Mods are great, but it always makes me laugh when people say they can't wait for a PC version of some games to get mods, as if every game under the sun is guaranteed to get mod support on the same level as Bethesda games. Most of the time you're lucky to get some shitty texture mods or an ugly lighting filter that cuts the framerate in half. People shouldn't automatically assume that there's gonna be quality, is what I'm saying.

Anything to distance itself from the failed Mike Mignola tracing of the actual game is a pro.

I downloaded Skyrim Romance because I wanted my character to feel loved and embraced in a way I never have been myself.

I got so emotionally invested in this mod that I revisit it every once in a while, even though I no longer play Skyrim regularly, just to hear an "I love you" and all of the other cheesy romance lines and also to masturbate.

It touched me more than any piece of commercialised software ever could and it represents what a group of people can do if they get together and decide to work on something they are passionate about. To answer your question, modding is great!

I was going to draw a lot of lewd version of the characters to use in my game but you have to properly fit every pixel in the same place as the original sprites otherwise it doesnt align well in the game, and doing that is too much of a pain.

Usually I wouldnt care but the dark over the eyes really adds to the overall depressive feel of the game.

It gets annoying when most of it is just stupidly broken homebrew stuff, but mods can be pretty cool ways of mixing up the game. If they're really fun, mods can even form the basis for entirely new games, like Killing Floor.

user, it's almost practically impossible to not base your work on something someone else made before you at some point in time, you weren't born in a vacuum, you don't get into art based on pure inherent instincts with no influence from other art you like. And having black voids for eyes was never Mignola's exclusive to begin with
