Okay, I'm curious about Terry so I want to play Fatal Fury
Can you guys recommend one or two of the series' games?

Garou: Mark of the Wolves if you have to pick just one.

Real bout fatal fury is the "classic" one, it's unique for having 2d ring outs.

If you are familiar with street fighter, especially 3rd strike, you might get a kick out of Garou: Mark of the Wolves

Not that there's anything wrong with Fatal Fury, but Terry is also playable in all the King of Fingthers games and he's a good choice for beginners. They are 3v3 fighters that play quite differently to Fatal Fury, so you may want to try em out. I'd recommend either kof98 or kof2002

Coming from someone who has only played a bit of KOF in the past would any of you recommend fatal fury special or mark of the wolves?

I can't do shit in FF Special on MAME

Fatal Fury Special is the last of the classic-classic games, while Real Bout is a bit more modern. Real Bout 2 is that but without the ring outs.

Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 or Real Bout Special besides what everyone else is saying (MotW).

For a relatively quick overview of the story (if you care about that sort of thing) check out Memories of Stray Wolves on youtube. It's a special made by SNK.

If you're really curious, check out just plain Fatal Fury Special.

Akuma is pretty much Neutral Evil, yeah. Obviously he's got evil energies of darkness, but is selective about that and there's official stuff of him just doing normal people things like selling oranges. Ryu insists Akuma threw his humanity away, but then he replies back about his lack of discipline.
