Actually if you've ever wondered why there's sunlight in Sector 6 (and Aerith's house in Sector 5) or why the miniature Midgar in Shinra HQ has a broken piece (It's not Sector 7's, it's 6's), you can look at the opening's Midgar panning shot and you'll see the Sector 6 plate is broken (It's the one on the left).

The reason why it's broken is given in Before Crisis. The final boss blew the fuck up and destroyed the plate.

Crisis Core scared wallflower Aerith fearing the sky or sun is counter to her original adventurous character that wanted to fly the Highwind and see the world. Crisis Core once again doesn't know what it's talking about.

Cloud's perspective of his relationship to Tifa is someone who could have been a friend at one point but he had to maintain his distance, so he has it in his head he has to prove himself to her for her to acknowledge his worth.

Tifa on the other hand gradually came to think about him a lot after he left her childhood life, he saved her at Mt. Nibel but took the blame as a kid for her and her guilt turns into affection over time.

Not "a lot", but it's not as if it's vacuum-closed. The gaps between sectors are wide open, for example. IIRC the real issue is less the sunlight and more the pollution due to being the dumping grounds of the upper plates.
