I'm pretty sure it's not about whether you're playing videogames or not, but that you own a system specifically for playing games and you need to carry your videogames with you at any time. You look like a child who can't stay sit without playing his videogames for 5 minutes.

Also console videogames require some setup time and your full attention, so they're not suited for public transportation or small waits compared to other things like a phone or a book.
