>What are some good games I can dump a ton of hours into? Definitely Splatoon 2
>>What are some good games to play on the go, that I won't need a fucking microscope to read stuff? Sega Ages Phantasy Star is pretty nice. Play on Ages mode.
Gabriel Phillips
>BotW Kino >NES Eh >SNES Should be fine beyond the abortion called Yoshi's Island being there. I wish you could hide games you didn't give a rat's ass about from view.
The Bayo games should give you more than a hundreds' worth of playtime as well as Astral Chain.
>What are some good games to play on the go, that I won't need a fucking microscope to read stuff? This will only apply to the soiboi variant called Switch Lite, user.
Adam Morales
Stardew, Octopath if you like squeenix rpgs, there are collections of older game series if you’re into that kinda stuff.
Asher Carter
What kinds of games do you like? it's easier to give recommendations if you tell me.
Thomas Stewart
>dump a ton of hours into Splatoon 2 Smash Xenoblade 2 if you're into REALLY niche JRPGs Dragon Quest XI S Fire Emblem Hyrule Warriors
>good games to play on the go Indie titles. I like Icey, Blasphemous, Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight TT, Celeste
Michael Roberts
>What are some good games I can dump a ton of hours into? If you like Musous, it's one of the best.
Get a real, gaming olatform then. Even an old 360 or something
Easton Ward
>I'll play any kind of games, honestly okay then
>What are some good games I can dump a ton of hours into? Mario Maker 2 Splatoon 2 Smash Ultimate Mario Kart
>What are some good games to play on the go, that I won't need a fucking microscope to read stuff? DKC: Tropical Freeze Mario Odyssey Bayonetta 2 Astral Chain Doom 64
David Richardson
How about you name what other platforms you have. Did you have wii u? Do you have a gaming pc? There are a lot of games I bought on switch just because I felt like it but could have gotten on another platform I own.
Aiden Cruz
Kill yourself
David James
Oh also Katamari Damacy Reroll. I forgot that one.
Robert Bennett
I have a good PC and my Switch. Nothing else.
Mason Campbell
It's tough having to deal with a super cutesy game that reminds you of how easy the days were when you were a toddler. No, I don't mean it in a console warring sense. I don't necessarily say it's shit because it's a terrible game (the consensus is that it's not), but rather because of the music and art style. I only say it's shit as a way of coping. You know, it's a very masculine thing to act tough and mighty even in situations that make you look weak. Yoshi's Island's aesthetics bring you down. I really must have a shitty brain to handle games like it. Okay, but you first, brother.
Matthew Cook
They added a zoom function, you know.
Ian Sanders
Deadly Premonition Origins Xenoblade Chronicles Old FF games if you haven't played them already Bayonetta 2
For games you can put tons of time into: DQ Builders 2 maybe. Rune Factory 4 Special, Animal Crossing, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition once they come out
Jack Morgan
Take your fucking meds I can barely understand your post
Levi Allen
>the main rpg phantasy star games are all playable on switch >have s8ds on my ds flashcart so i can play gaiden and the text adventure games
Holy shit I enjoyed these better than FF6 and FF4. Even 3 was decent.
Mason Evans
tell us a bit more user, what kind of games do you like? its hard to recommend you something that you might not enjoy, give us some genres
I would just stick to the console exclusives... I have been getting really comfy playing indie ports in bed before sleeping, but I can't in good concious recommend them if you have a good PC.
Smash is easily the most worthwhile investment. You do not even need to be good to enjoy it GSP is very balanced and you never get permanently curved into only ever fighting godly opponents like certain other games do. I am mediocre and play with like 5 characters, never stay in elite more than a few matches and idgaf.
And frankly, if you are already paying online but dont have an online game you should really just jump in and get one of the games that would use it.
Evan Nelson
To the base switch UI You can zoom at literally anytime during any game. Double tap home button
Can someone give me a complete rundown on buying a Switch? I would want a normal one, not the mini, so it looks like $300 for the console itself. But what about other things? If you want to play 2 player games do you need another set of controllers? Anything else? The Wii had so many "but you also have to buy this!" stuff that I suspect the Switch also has but there isn't a solid answer just by searching online which is odd.
Aiden Collins
Smash obviously, just avoid the community per usual. Not Astral Chain is pretty great and it's probably the best switch game I've played all year, but your criteria isn't looking great for it. I've been playing a lot of indies since they're cheap but know how fun works.(Death Road to Canada, Slay the Spire, Baba is You, etc.) Daemon x Machina comes out tomorrow. It's pretty easy to play on the go. If you like /m/ it's got Armored Core devs on its team. It comes out tomorrow. If you give me more specific genres in sure I can make better recommendations. Shooters? Platformers? What?
Ethernet adapter if you plan to play online and have less than stellar wifi. ~15-20 bucks. SD card with as many gigs you need for projected digital purchases. May want to skip the extra set of joy cons and go for a 3rd party USB controller. I have one that is switch and PC compatible. Not great quality but I rarely play with friends.
Nicholas Sanders
>all these people recommending splatoon 2 when there are no more splatfests, updates, and the online community is shit and waning
At least when splatoon 1 was done you could still walk around and see all the god tier nip artists drawings. Splatoon 2 just has “GAY SQUIDS REPRESENT” in poor hand writing. Also, Salmon Run only getting two extra maps was really disappointing.
Luis Clark
Smash obviously, just avoid the community for your own sake. I've been playing a lot of indies since they're cheap but know how fun works.(Death Road to Canada, Slay the Spire, Baba is You, etc.) Astral Chain came out at the beginning of the month. It meets your criteria for lots of play time (it's like 20+ hours) but by no means play it, or any hack and slash game in mobile mode. Daemon x Machina comes out tomorrow. It's pretty easy to play on the go. If you like /m/ it's got Armored Core devs on its team. If you give me more specific genres in sure I can make better recommendations. Shooters? Platformers? What? The Switch's library is really really big and that would help a lot.
Jose Rodriguez
>>What are some good games I can dump a ton of hours into? splatoon 2 smash bros fire emblem 3 houses xenoblade 2
>>What are some good games to play on the go, that I won't need a fucking microscope to read stuff? puyo tetris mario tennis ace lumines
Matthew Ortiz
Want to waste tons of hours? Dragon Quest Builders
Jack Brown
If you have really small hands you can get away with playing 2 player games with one joycon each. Otherwise you really should just get another controller.
Carter Edwards
You Have 24H to buy Smash Ultimate or else your pc will set on fire
Jose Ramirez
I think a group of 4 of us might even get together sometimes and play Mario Kart so I might as well get another set of the joycons. I assume Mario Kart with the motion controls works if you just have one joycon, similar to a wii remote. It's enough of an excuse to just go ahead and get two full controllers.
>botw >nintendo online I've put 160 hours into BotW and didn't even realize that it had an online feature.
Logan Baker
It's just cloud saves, apparently.
Julian Collins
>double tap home button *Drunkenly proceeds to switch between Into the Breach and the menu screen for a minute and a half before deciding you're just spouting nonsense.
Adam Campbell
>I'll play any kind of games, honestly That's what I used to think before I got a Switch. There's just so much available, and so much highly rated that constantly goes on sale. I filled up my 400gb card and realized I much prefer certain genres over others (yeah, turns out I really don't like roguelites and most modern action JRPGs).
Most 4 player games like mario party support 1 joycon for each while I dont think there are really any dual stick games that support more than 2 if they have multi at all. A set is like 80, compared to buying 3 sixty dollar controllers for 4 player on another platform. Most essential thing is a carrying case, you will want something safe to put it in if you ever take it out of the dock.
Wii has a bunch if junk but besides motion plus they were each only used onike 2 games. Just dont buy shit like labo or the new stupid ring thing and dont worry about it.
Jayden Hughes
Hollow Knight if you haven't grabbed it yet
Ryan Carter
An SD card is basically a necessity. Outside of that I'd recommend either a pro controller or an 8bitdo (the pro+ finally came out and looks pretty nice). I don't have a screen protector, a dock sleeve, or a carrying case and haven't had any problem (I also play 90% in handheld and never take it outside, though). I also picked up a $10 charging dock for the pro controller, which is actually really nice (slide the switch into the dock and the controller into the dock next to it and both are fully charged next time you pick them up).
Easton Parker
Yeah the fact that you're basically buying two controllers for 50-60~ dollars is pretty nice compared to the pure jewry that is PS and Xbox controllers. I'm guessing most micro SD cards work, right? I have plenty ready for use.
Thanks for the help.
Lucas Brown
>guessing most micro SD cards work, right Yeah, but I'm still not really sure how switching between multiple cards works.
Jaxson Torres
Makes sense that the person calling Yoshi's Island shit is also a nutjob
Owen Hall
Im selling mine to a coworker, got it for mario maker 2 and enjoying it enough but not enough to justify spending the money for it. It was a rushed purchase and I usually know better. Only had the thing for a couple weeks.
Isaiah Foster
Unless you have not been updating your system because of hacking or something you should be able to do it. Look this shit up, it is there. You may have to enable it in the settings or something, I am not sure.
Cooper Moore
Version 9.0 updated yesterday. It's just a feature I didn't know existed and didn't work when I just tried it.
Michael Price
you have to enable it in the system options don't forget to breathe btw
Isaac Campbell
>*inhales deeply and coughs for 3 minutes straight Neat. Not sure how I never noticed that before. Too bad there's no easy way to get screenshots onto your computer.
Kevin Rivera
Yeah most Micro SDs work, but I would get something that has faster read/write speeds. Generally larger capacity ones are fast.
Also Joycons are meh in my opinion. If you plan to play Mario Party with 4 people, maybe invest in a set, otherwise, just grab a Pro Controller or alternatives. The Pro Controller feels nice, but the dpad is sup-par.
Nathan Morris
You can just copy all the data over, same with 3ds. It is surprisingly painless, I have gradually been switching to bigger ones. Doing it between systems is the only thing that causes hiccups.
Connor Moore
I hate that myself too. Either keep taking the SD card out, or make a burner Twitter account for wireless uploads.
Adam Williams
Only stuff we'd be played with 4 players is Mario Kart or something like Mario Party yeah. I might get a controller on the side for myself for other games if it turns out I don't like using the joycons together as a full controller.
Isaac Young
I know the fastest ones only go up to like 64gb, but I am hearing there are no issues getting 128 or bigger ones that arent super fast and getting those ones is unnecessary. The 64 one really isnt cutting it for me so I am wondering if this is okay. I have had trouble in past with external HD speeds and wii u but granted those games werent scaled down like switch gsmes. I would love to get the 256 one.
Isaac Watson
>just copy all the data over My card is full though, and I already have multiple games archived. Ideally I'd like to get a second card and divide up my games based on handheld/docked (and obviously keep most things on both). I also pre-ordered a lite and have no idea how easy it will be to play the same games on both (almost my entire library is digital).
Robert Sanders
Yeah for ultimate price/utility ratio, I would just get a second pair of joy cons, especially since that's the ONLY way to play Mario Party, and it will work for a lot of other party-type games like MK8.
As far as comfort, I would test it out for an extended play session to see how you like it. I personally don't think it's too bad, but I definitely prefer the Pro or something like it.
I currently have a Samsung Evo 128 since I bought the Switch and it's been fine. A 256 one is like 40 bux on amazon.
Cameron Diaz
>make a burner Twitter account But surely someone will dig it up in 20 years when I'm running for president and see hundreds of pic related.
Because the internet is a thing, and will only become more of a thing, and I don't know how to set up a Twitter account behind 7 proxies. I honestly only have 3 passwords I've been using for the past 20 years, for everything.
Aiden Adams
Dragon quest builders 2 was fantastic and blew my expectations away. DQ builders 1 is also good but limited in comparison to 2
Jose Cooper
So people are gonna track down the IP you used 20 years ago to post something to a Twitter that has no identifying demographics and determine it was from your location you were at that time? Also 20 years from now pretty much everyone would have been looking at some sort of weird hentai at some point so who cares?
Leo Wright
Deadly Premontion is on the System, so I'm legally required to recommend it.
Gabriel Cruz
>people are gonna track down the IP you used 20 years ago to post something to a Twitter that has no identifying demographics and determine it was from your location you were at that time? Yes, that's honestly how I imagine the internet 20 years from now. Based.
Mason Moore
> Good games I can dump a ton of hours into? FE3H is shaping up nice, but fans of the series will hate you for getting into it now. Then again, fans of the series will hate you no matter when you got into it, so that doesn't matter too much. Astral Chain is surprisingly fun. And of course, Splatoon 2.
Maybe grab the Xenoblade remake when it comes out. And Mario Odyssey.
James Thomas
Not OP, but has Splatoon ever gone on sale? I've had my Switch for almost a year now and paid for online (because I put so much money in initially I figured why not? And then Tetris 99 came out and was worth the price alone), but don't really play any online games. I've been considering Smash but just don't really understand the appeal and am not into fighting games. I haven't paid full price for a game since I picked it up with Zelda and Mario, and if I'm going to pay $60 I'd much rather get Octopath, Xenoblade, or even Mario Maker before a fighting game.
Nathaniel James
I think it's ben like 15 bux off at the most.
A lot of first party Nintendo IPS seldom see discounts.
Owen Stewart
I have a 256gb and it’s been working fine
Joseph Kelly
t. ranny
Ayden Rivera
>first party Nintendo IPS seldom see discounts I wish I knew this when I picked mine up. It's my first Nintendo since the 64 and first system where you can instantly purchase games online at the click of a button. After my initial purchase I decided I'd only buy games when they were at least 50% off (I've actually gotten to the point where I have to delete things from my wish list because you can only have 200 games), and now I have over 100 games, but looking back I'd much rather exchange half of those games and pick up 3-4 AAA games I now know will never go on sale.
Henry Evans
You can make it so nobody else can even see your tweets.
I'm nowhere near some kind of conspiracy freak, but that shit will exist on Twitter forever. I know it's hypocritical when I'm posting here every day, but social media shit is just connected to everything these days, even if you make a "burner" account.
Connor Brown
>I'm nowhere near some kind of conspiracy freak You kind of are.
