What the fuck were they thinking with that ending?

Let me guess, it relates to the World Trade Center?
Why was Ever17's ending so much better than Remember11's?
If you REALLY think about ever17. It's shit.
The ending is still better than Remember11's.
Reminder.
>The story is not over yet.
>It is an infinity loop!
Fuck 9/11 for making this discussion on this game difficult to search for online
Why would you even want information after the cheap ass cliffhanger ending?
Why did Yomogi and Utsumi let the serial killer who already killed their son hold their babies?.
can somebody spoil these games for me? tried getting them to work on my mac and eventually gave up, would love to know the stories
Because Uchikoshi and Nakazawa wanted a cheap hook, simple as that.
the ending is shit because they ran out of money and couldn't add the self route to the game
>they don't know
Doesn't matter, they could've cut the last two scenes out and the ending becomes exponentially less shit. At least that would've brought some closure for the characters.
But the hidden mystery and backstory behind it all is one of the things that makes R11 such an interesting and unique VN. If you cut that stuff out it would just be a generic good ending, without any interesting twists or mysteries to think about.
>But the hidden mystery and backstory behind it all is one of the things that makes R11 such an interesting and unique VN
That's one way of admitting you're a hipster. Even a generic end would've been far better than leaving it where they did.
But the actual twists themselves are excellent. Maybe it would have been better if Uchikoshi and Nakazawa were able to include the planned final route, but the way they ended it is better than cutting all of that stuff out entirely. It would be strange if an installment in the Infinity series didn't have any ending twists.
>It would be strange if an installment in the Infinity series didn't have any ending twists.
Remember11 already had a twist. All it had to do from there was bring closure to the story, at least for the characters as they know them. Instead they left everything on a literal cliffhanger, which basically ruined everything that came beforehand.
But the stuff about SELF and the Yukidoh Plan was planned out from the very beginning, it would be stupid if they undermined that by cutting everything out. It would still technically be unfinished, but without leaving any interesting mysteries to discuss.
they weren't
The first reviews for this game are starting to come out, and it's looking pretty positive so far.

most visual novel/vn likes have shitty endings because its some pseudo deep chuuni end, like shit jrpg on ps2.
Its rare they have nice endings
Weren't they pretty positive for Zero Time Dilemma?
I don't like what all KID writers doing now are fullblown sci-fi in futuristic or dystopic settings. Their older works were modern day mystery thrillers with sci-fi elements instead. Nakazawa lost it right after R11, Uchikoshi after 999 and 5pb after RN.
>Nakazawa lost it right after R11
It's been well documented he lost his mind after he wasn't allowed to write his Remember11 route, so he projected all his frustrations into I/O, in an attempt to recreate what he truly wanted to do.
Yeah, they were. Still, I'm fairly confident that AI will actually be good
C;C came after R;N, and it was the best game in the series.
Shill me on chaos;child, I saw the first episode on it and it looked way too weeby for me. I loved chaos;head first half so fucking much until the later "GOTTA BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP, ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
What's up with all those remember 11 thread in this month?
Have Yea Forums suddenly good taste again?
>First Episode
That's the problem user, the anime is dogshit.
The VN is pretty great imho, it does a lot of things well but it's the type of work that it doesn't sit well with every type of reader.
>first episode
The anime adaption is absolute shit, however the VN is excellent, it has even more suffering than Steins;Gate 0, and the plot twists are amazing.
How does it compare to Subahibi's true ending?
The VN itself is a good read, the ending feels like a kick to the groin but the whole let's call it "lore" behind it, it's pretty interesting imo, still that ending can not be forgiven, even if it's part of what makes it unique.
That pretentious wahmen is obnoxious shes only doing youtube for the money.
It wasn't bad but it was a full on chu2 game with tons of drama, it didn't deliver on the horror/denpa fronts compared to Chaos Head.
Actually imho
that's not the true true ending, the true ending is the "Wonderful Everyday" one, but because the player wanted answers he dewells into the thing that is not known, the thing that can't be spoken about.
Because it opens a bag of deat cats, it's the challenge thrown to the player by Sca-Ji and his team, you could say it's the ultimate circlejerk but it's also part of the charm of what makes WE a great read.
But that's my opinion. The goal of the MC is to achieve the Wonderful Everyday, but that may not the the goal of the player.
Mystery and lore should not take precedence over character closure, simple as.
I was far more engaged in the character struggles of everyone, and the end just pissed all over them in favor of more unresolved mystery.
This VN was something else...
>the true ending is the "Wonderful Everyday" one
I think the tone being different is one of the reasons why is it interesting. Chaos;Child is not a sequel to Head, it was it's own thing.
After all, having ecchi and drama with moments of "epic deduction" is the thing to be espected for a play, right?
At least try to be original...
Did anyone else read YU-NO?
How is the anime adaptation going? Doing it justice?
Me, I just read it some months ago.
I'm not following the anime but a friend of mine says it a alright adaptation, not great but not bad, just alright, it has some interesting things but overall it's just ok.
They were thinking "Oh shit, we ran out of money. Fuck it, just release everything we have so far."
>First episode
Unless the first episode really showed signs of being that bad, it doesn't really sell me on the VN
I have read YU-NO, Eve Burst Error, Subarashiki Hibi, Ever 17, Remember 11, White Album 2, Narcissu 1 and the first route of Yume Miru Kusuri. What should I read next?
Steins Gate or Higurashi or Umineko.
I dropped the anime the moment when Dela Grante arc started. It was pretty bad but not because the adaptation is bad. It's because the structure of the story is not really compatible with an anime adaptation, many scenes are jarring to watch.
It's a slow start, but it become amazing later after a certain point. And the anime's pace is really rushed, and therefore doesn't come close to doing the VN justice.
Remember11 doesn't even tell you that it ends. The plot itself is structured in a way that telling you that it had ended would actually break Satoru's plan of saving his sister (the most important character, who you wouldn't even know exists unless you unlock all the TIPs).
TnS2 is a indeed a very biblio ending, though
>youtube.com
>the best track of the OST is the comfy slice of life BGM
Say what you want, but Takeshi Abo really nails the main theme of the games. All of these VNs I just left on the title screens just to listen to them.

He's okay at doing title music. CC OST is filled with shameless rehashes of E17/R11 tracks though.
How does it compare to Remember 11's soundtrack?

Shikura Chiyomaru > Takeshi Abo

The remake OST is an acoustic version of his original OST, it's pretty good imo.
He's still writing vocal songs for his games, no? I almost teared up when Silent Wind Bell started playing, so I guess he still has something.
All it needed for that was the final Lin scene. Implying that a baby's about to be murdered then ending is a spit in the face to everything leading up to that point.
AFAIK he also decides on the leitmotifs and preferred chords with Takeshi Abo so he's still involved with the sound design of the games. Take it with the grain of salt though, I've read it in Yea Forums.
Jesus Christ, those hands
What's this supposed to represent?
How do you feel about Yomogi?
>It would still technically be unfinished
>and couldn't add the self route to the game
Holy shit, people actually believe this? People are actually dumb enough to believe this? Remember11 is finished, they wouldn't release an unfinished product. The story "not having an ending" traps you in the infinity loop because you try to find whatever you thought you missed.
But there was going to be a SELF route though, there's a reference to it in the game's files. Also, Uchikoshi and Nakazawa have both said that they didn't originally plan to end R11 the way they did.
> Also, Uchikoshi and Nakazawa have both said that they didn't originally plan to end R11 the way they did.
Then post the source. If it's well documented then surely that's not an issue for you.
>Nakazawa: I didn’t intend to make it like that. But I feel that’s what it ended up being.
>Uchikoshi: At that time, I felt it was a very experimental work, and I still feel that way. However, we weren’t aiming to be avant-garde (laugh).

gate of steiner is absolute dread and hope combined in a single piece of music. it's near perfect
the E17 one is 10/10 title material, not too hard to listen to and you'll remember it instantly once you hear a few notes
SG0 is okay but maybe that's just because I'm dissappointed overall
CC and R11 are the true elder god tier
is this your first time in a R11 thread? I thought everyone read that/knew that already
Who cares what Nakazawa said, Uchikoshi was the one with the power. Nowhere does Uchikoshi say anything about the ending being unintended.
and yet you're completely unable to prove it.
>Uchikoshi was the one with the power
literally the other way around, unlike Ever17, Remember11 was primarily Nakazawa's work.
>Nowhere does Uchikoshi say anything about the ending being unintended
he says "we weren't aiming to be avant-garde", which implies that they originalyl wanted a normal ending.
