I've been loving the DXM demo so far, so when I'm done with the game I may go back and give AC2 another chance.

I have all the AC games. My Favorite generation is the PS2 Era by far. Last Raven is by far the most rewarding and difficult game out of all of them.

It really was a love letter to all Armored Core fans then. Armored Core is dead, everyone who worked on it, aren't there anymore. (FROM cares about that dark souls money) But Kenichiro who produced AC worked on DXM and it really shows. I'm buying the game alone on that fact, because I want to support him and the devs who actually listened to feedback and improved the game dramatically.

Well, they never considered it an FPS title, and the use of the right stick to aim was completely foreign on consoles until Halo popularised it.

If it helps user, you can use PCSX2 with a controller plugin like Lilyinput to customize the controls to something more sane. Some button rebinds to stick motions and deadzone adjusting later I was easily able to fly around and keep targets on lock.

Never noticed with the 100 other particle effects and me standing under it which is the key spot where you can really damage the thing solo

The 2-disc special with the old missions was fucking great, the Arena was fun, the extras the music was on point( then again Armored core always had great music.) But near the ending yeah, that fucking boss was hard, but he really forcves you to git gud because Last Raven will absolutely push you to your limits.

The Fights in LAst Raven are no fucking joke, especially near the end.

Every time I tried focusing on that I died, did way more damage under the thing you just boost away when it jumps. The shield is pretty much the only problem when you are under it because it is a huge blindspot.
I spent 5 minutes breaking the knee and then it didnt seem to affect its mobility at all I was pretty disappointed.

I tried really hard to like this game and give it a chance. It looks really cool and I like the visuals, but at least with the guns in the demo it seems real boring even fighting the boss enemies.
I never played AC before either, so if you guys are happy with this I am happy for you all.

What's with the effective range mechanic? I get giving guns an effective range where being outside the max makes you plink, but why do they have a minimum as well in a game so focused on high mobility? There is no reason to use anything other than SMG since you will never be in that sweet spot for anything with a minimum range.

The kneecapd just shield a weak point. Go for those. You'll want to be level with the gunfort for most of the fight because you can counterattack when it does its big laser. More weak points show up on the cannon after it fires and you have a small window to shoot them off. Destroy all the weak points on it and the cannon breaks off. You can then pick it up and fire it back at it. You can take out all the weak points you'd been going for at the bottom in one fell swoop for massive damage.

Yep. After it fires its laser some weak points open up on the gun. Once you destroy all of them it drops the gun and gets stunned long enough for you to aim and fire it. I recommend aiming for it's belly.

Platinum did an interview where they said it's possible to expand Astral Chain into a trilogy based on how well it does. And it's doing very well.

Every time it fires there's 3 cores on its sides that pop out. Destroy all 6 and the cannon falls off and becomes useable.

The pacing of the game was surprisingly good. Although it takes it´s time to unchain you, the fact they let you loose in the area to explore and do non-combat related stuff let´s you get familiarized with the world and so when stuff start going to shit it feels more serious

the framerate improved a lot since the prototype, they are not removing videos, they have content ID set up to automatically claim revenue from any DxM video.

The dxm demo has been out for a bit. If you like it you can transfer you save data over, if you don't you can just delete it.

Play the demo. Framerates are consistent for the most part and I have no problemboutside of big dick mech nigger battles.

It's not that granular, sadly. Head, body, left arm, right arm, legs, processor. But every piece of equipment has slots you can equip mods to. More damage, more defense, recoil reduction, longer lock on range, etc.

Customization is a bit simpler it seems. Armor parts are just head, body, left arm, right arm, legs, and processor. Weapons are left hand, right hand, left pylon, right pylon, shoulder, and auxiliary. Weapons and armor parts can have up to three slots to add attachments which boost different stats a bit. Some attachments boost one stat and lower another. Weapons have variants with some stats shifted around such as more damage but less range and ammo. You can change the mech color (each part has three colors that can edited), but you can't change weapon colors. There's also a skill tree for your pilot.

The two co-op bosses each have a blueprint they can drop. You can make a shoulder launcher from the one the train drops, but the other can't be used yet. Other than that, you can mostly farm for weapons with three attachment slots and better attachments. There are also decals and paint patterns you can unlock by completing missions enough times.

If you just want to go through the campaign, it might seem a bit short (apparently ~15 hours). What's with the bullshit instakill barrier? The yellow one is so hard to see I dont even know I am near it before a big blast knocks me through to the red one.

Ah, my mistake. I didn't recognize that was the Osafune chest, and I picked the chest from red dog, so i didn't know what his legs looked like
