P5 is not just disappointing, it's an actual pile of trash.
I'm not a big fan of the franchise and i never expected it to be good in first place but what i got was a disjointed narrative that loses itself right after the fucking Kamoshida's castle, TONS of repetititve filler and some of the worst turn based JRPG combat system i've ever seen and i've played a shit ton of JRPGs. The game is a fucking disaster, it's just a disaster covered by stylish visuals and somewhat good if extremely repetitive soundtrack so normalfags eat this shit and ask for more.
Don't worry, most people defending Persona 5 haven't actually played it - they just think it looks cool.

It means that 90% of the story is villain of the week garbage with no strong overarching narrative, and the fact game tries to clumsily connect it all by the end only makes everything worse.
There's no flow between the story arcs, no organic development that would lead from one point of the plot to another. After Kamoshida's palace the whole team is literally clueless about what to do next so they simply randomly bump into another unrelated villain, and this pattern repeats itself time and time again with only Futaba's arc being an exception, though it's still paced like a complete garbage with her sleeping over a month after you resolve her issues.
On top of that confidant arcs are not built into the game. Any character development characters are getting through it is ignored by the story.

yeah because it's Final Fantasy and 10 years of dev time should of made for a perfect game.
