weird idle temps for some people without overkill cooling.
Don't worry about it.

Your fine, your PC won't suddenly explode or anything.
High Idle temps tend to be a nvidia issue, but if your running the stock CPU storm fan then your idles expected. If your not, your thermals are garbage but your system isn't gonna melt anytime soon haha

Spent $4000 Canadian on it back in early 2016 and it's still perfect. Most of that went to the 1080 and 144hz monitor. Yeah I spent too much, but I haven't had to upgrade anything in 3 years.

Cool, thanks. Was worried I spent so much money on my rig only to get a shitty CPU. The worst part is that I've gone through multiple fans thinking it was something wrong with them.

I can't be bothered spoonfeeding you a build but I'll tell you this. I live in AUS which has about a 170% markup on all products, sometimes more. To put that in perspective, the cheapest 1660ti I can get on market is $420.
New AAA titles tend to be anywhere from $90/120 on retail, and I can build a 32BG system for less than 2k, you have options I'm sure you'll find them if you stray off the beaten path a bit.

He doesn't remember onlive

fine. built it like 3+ years ago for VR and ended up ditching VR for the time being and going with 144/165 1440p instead.

Something else is bottlenecking your system hard then. Any 1060 should have no problems at all running poe. If your GPU is overtaxed that thing is a fake lmao

>i7 2600k still chugging along
It'll drop dead on me one day, second hand from a mate way back in the bad old days. What a champ of a CPU. Struggling on modded 'rim but does 1080 60 on everything else just fine.

I've been wondering about upgrading my graphics card to something that's got more VRAM available than 2gb, but otherwise it's served me well

GTX 1060 6gb
i5-7400
16Gb ram

It's good enough for everything i'm currently doing but i'm sitting with an old 24" IPS panel at 1080p. There are no new releases that i'm interested in except Doom Eternal and perhaps Cyberpunk 2077 so i think i'm good so far.
Only problem is that it's really hard to know which end i should start upgrading in.

thanks a lot friend

Mine died two years ago in an electrical surge and I haven't found the motivation to replace it.

Attached: 1564823302445.jpg (482x427, 70K)

Yw bro. I think once you'll get to putting it together you'll realize that it's basically Lego.
Just make sure to look up some cable management guides and buy Windows on ebay for cheap instead of buying it for full price.

I was just thinking of getting back into this.

It's doing ok. Getting some really hot temps whenever I play youtube videos or launch LoL though.

Attached: ALIENWARE RADICAL.jpg (480x497, 76K)

Upgraded from 1060+6500 to an rtx 2070 and 8700k last December. Still holding up really well. Thinking about upgrading my wireless adapter though.

ryzen 5 2600 + gtx1660
not the best but I can play anything at high 1080. Pretty happy desu

For the past few weeks my mobo is giving me weird temp warnings like "CPU 112 celsius" or "Vcore -15 centigrade." When I remove the side panel and feel the parts or use the temperature gauge on my multimeter, everything is fine.

I need to upgrade from the CPU anyway, so I'm going to save up money and do a new build keeping just the GPU, SSD, and PSU. I even feel like getting a new case.

I still run on only 4 gigs of ram, it'll probably die soon. I can feel it crying out sometimes. I have maybe 300 bucks to spend on frivolous shit, a good computer is like 1500. I guess I have to get a better job.

i still use my gayman laptop i bought 4 years ago. the only modern games i play are edf 5 and wreckfest and they run without problem. i'l probably use it until it breaks

not good, for some reason it's randomly restarting. It used to do that one year ago, got a new PSU, no problems, now it's back to this. Already did ram, hdd and voltage tests, tried win7 and 8.1 and same shit happens. unfortunately i'm afraid that it is the mobo and i don't have money to spend on this right now.

You can make a pretty good rig for 1K already.

Attached: happiness.jpg (1280x720, 437K)

sold it a long time ago because of coil whine

I mean, maybe, but since I have so little cash I'd rather save up more than 1k and buy something that will blow my head right off. I figure 1500 - 1700.

I have a 1070ti Asus OC, but my i5 4690k @4.3 is probably bottlenecking

would like to upgrade my cpu for future proofing. Note that I play on emulator a lot as well.

Currently out of commission because it won't even boot or get to bios if any hard drives are plugged in. BIOS will come up if none are plugged in. I'm baffled

Try a different hard drive

I bought a Powerspec PC years ago and stuck a 1080 in it. I wouldn't mind building one someday. Just had too much shit going on at the time.
