>Sort of new scam going around on steam where you were tricked into thinking that someone unintentionally reported you for item duplication, which is apparently not a thing?
>It turns out you gave your account info to the person you were linked too who you thought was an admin, but they actually weren't apparently?
I mean, they seem nice and even upped my profile level apparently, but how do I get my account back? It's weird, they even gave me the info to their account, so it's either genuine and he really did fuck up or it's just a scam OR they're trying to swap their account with mine?
Help me please.
I fucked up
I can help user hold on let me get a mod
>MOD: Hello, I am a Yea Forums moderator, I can get your account back but you'll need to give me your credit card number, expiry and CV2
>MOD: Sincerely, the Moderator
Something similar happened to me but instead of getting my steam hacked, I lost some valuable TF2 items......Valve isn’t restoring those fucking stranges bro.
You're a troglodyte. Take this lesson to heart and don't fuck up again. There's literally warnings in the steam chats to not give away account information. How old are you and how much was the account worth?
Wait.
You gave your account information to some dude?
I thought it was legitimate and they changed my password and the email associated with it, trying to get it back now.
Is your name TrineWarrior by any chance?
No. You deserved that.
And why the fuck are you asking us for help? Ask Steam support.
Ask me how I know you are under 18
It's a scam. In fact most things with chat systems will warn you that mods will never ask for account info
>new scam
>ask for login info
heh
Make like the DNC and say you were hacked. That way you won’t seem like a complete fucking retard.
Steam can just pull up the chat logs and see exactly what happened.
Not if they don’t have a reason to.
>giving out your account info
>ever
Shit warning against this is posted literally everywhere you make an account for something. Retard. Unless youre dumb under age, but still retard. I dont know how to help you, but I hope you contacted Steam support already. Hopefully they can unJUST you.
>new scam
>pretending to be an admin and asking for account info
This is truly cutting edge scamming.
I guess if people like OP are still falling for it it's gonna stick around.
Never give anyone your account info dumbass.
Nigger it literally says to never give your password in the chat window or at least it used to before the UI change.
Get the fuck out you underage retard
That isn't new you fucking dunce. You deserve this
Why the fuck do people still fall for this? The rule number 1 of the internet is never give out account details or other sensitive information to ANYONE EVER over chat or email.
Is this what normies mean when they were "hacked"?
Fucking retard
There's always the possibility than user is over 81.
holy fuck you must be underage to fall for the oldest trick in the book. Like rule 1 is to never ever give you password to anyone and rule 2 is to check if your e-mail has been compromised by any webpage you have signed up to.
>they're trying to swap accounts
What retarded logic makes you think they're going to swap? If they can get your shit, why would they give you anything back?
I mean it's obvious you're young and naive and still learning that the world is a shit place full of liars thieves and assholes, but still, there's a lack of logic here too.
"Admins" will never ever ask for your account or password. Any actual "admin" of -anything- will be able to pull up your account name before you ever consider telling them. Most of them don't need a password to fuck with/fix your account because their official systems and Admin access let them bypass that shit. Remember this for the rest of your life as a lesson.
This must be bait. You cannot be serious.
My brother got hit by this scam and i'll tell you the same thing I told him.
You are shit out of luck, you dumb ass mother fucker.
>lend my alt steam account to a zoomer
>he gets it stolen
make sure to call mommy when you get stuck out late at night on the street. you fucks are big marks
>"give me your login and pass pls, not going to steal it, I promise!"
wait, people actually fall for this?
>this user is underage
Yeah you're about 12
I'm fucking 24. Just sleep deprived and dumb.
you logged into a scam site and gived them your login info you dumbass
Yeah no shit you're retar- MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
>you gave your account info
>new scam
lol
FREE TRIMMING
NOT A SCAM
Bullshit, morons like you don't live that long before getting fucked by baby's first scam and learning your lesson
retard
This happened to my little brother a while ago. Are you ten?
Anyway, email Steam support.
then you must be new as fuck to the internet. even then, common sense not to give your info out. you need to be ridiculed for your own good.
Haha, OP is a retard too... Same shit happened to me, but I don't remember when it happened but I know it was at least 1 and 1/2 years ago. You and I share the same problem of sleep deprivation. If you don't get enough sleep, you do really dumb shit. Get more sleep and learn from this.
The only thing even more retarded I can think of is the classic "Jagex censors your password see *********" scam people pulled in Runescape
>Never tell your password to anyone.
The average runescape player at least had the excuse of being 12 years old
This, OP’s a retarded master baiter.
>he won't give up his password when asked
That's... disturbing, to say the least. Literally. If you have nothing to hide then there's no reason NOT to. Only pedos and pirates keep their passwords to themselves.
>b-b-but haxors might steal my video games!!
Then report them and get your video games back? Not that hard, creep.
Yep, pretty much every time. It's always either this or they downloaded FreeFortniteCoins.exe.
