I was hoping someone would point this out. It never made sense to me in the slightest and was easily the strangest part of the ending to me.

Swat 4, despite releasing in 2005, wasn’t allowed to state the game took place in New York due to terrorism still being a sensitive topic. So the city’s name was changed to firelink city despite the game referencing real NY areas like Brooklyn, one of the swat team members mentions the Bronx. It was probably a last minute change.

If you do tanker-plant, raiden has a line where he says he feels like a legendary mercenary and scissors goes “right, we can skip that part.” If you choose to just play plant, raiden doesn’t say the line and scissors says “This is your first sneaking mission, don’t get caught”
