She becomes less useful as the game progresses. Her offenses are still good, but they can't carry her forever and her paper-thin defenses and lack of range and mobility hold her back late game. While her speed is good, her abysmal strength and high weight magic mean she won't be getting many nearly doubles as she'd like.
You'll get more usefulness out of a Dark Knight Marianne or Ingrid or Gremory Dorothea who pack the damage along with utility, range and mobility.

The crux of her character is that she thinks her crest is going to turn her into a monster user. That is the reason she is praying for death. Oh, but wait, it turns out her crest doesn't actually turn her into a monster and she is just being retarded. She is pretty fucking one note and boring since every single one of her supports is basically copy paste with the only change being other people reacting to her depression.

I kept getting fucking bodied in the mock battle because best bois Claude and Dimitri do too much damage and Edeltards crew is hot garbage.

I can't imagine a route where Edelgard and Dimitri team up requiring anything less then an apocalyptic scenario. Sure you might be able to recruit everyone but you'll be a band of roaming survivors in a slither ruled radioactive crater.

I find her character arc well paced and believable, the best one in the game outside the main lords. Watching her go from lying about her prayers, to struggling to lie about her prayers, to coming clean as she comes to want to live, to confronting the source of her "curse", to wanting to continue becoming a stronger person

Did I fuck up playing this game? Want to eventually do a completionist route and so went BL first with the plan of GD>BE>BE(church). I'm on chapter 18ish on BL and I'm just bored to tears. Have my social links maxed, the combat is easy, I find myself just resting or doing seminars until the story events happen.

I LOVED the beginning of the game, but now that all my characters are the classes I want them to be and murder-machines, shit is too easy. Did I fuck up not recruiting every other student? I wanted to see the story of each house instead of just using best units each playthrough.

You're meant to play every route, recruiting all characters into one house in NG is tedious and time consuming. Don't worry about it being easy, it is definitely one of the easier FE games, you aren't alone.

I think after doing all of the tragic and bittersweet stories, a nice happy ending would be good.

You actually did it right not recruiting them. It gets pretty easy in combat and I got super bored with the monastery halfway through the time skip as well. Just explore the first day of the month then rest and do seminars or whatever paralogues open up. You are basically just waiting for the next story chapter. The last BL chapter is maybe the hardest in game too since you can't just dump Dimitri in the middle of the map and let him work.

All the school chapters feel like shit outside of BL too though for your next play through though.

I guess she won't be happy since I'm in GD house.

Take 2 vulneraries per person. Give petra bernie's bow. I went petra, linhardt and hubert, tanked lorenz with byleth and killed both lorenz and ignatz with edelgard to get her to 2. Byleth should be 2 or 3. Tank ashe with petra and kill with hubert. Then walk all the way around to the left, get edelgard to tank hilda. Hilda is dead with petra wrath and byleth doubling. Then, get Linhardt and Edelgard to nosferatu/wrath strike Claude respectively, and Hubert should be able to kill him off.

Tank manuela with linhardt, have edelgard move to manuela's heal tile, have one or the other tank mercedes. Let byleth tank Dedue, and then kill mercedes with edel and byleth, killing dedue with the other three. Don't be in range of dimitri, since he deals more damage on offense. Then he goes down in one turn.

Sylvain seems to be made or broken by his growths. In my BL playthrough, he was alright. Never anything spectacular but he got his fair share of kills and soaked a lot of hits. Never did as much damage as some of the other units in the army though.

To be fair, the Crest items act more like items that you can remove, replace, and change like any other weapon for your characters. And if this site: serenesforest.net/three-houses/characters/crests/ is correct, the activation rate for characters using Crest items are lower than characters with minor Crests. Even if the Crest items were in-game canon that Hanneman invented, characters with even minor Crests are still better off, let alone those who have major Crests.

I'm at the first mission mission with theives in vanilla maddening and it feels impossible. How is anyone suppose to do without NG+? Students are too weak, every enemy doubles, and almost nothing has above 70% accuracy.

Thinking of giving up and doing a NG+ run, it feels like this was designed with NG+ in mind.

They usually don't live very long like Ly or El or literally all of El's siblings that didn't survive. Which is all of them. Also, they end up turning into monsters or go insane. Slitherers don't care about surface dwellers and see anything related to the dragon as abominations. Besides, that only happens in the Empire where they have reach, in the Kingdom and everywhere else, they're dying out as Sylvain points out in his supports.

Hubert is just playing it smart and realizes they don't have a choice in the matter. They have nukes that can destroy entire castles and they don't know where they're located until the very game of the game. Empire is controlled by the Molepeople and Edelgard and Hubbie care more about the Empire than they do about the rest of the continent.

Sacred weapons still exist that doesn't require Crests to use their powers. And Hanneman pretty much manufactures a second-rate knock off these weapons for those who don't have Crests in his epilogue. That's better than relying on a small group of people with superpowers who the only ones allowed to wield even a smaller number of weapons that aren't being mass manufactured anymore.
