Play as a hammer wizard

Attached: Succ.jpg (1024x768, 185K)

should i want this game if i never played the old fallout games
is it good y'all won't shut the fuck up about it so is it real good or what

No.

It is considered the holy grail by boomers because it's the only CRPG out right now that captures to the true old school feel, it's more genuine and autistic than stuff like let's say pillars of eternity. Old Fallouts are some of my favorite games but I dislike Underrail because the setting and aesthetic is a cliched as fuck. If you haven't played any CRPGs then there's only one way to find out of you'll like it.

Can I complain about how shit the game and these shilling threads are instead?

Attached: why even bother living.png (746x717, 102K)

Okay...

see here

Or you could make another Smash thread instead
Since you cannot discuss videogames here

>start expedition
>first thing i do is use juice under yahota's watchtower to go back to core city
>come back
>all of aegis is now hostile

so why is it like this? i knew that fucking off on your own and exploring the black sea before getting sent on the facility quests did this but i wasn't expecting going literally anywhere would trigger them

>It is considered the holy grail by boomers
top kek mate, surely nobody thinks this is the holy grail of anything, its trash.
>autistic
>cliched as fuck.
Agreed.

then i guess i'll just have to grab it
thanks m8

I have seen you talk about this game here multiple times but though it was some kind of rts or an rpg where you control a full party but i watched the hey hey people review and it looks like its a fallout style full rpg?.

Can you guys make me wanna buy it?

dilate more faggot. Smash and Classic WoW threads are equally as cancer as these daily posts by the same 3 dudes circle jerking each other off.
>discuss videogames here
>underrail

There's no party nor companions, it's just you

Okay big b0ss
You make da rules

then why are you here in the first place?

Thanks for understanding user, also checkem.

>First time in old junkyard is absolutely horrible

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

WHO CARES ABOUT BUILDS WHEN YOU'VE GOT THIS SHIT

Attached: 1564415202354.gif (209x301, 11K)

I have a fetish for trash and I'm mid jerk, thought it would help.

You do know you can hide threads numbskull
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it needs to be removed
At least these threads stay confined, smash and WoW faggots are literal cancer with how many threads pop up with them

>Video 2 days ago
>threads appeared 2 days ago

I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

hahaha op, you saw the sseth video too? xD EPIC!

You are stupid. There's been threads since July, when the expansion released. Hell even Sseth says in the video he was given the day that day, you mongoloid.

Do you have short term memory or you just really like shitposting?

Do you even have to ask that question?
Don't even acknowledge them. That's what they want.

>crossing the entire foundry to bernard
>walking back with 75q super steel

>Game gives a unique autosave before arena matches so you don't have to watch the cutscene again

Nice touch

>y'all

How come I only ever see high quality laser emitters, but never electroshock or plasma emitters?

Because you're looking in the wrong places and your rabbi powerlevel is low.

I'm thinking about buying the game, is the story any good? I don't really care about gameplay that much other than the extent and consecuences of my choices.

Sounds like the perfect game for me then
Do spare us and go make a new sofcore hentai/wow classic thread instead faggot

>is the story any good
It's not some epic boogaloo, it is grounded so automatically better than many game stories. Actually, side stories side writing, so to speak are occasionally great. But don't expect great C&C, it is game about lonely exploration.

And thus, it ends

Attached: End game.jpg (1024x768, 155K)

The story is generic post apocalyptic bullshit with illuminati, corps scheming, mutants and aliums, the game is mostly about killing things in fancy ways.

The story is okay-ish, but the writing shines at world-building.

>I don't really care about gameplay that much
This might not be for you then. For long, long periods of time you'll just be murderhoboing around caves, enjoying every second of it - but not for story reasons.

Feel so empty after.

Oh, alright then. I'll pirate it and see if I like it enough to keep playing and buy it or not, thanks!

Not as empty as the Expedition Isle
Guess I will continue my psi-less Hoplite run now

Reminder:
Classic > Oddity

>t. i went to depot a at level 16
on classic you level too fast, the game stops being hard since you'll be outlevelling anything and anyone

Confess.

Attached: DepotAFilterchecl.png (934x808, 567K)

With oddity it's near impossible to hit the cap without going full autist. Should have had more XP in the late-game areas.

can i play this game if i'm a brainlet?

How can you be a chad if you are a psi bitch?

Extremely based and redpilled.
>Chad
>PSI
heh

Attached: 125612.jpg (249x249, 8K)

it's A+music and atmosphere, character building, but holy hell you have to use everything you get or get crushed in encounters, or just got 40 stealth right off the bat.

>PSI
>anything but chad
With nothing but your will alone, you are able to utterly demolish the universe, distorting the laaws of physics, summoning lightnings, punching shit with your mind so hard they die and able to distort the fabric of time so hard that the universe backlashes into your distortions, making you able to erase things from history, alongside cucking people by telling em to dilate.

Psi is ultimate chad skills. Who else can peer into the Abyss and become stronger by it?

It would be extremely painful.

i downloaded base game from cs rin ru and can't seem to find a crack, don't want to download the dlc because it's three times bigger in size. any help?
>inb4 buy it
want to try if it works on my 2005 machine first. i dont have steam

I aint the wizard hammerer user. Chill and take your red pill.

Detection stat needs a buff or something, I almost never detect things ahead of time even with cave bat/detection goggles.

How much harder is DOMINATING compared to hard?

psi is stupid and wrong

Uh oh! A psionic array of ezras block your way! What do you do?

Am I going to need to get past that five-man raider team to get the key to this vault? Even with traps set up they annihilate me. Pretty sure I’ve explored the rest of the area bar a few parts locked behind hacking parts.

no problem bruh

What five man raider team are you talking about?

why haven't you guys fucked off to /vg/ already. Yea Forums is for memes not regular game discussion

When I go to the bottom floor of the facility and out the cave entrance there’s some shanty-like buildings and a team of five marauders, one of which I can barely scratch.
This is the vault for the really early game quest, in case there’s another later one.

How viable it is to play as a tank in this?

buy it faggot

There are no vehicles in this game

Anybody else uninstalled every game they had just to make sure you dont play anything else by accident?

I take you're talking about the GMS building?
You can hack the turret to kill the raiders in the main floor while the other three go down to a grenade and a few shots.

I’ve dealt with the ones inside the building, it’a the ones outside that are giving me trouble. I guess they aren’t essential to the quest and I should keep looking around.

I'm going to take that has a no, fuck why I can't never play the build I want in those type of games

>it’a the ones outside that are giving me trouble.
Wait, you mean the ones in the outer encampment in the caves?
Those are completely optional and harder than the rest, a stealthy approach is the only way to deal with them easily by then, if you have high PER there's a small passage in the bridge section which will take you straight behind the chief's building so you can take him down silently with a stealth build and then take care of the rest of the pack.

Attached: 1552757749840.webm (500x209, 94K)

the emporion shopping mall is the true final area of the game

Where do I get a spear blueprint?

Junkyard/Camp Hathor

Sucks

So what dictates vendor's stock?

Some items seem to be there permanently, and others disappear if I leave the area briefly and come back.

I kinda wish this game had respecs. But at the same time, I realise it'd take a bit away from it to just suddenly switch from being a 20IQ Sledgehammer Luddite to a 400IQ Big Brain Megamind.

I just want to be able to move around a few points here and there.

the hunting dude in the main area of junkyard (name starts with a K) should always have it if im not mistaken. you can ferry over there from the beginning of the game and snatch it

The only thing i wasnt able to do was to kill the weird guy with the op sword. I had no idea how to trigger that fight. I even finished dc and returned and roamed for a while waiting but i guess he pussied out

If you leave the area and stay away for around 30 minutes their inventory resets, but most vendors have some stuff they always sell like certain blueprints

Just make a manual save every level bre

I never played FO1 and got like 3 hours into FO2 before giving up due to the awful interface but I have 260 hours in this. Its not a boomer exclusive, its just a great game with hollow knight levels of value for money

are pure throwing builds complete crap? i attempted my own on normal and it went okay until mid game

What the fuck is a hammer wizard

>depot A as a melee-range perceptionlet with piss-poor hacking and lockpicking
this is hell and i'm not even getting anything to show for it.

Attached: 1502394631662.gif (133x242, 355K)

Hammer+psi.

I just did dudes quest and wondered what would happen if you left early like this. First attempt i robbed the jetski place before I left and turned all of core city hostile but only realised after returning 20 hours in...

It means he's gay
Might as well restart with a better allocation you're just finishing the tutorial anyways

Traps, caltrops, nets and nades. Spam them

depot A's purpose is to tell you if your build is garbage or not
please don't tell us you attempted a non-specialized build

A wizard that casts hammer spells.

mates this isn't my first rodeo, it's just far more aggravating than usual
and not getting to open anything is a real pisser.

Temporal manipulation build

Its £10 for 100+ hours of pretty well written and built world with loads of interesting and viable builds. All the usual rpg stuff if you like that, only problem I think some people might have is no comfy party adventures but its more broody one man against the world blade runner feel

Ive seen anons spam that insane spear throw build that crits for 1k

It's ok little padawan, baby steps.
You'll do better next time.

>playing a sledge run
>jew out a set of steel armor
>stock up on molotovs and frag grenades
>bomb my way through Depot A
>get to the end and find the rotor circuit
>enter last building to loot
>some old fucker Wyatt acts like a cunt
>literally why would you live here
>slap him for the fun of it
>he tears my asshole a new one
>spend the next few hours trying to see if I can kill him for shits and giggles
>mfw I finally dab on his grave by setting a shitload of beartraps that I gathered throughout the run infront of his door, molotov spamming his home to flood him out then whacking him on the head with a sledge.
There's a Jackknife you get somewhere early on and holy shit is it useful for passing lockpick checks

Attached: 1543354946370.webm (384x480, 391K)

Things are going to be tough on your first rodeo, hang in there this game doesn't hold your hand like you're used to

Drop 75 weight infront of the refining chick beforehand then she can magically transform it into fibres that weigh 1 woo

Damn, Sseth really have a following here.

He makes a video, less than an hour later a thread about the game he just review will be created.

Attached: 1568159703142.jpg (1370x2048, 320K)

Ah.
Well, then either muscle through or respec with different early feats i guess.

fuck i wish i was as cool as that kid

>Filtered

Underrail threads have been up on Yea Forums almost non-stop since the expansion dropped, and thank God because it's almost the only place that dicusses this game.

Time to reroll

we've been having daily threads for months now

Attached: 236236_8.jpg (630x630, 36K)

What's a good agility build? I want to be rock-climber man supreme

Attached: Bears_cliff.webm (1280x720, 2.19M)

Did my first playthrough on oddity and was 22 after doing absolutely everything (no expansion) before dc. Replaying on classic and I havent even begun the tchortist part and I'm lvl 24, its a shame its not balanced very well because oddity is so unique and changes the way you play but you are gimping yourself.

>tfw not good enough for dominating

Tfw I wanna play an assassin type character but I feel lacking unless I go all psi a s 10 con and end up rerolling again because I still want utility and pick more crafting and hacking, lockpicking, traps etc and then reroll when I feel I'm lacking in other areas.
How much dodge/evasion do I need or is psychokinesis enough for defence? I kinda want mind controll for the hide in combat skill also. 6int/wis rest agility and dex? Dex10? Daggers or unarmed? Is pickpocketing usefull? Throwing knives ok or just a meme? And last, expertise and daggers/unarmed, waste of time or actually good?

Don't worry you can heavily abuse oddity system once you know where the hobo crumbs are.

>they just sit around and chill, occasionally helping me analyze alien artifacts
thanks for the battery Ezra

You're a one man team so not doing damage isnt an option. It's very possible to be a high strength and constitution heavily armoured and shielded monster that just sits there and assault rifles people down if thats what you mean?

Dodge and evasion suck just ignore them

>tfw not AUTISTIC enough for dominating*
fixd

I honestly cant imagine playing this game with no hacking and lockpick but you can easily beat depot A with almost any build with enough savescumming and bear traps

Yeah, that, I was thinking on going riot gear + spear build but I hate having to rely on crits

It really isn't that similar to the OG Fallouts, it annoys me that people compare it to them so much. The gameplay is different, the emphasis is on exploration, its thematically entirely different with Underrail being straightforward cyberpunk/sci-fi while while Fallout is all about muh humanity and so on. The similarities are only skin-deep, really. The setting might be "post-apocalyptic" in both, but Underrail might as well be set on a different planet.

>these soibois with soibrains who are too stupid to understand the chad mentality of using psi powers to add extra dimensions to one's own musculature and use psi powers to research ever muscle fiber in one's body for complete chadification
You are disqualified and mediocre.

Attached: 1567444546617.png (565x569, 278K)

Stfu PSIshitter

Sorry, i just sometimes enjoy a little challenge from my enemies.

Stay away from me soiboi and do not speak in my direction, i'm germphobic.

they're pretty good if you can invest a lot of points into them. also depends on the build
completely negating damage > reducing damage
you may run into troubles with the rare dudes that can actually aim but you've got an energy shield for that

I'm playing no psi 3 con max dex fister and its going fine, the extra 25% health loss for psi and mind control might put you over the edge of impossible tho. You basically need agility and fancy footwork to run around corners all the time. Evasion is useful as it also stops you getting 1 hit by grenades as well but dodge has never really done much for me, melee enemies your level always have enough melee to hit you pretty consistently.

The problem I've seen with spears is that defensive melee weapons and heavy armour means you hyper rely on the sprint feat as without it you can barely get in range to hit anyone. Crits are pretty reliable with the recklessness feat but yeah that kind of goes against the whole tank thing

>want to play as a pistol wielding gunslinger who intimidates people
>not viable at all
guys...

Attached: 1563774667027.png (493x490, 210K)

Should be fine on normal, you are just much better off using an SMG

Fuddy fowh stoppin powah

Don't be a soft cock and just do it.

Whats a fun build to go through the game for a second time? I did power fist / psi monk last time. I want something different but apparently they've kept fleshing out psi even more and more so you essentially miss out on half the game if you dont pick it.

>max stealth
>take interloper feat
>if in combat dodge and evade everything and fuck off 3 screens away to restealth
>pass agi checks to skip half the map
don't remember the last time I actually fought anything, even crawlers cant catch up to me

You can easily afford to waste points on intimidate on normal difficulty. Pistols are fine, spec ops guy with all the grenade feats and executions with the pistol is a really fun build to role play

Oddity is just obnoxious, especially in the blacked sea. You end up tearing through zone after zone of just endless streams of enemies without anything to show for it other than maybe a minute of lore content two hours into your massive geonice of the entire native population that played out exactly the same in every new area. Same shit with the pirates, except there you don't even get the lore at the end.

yea but my aesthetic...

>You end up tearing through zone after zone of just endless streams of enemies without anything to show for it
All those high quality pelts and monolith coke alone are worth it.

strawpoll.me/18625203

Dual wield frat when

Just try an opposite build bre, so many build dynamics in underrail. Do a trenchcoat sniper or a science pistol nerd, the gunplay is pretty cool.

Will unlocks maybe 15 mins of extra lore readings sure, but non-psi is an entertaining 40 hrs challenge.

Oddity respects player agency.

If you like to grind your numbers, go play a farming simulator like shitty warframe.

Oddity is for the masterclass gamers

>First run through the game pick oddity xp because it sounds fun
>Every time the difficulty spikes I search around and find out it's because I'm underleveled
>Killed every hostile enemy, picked/hacked every lock I can, and obsessively search everything I find for oddities
>Still missing a shitload somehow

What were they thinking?

Is fend even good?

I like oddity more just for the fact that you don't HAVE to kill enemies to get exp

BUT MUH MASTERCLASS ODDITY

do it for the challenge pipeworker. Firearm pistols are about kiting, special attacks, and fuck-you amount of initiatives. Every turn ends with your opponents knee-capped, headshot, and shredded with grenades while you fuck off to another cover behind caltrops and braps.

>tfw Constantine starts selling better TiChrome bars than Leonie
Styg should unfuck vendors, the only ones worth a shit in the entire game are Constantine, Beckett, Tone and the Coretech dude.

>find shitton of cool loot
>cant sell it because muh realistic trading

Attached: 1509324592386.png (1022x731, 643K)

How do I blow up the rocks?

Do stores ever change what they buy?

I think you need a drill

TNT
Jackhammers
PSI

Where do I get these things, just killed the faceless at the railway crossing

>Killing the Faceless

Attached: costanza.jpg (375x375, 34K)

Non psi monk viable?

>Where do I get these things
In your nearest gamestop
>just killed the faceless at the railway crossing
Bre...

easy, go melee/stealth, psi is optional for either the haste or the cc. max dex for the ap.
no dodge nor evasion, unless yo uplan to stack those reaaaal high.
7 int for crafts is enough
no con nor agi nor str is needed.
10 will from start if you go psi; if not, then invest on con or agi, depending on your preference.

the stealth kills/gameplay in the game is actually functional, silent kills do work and you can clear an entire map of lunatics without ever triggering a single alarm or attack from them.
and if anything fails, spam nades

Just pick classic and go whine to your mother next time

They didn't really give me a choice?
And I doubt they aren't the baddies.
please tell me were to find them I need to do the SGS quests

You can be an unstopable, unbreakable, undeniable massive tungsten wall of a man

evasion and dodge are memes because chance to hit is 10% minimum
their related feats are pretty good though, fancy footwork and uncanny dodge are extremely useful if you have the points to spare, just dont bother beyond that.

the oddity approach is different. you dont power level as oddity and you kinda have to plan your feats according to your current/inmediate future situation. ive played the game to the end twice, back then and recently with the expansion, both on oddity. first time i played i realized i invested in useless feats (like the crafting ones, imo they dont really pay off) instead of going full fighting mode early and THEN going for the flavor/rp kinda shit i was planning to do.
some (as in, just a few, truly) fights early on are somewhat tough, but there is always a way. the easiest thing i discovered early on was, for example, the ability to plant mines, grab attention, stack mobs and then blow everything with 1 (one) nade. first time i killed balor back then was doing that. i was "underleveled" and he prob would have one shotted me if i went for a straight confrontation.
eventually, say when you reach lvl 12-15, nothing in the game is truly difficult except a couple of situations at the expedition.

Wait
WHAT
I've been bumping the stats just because I thought you could make it super low.

God damnit.

what does exactly mean the "if you're strong enough to take the kickback" for Full-auto feat with shotguns?
Do I need extra strentgh or what?

Attached: c4bd6f19affec1b918d2c8aeb9cabc45.png (147x159, 3K)

Yeah I would probably feel like that now i know how much xp things like this give, I assumed they would be like 80xp a kill or something not the equivalent of 1/4 of an oddity xp. Thing is it could easily be balanced by increasing the oddity xp and number of times their necklaces can be examined while reducing kill xp. Its not an inherent oddity flaw its just bad balance

you dun goofed

tnt is available after depot a.
they are not memes, you just need to stack those to stupid numbers. but they do work quite nicely. you dont HAVE to dodge damage, you can stack con or craft a 1k shield instead. they are just flavor options, they all require some kind of investment from you.

I literally cant bring myself to do psi because its such a big investment away from all the other cool builds I want to do, stealth sniper traps and assault rifle is an easy one to run through again, or do a high dex and agility melee, or a high int and dex pistol crafter. There's so many doors that open when you just dump that will stat

I suppose, I'll need both con and agi for the numbers to pay off. I'm just really butthurt that my paper MC cannot go full matrix with evasive maneuvers since one out of ten attacks will hit.

>you dun goofed
i-it was self defense
they had it coming
I was just protecting the good people of the station
and some of those dudes had really good loot
should I avoid engaging them in the future? Or have I pissed off the whole faction?

Attached: 11124566.gif (347x331, 128K)

You need 7 strength for the feat and that's it, it's just flavour text.

you just make things harder for you if you attack them.
imo i would just pick a build and stick with it. the game somewhat penalizes you for trying to be jack of all trades and, unless you gimped yourself with a shit build, almost everything is "viable", as in, you can always find a way to make it through (aka nades)

Attached: Al_Fabet.png (680x1148, 591K)

It's too late bre.
Now Six will tear your asshole apart with his 60 inch dong

>hear all these horrific stories about depot A
>just got to junkyard with a shotgun, traps and throwing build with lockpick and crafting
Will I make it through depot A? I really need that feat that lets me plant traps in combat

>Will I make it through depot A?
Yes, go full doomguy with your shottie and get some syphoner leather vest or a mutated dog vest so you don't get melted.

god i wish i had psi irl

Anyone?

Attached: 9F8704FA-E0AC-42CE-B835-627BB054DBEC.png (621x637, 595K)

The guns guy at sgs has 3 for sale always and you can find loads of free jackhammers in the foundry mines

Fallout is boomer-exclusive shit at this point, this game surpasses it manifold. Name any aspect of Fallout, and Underrail has done it better, as it should have, regarding the year it came out. Except music, that's on par.

who is Six?
And did I actually lock myself out of the faction?
thanks bro

Probably should do the first native attack first.

No, all stores have a definite set of item types they buy, the only thing that varies is the quantity of items they'll buy from you.

spearbros, lend me your STR/INT
how do I deal with 2 hits per turn at 80% (coin flip) chance to hit? are there belts that reduce spear attack AP? early game is an absolute bitch, I can't craft the kind of stuff that will keep me alive long enough to slowly poke away. the build seems really feat-dependent and a lot of the good shit is still a long ways away.

>should i want this game if i never played the old fallout games

Ever play Xcom?

It's an RPG, with an Xcom like combat system, but in a fallout setting, with many more combat options.

If that sounds fun play it.
You won't make it past Depot A, but if you had fun up to that point re roll and try again, or just refund it.

And he's been in those threads on multiple occasions. And there was info on the video long before it came out. Yet not a single bitch started screeching before the internet man released his video.

Oh ok does that mean if I sell to the limit of the certain item, I can come back later to sell more?

Is there any place to get my weapons/armor repaired for free?

>tfw bought the brain

Attached: me.png (898x790, 381K)

Yes, leave a bag with your stuff on the ground near the vendors and keep piling up your loot there so you come back once in a while, sell and go back to what you're doing.

The story takes you places. And these places tell you their story.

You can block 95% of damage.

Normal or Hard?

Is going pure shotgun or pure assault rifle, viable options?

Defend this garbage.
It has been millennia now that video games exist and they still use the completely outdated, mundane and nonsensical system of dealing out arbitrary point at the start of the game before you even know how everything works.
The only "RPG" that does it right with character creation is NEO scavenger.

Attached: underrail.jpg (639x361, 41K)

They're not in case you're using tranquility.

Do you want to have fun or do you want pure frustration?

What?

Is hard that bad? What the fuck is dominating then?

I'm going 95% shotgun but have an assault rifle just in case I need to bust it out if I cant get close enough

maybe read what the attributes do then
uhhh oh my god no my brain hurts!

>Oh noes a game requires me to learn things and not press a to awesum
drop off pipeworker

>kill people
>take their shit
>recycle their shit
>make repair kits
>free repairs!!

no but repair kits are cheap to make if you have the blueprints for recycling items and making repair kits
you'll have more than enough stuff to scrap for repair kits

Attached: dominating.jpg (1062x199, 53K)

How retarded are u?

Its on gog

>gog costs $2 more than steam
wtf bros

Attached: 1546953988765.jpg (310x328, 16K)

>The better version costs a little more money wtf?

>went 3 int so I'm always behind 5 or so points in hacking/lockpicking in the area I'm in
>keep having to backtrack

Normal on oddity.
Hard on classic.

If you are playing on classic you can grind XP to overcome any challenge that you find to be to hard.

It doesn't live up to that hype to be honest.

Just stack'em and shoot. Shotguns are perfect.

Sadly I think spears are just for if you want the game to be harder, even with high strength you'll be better off with a knife at least until you get some riot gear and spear feats

its true, skill based systems are shit. ideally a game would have dozens of tested and balanced classes to pick from.
in this way, when one becomes stuck in the game the question becomes an immersive "how do i solve this problem?' and not a metagaming "did i make a bad build?"

unfortunately people often believe going in the exact opposite direction of what they want is the way to get there, and when it doesn't work they must only go even further.
In this case they believe some abstract 'freedom of choice' is making the game more role playing and immersive. But there is no such thing as choice, or freedom. They are forced to optimize, min/max, and consider the mechanics of the game, and will have to 'freely choose' the only sensible option available to them. Thus the illusion of choice becomes a constraint all the while believing they are free.

>even with high strength you'll be better off with a knife
I know what you are trying to say but it triggers my autism.

Yeah its 90 mins reset time which i believe the 5 times speed mode will lower. Also vendors do sometimes buy different things but they dont vary much, just sometimes the gun guys will and wont want crossbows and stuff like that

Disassembly and recycling is done in the crafting menu?

Neo Scavenger is a survival game, and it doesn't have RPG elements. You could play CDDA, which does, but that game will hurt your zoomer ass.

It's hard for normal people, impossible for dummies. Dominating will dominate you and call you a pipeworker.

Installing the DLC won't fuck my game up, right? I'm right before Core City.

It's got the soundtrack in it.

No this sort of confused me at first as well, just have to buy repair kits or invest a little bit in mechanics/tailoring/electronics to recycle and create repair kits for metal/leather/electronic stuff

haven't heard anyone complain about it

yes, assuming you have the blueprint. if you dont have them, the engineering vendor guy at SGS should have both the blueprints needed for recycling and making the kits

But this would mean at later levels you couldnt splash 80 points in something like psi or chemistry or mechanics that add a whole new dimension to your build

Also, I stumbled onto some complex that had zombies in cryogenic storage and some sorta mutagen, anything I can do with that?

FUCK CRAWLERS, FUCK EM

Yeah those are part of a later quest.

No its fine

If its mutagen d4 or 5 it comes in handy on a particular protectorate quest if you choose them. Also FUCK CRAWLERS

you weren't underleveled, thats how it was supposed to be, the game is balanced around oddity, and certain areas are harder than others so you should be coming back later rather than shit on everything the first chance you get, classic leaves you overleveled and thus makes the game a lot easier

What's a good starting stat spread for a heavy armour Shotgun user?

>sniper with high stealth
>can see crawlers before they see me

Attached: 1550668740499.png (377x460, 227K)

Ever since I hit the Old Junkyard area I feel like I'm too weak. Faceless oneshot kill me so I decided to do the Dude quests and now I'm in Nazi fucking Germany trying to find mineral oil.

it's more like soviet Russia

If you're going to make the harder difficulty easier, you might as well just play on easy. Classic is pure cheating on hard and DOMINATING. Even if you don't grind anything, you'll get way more EXP than on normal.

I've never done one, but I'd assume 7 strength 9 con 8 perception 7 intelligence and dump the rest is ok, im not sure if 7 strength is enough/needed for heavy armour tho. 7 int is only if you want to craft your own armour. Put points in perception whenever you can after this.

>I've never done one, but I'd assume

Attached: walks_away.png (501x445, 192K)

How long should my first playthrough take?

You won't complete your first playthrough so it doesn't matter.

>Faceless oneshot kill me
Faceless are more or less end game level.

100+ hours, somewhere between 120~150 if you want to do everything.

class based systems can have even more situational fluff per class because in skill based systems players will always try to optimize those points

That's what I was worried about, the clunky interface. I tried fallout 1 and couldn't play it cuz it felt so anti intuitive and clunky

yeh Fallout desperately needs a remaster

having to mousewheel(?) to have different options for your mouse cursor is unbelievably frustrating

OK guys I wanna make a hulking wrestler luchador as a character, specifically inspired by sekibayashi Jun. Fast, strong tough, unharmed, very minor psychic powers for flashy moves, especially time based stuff.

Is this viable? A friend once told me unarmed combat sucks in this game

When it comes to theorycrafting builds, what are some must-haves in any build, like 7 int for crafting?

I was worried this game would be like that but the UI and mechanics seems more streamlined and intuitive as opposed to obtuse. You're right, a remaster of fallout 1 and 2 with new graphics, animations and an updated user interface would be great.

Why no zoom function?

Whats a comfy resolution to play at? Window or fullscreen?

Like completely unarmed or metal fists?

Decide if you want Grenadier (6 DEX) and/or Sprint (6 AGI). Then adjust your CON values to accommodate for it. Or start with 10 CON if you want Thick Skull immediately.
You can also start 6 STR then put your first 2 stat points into it so you can use heavy armor when it becomes more accessible. Then boost PER after.

7 Int isn't a "must have" for crafting. Only if you want to become a dedicate min/max crafter by picking crafting feats that need the 7 INT.

Classic mode, DOMINATING, no PSI, rest comes like pottery following these basic tenets

>Killing wyatt
Bre
I'm disappointed
t. Hammer

>zoom on completely pixelated shitfest
why?

Str 7 Dex 4 Ag 6 Con 5 Per 8 Wil 3 Int 7
Up Strength to 8 by lvl 8 to use metal armor, any other points should go into Constitution, since 8 in Perception should be enough (your preference, though, I'd up that for more hit chance with a sniper rifle in the second slot).

Change resolution to lowest and higest while fullscreen, you'll see.

webm is me when i throw a grenade with 0 throwing and it actually lands where i clicked it

I guess fist based weapons, unless the perks don't apply to them?

More like Tito's Yugoslavia.

Your friend is a dumb dumb. Get all the unarmed feats and temporal if you want unstoppable action. Go to SGS gym and get ripped, conquer the Underrail.

Tungsten tank hammerer (All Tungsten, 10000% Armour Penalty, mobile as a boulder, tanky as fuck)
Nimble can hammerer (TiChrome/Super Steel armour, tabies, tichrome hammer, nimble, armour slopping, body weight training)
Berserker hammerer (No metal armour, highly agile and mobile, high dodge and evasion, very low resistances, nimble and dodge/evasion feats)
Naked hammer (You're naked)

>A friend once told me unarmed combat sucks in this game
Your friend is an imbecile

Only if you knew the Kenshiro/JoJo memes you see in these threads...

>be psi autist on dominating
>first run because I'm a hardcore retard
>struggle thru most of the starting missions, they're doable
>manage to get through GMS compound with no stealth and not enough lockpicking to open vents (I learned my lesson to get lockpicking and hacking)
>get to depot A
>oh FUCK
>time to cheese
>get 20 molotovs, work my way thru the plasma turrets and mutants
>cheese the shit out of everything by abusing LOS and using force wall to reset over and over, leaving area and returning to fire a fireball and recast force wall
>50 saves later get the dumbshit circuit board
EZPZ, at core city now. Good game

>TFW no express elevator to docks or private jetski bay for your core city home

Crab carapace is now a viable option, too.

So what's the baseline a person should have?

In fact, are crafting and lockpick in general and those kinds of situational skills absolutely necessary? I wanted to make a stupid bone head who wouldn't know how to do any of that, except gave good speeches because he was good at getting people fired up

No thats cool, no fist weapons is just self gimping for role play, you can absolutely do that

Pretty sure fist weapons become obsolete by lvl 20.

Based and redpilled. Everyone should do their first playthrough with psi on DOMINATING. Second playthrough without psi.

Fuck, really? :(

Get the mark 2 lock pick and hack tool. +5

Crab tank hammerer (Snibbity Snab :DDD)

Does this game have necromancy or summoning? I love playing a thief that has things that cause ruckus while I'm skeeving about stealing stuff.

>actually bother to get the strange power cell to fry the walkers on rail crossing since the 3 exp oddity almanac was there
>there's a fucking industrial bot in there
>toss a nade and enter stealth
>industrial bot fucking obliterates the 3 death stalkers chilling on the cavern that came to see the noise.
what a fucking chad robot

Attached: file.png (331x316, 127K)

Rage + LoC.

No, it's a Fallout inspired game not an Elder Scrolls inspired one.

Why would you say this? One: level 20 is lategame not where to plan your build for and thats ignoring all the bleed contaminate taste of blood or power fist shennigans you can do

Controlling something with a mindcontrol would be cool

>necromancy or summoning
>that cause ruckus while I'm skeeving about stealing stuff
Name 2 games where you can do this. Or 1.

No but you can summon a 'shadow' entity of a person, and it's only function it's ethereal existence is to chase and kill the target and ignoring anything else

And now it gonna hammer your ass

Can you viably play a knife user who sneaks around and uses illusion psychic powers, skulking and killing from the shadows with lots of dexterity and agility?

Yes, as a matter of fact, there is 1 Thought Control ability that is a boon for stealthfags
underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=Neurovisual_Disruption
And with LoS, you can make it an area of effect
underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=Locus_of_Control

I suggest you to take a gander on this
underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=Thought_Control

Yes.
Though you'll end up fighting many enemies normally instead of knifing them from the shadows like you're imagining.

As for the "illusions" thing you might have a problem. Something like that is the domain of thought control psi, which would need you to invest in will. You already need a high both agility and dexterity so you won't have enough points.
If it was just temporal manipulation for the utility though, you'd have no problem using it with 3 will.

he'll invest in will anyway, you need 5 for ripper
yeah man, the only problem you have is against robots, and enemies with high as shit DT/DR

hello Yea Forums, ssethwatcher here. I bought this game yesterday and am making a stealth/melee/crossbow/metathermics/pickpocket/dodge build. I killed the old man because he wouldn't give me everything for his watch.

How do I proceed now that the whole station is hostile?

By uninstalling the game, and then uninstalling your life

you restart/reload because you did a stupid fucking thing.

Hey, hey, people.
XD

Sell your genetics to tchort

Would I need to switch to a gun or something then?

Why the fuck can't I use knives or traps?

Attached: 4124.jpg (1920x1080, 274K)

>I killed the old man because he wouldn't give me everything for his watch.
I really like this spicy new meme.

>Implying Tchort would take such genetic dead end

just dont fight those enemies.
you're a dick ass thief, you can sneak past robots without problems, and if you need to fight one you just abuse EMP grenades and expose weakness

and those other enemies with huge DR/DT?
just use gas grenades to weaken them up
throwing knives go into utility slots, traps cant be armed in combat

you're going throught the wrong way you dumb zoner

>Knifes
You have to equipt them
>Throwing knifes
Put them in your utility weapon slot
>Traps
You use them directly from your inventory

hello faggot who liked sseth until he became "too mainstream" you are a fucking joke

There are 3 things that will serve you well against those sorts of enemies
EMP grenades
Expose weakness (feat)
And doors

I spent all my money on shit so the boat lady wouldn't take me.

The idea of playing a psi based character built around the aesthetic of a stage magician seems really cool. Mind control and kinetic abilities seem like a given, but what else? Maybe a cane of some kind, if there is one? Being agile and good at dodging because of phantom thief connotations? Stealth? How do I build this?

that's also the wrong way, holy shit user stop being a dumb zoner for once and start reading

Just go Pure Wizard
Get metathermics, you will be able to throw fireballs and iceshards, making people explode in fiery fire explosions, throw a fuckass ice ball that fucks everything on it's path, or become literal walking inferno, or encase yourself on protective ice
Also get temporal manipulation, it's an utility psi school but time shenanigans are really fun to do

I read everything last night when I was really tired. Should I reroll? Are traps shit without stealth?

Attached: rupert.png (442x1050, 50K)

Hah, i wonder if new dlc will bring a new psi discipline.

Zoner what the fuck
Okay, let's walk you through the basic
What are you doing? What do you -want to do-?

That is way too many 5s. You need to specialize more. Do you have any baseline character in mind?

No need for more psi schools, but but more psi stuff, specially stuff that can be used by hybrid psi
Telekinetic sledgehammers when?
Lighting spears when?

That build isn't the most optimal like at all, but it should be fine on normal. I guess you want to use pistols, so you will need to pump dex up. Traps are best used with stealth but you have kinda high int so just craft some +stealth gear use it to scout and place traps, also get quick tinkering.

I'm all for more hybrid options, but hammer that hits harder and double electric spear are way too boring.

Uhhh fuck I don't know I wanted to shoot energy weapons and shit.

Attached: 4d7.png (700x700, 825K)

Psychokinetic ability that electrifies your metal armour, damaging any melee aggressors and giving you electric inmunity for 3 turns

Then you need high dexterity, perception, and intelligence.
Everything else should be 3.

>Energy weapons
Okay.

What about armour?
Do you like to stay lightweight, highly mobile and agilite, with high dodge and evasion
Do you like magic?
Do you like throwing explosives and grenades?
Do you did Stealth?

>Do you did Stealth?
Do you like Stealth?*

If everything else is 3 how do I not die?

By killing everything that would kill you

What are some good feats to use with sledgehammer?

God I love this game already and I am not even at the Depot A

Hey hey people

This is why people complain about Underrail being an F9 simulator. You're seriously fucking over your first playthrough if you start with 3 con.

new to the game, anyway to see enemies when we're in combat and they're next to a wall, as it's a weird angle, I can't rotate the camera angle? So I have to click their enemy icon on the top left to issue attacks but sometimes they're not on the top left but still attacking me, Is there a keyboard shortcut to drop the wall height?

Hammer here:
Highly depends on other things

Do you think on using psi?

What about this?

Attached: rupertreborn.png (413x1072, 52K)

I worded it wrong, I mean you to see for reference

Oh come on, with high dexterity you should have decent initiative, 2 points in con won't save your ass anyway and are a much bigger deal put into int or per.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Holy fuck how do i deal with mutated dogs and their acid bullshit?

If I get the expansion can I start a shotgun or spear build from the beginning or do the new weapons only show up in the expansion areas?

press z

Pretty good imo.

>wyatt's story
>the scene when Ezra tranquilizers the borer
Thought control is spooky, yo.

Acid resistant armor. You can make a really good one from their skin, or a slightly worse one from siphoners.

Either get a mutated dog or siphoner vest, the former drop regularly from scrapper gangster in the last segment of Silas' questline, the latter can be obtained in the cave west of junkyard by killing siphoners.

You can get them from the start.

You will be a glass cannon, a very effective but fragile one, however, with 6 Agility you can get Sprint feat, which gives movement points in combat and increases movement outside combat.
Words of warning: You get hit, you die with 3 CON, you need to be highly mobile
You can get Evasion and Dodge, but since you got 3 Agility, these abilities will get penalized, unless you raise them to 5, or above 5.

Low HP and no dodge/evasion will make you rely on movement and shields, I suggest bump Agility to 6, get sprint and boost dodge/evasion

I want to go hard on psi and crafting, but have no idea which weapons to use. Any suggestions?

Neato
Oh well

You can go pure wizard, no weapons but your mind
Or be an energy gunslinger with some backup magic

Your mind is the only weapon you need.

Attached: sane.jpg (420x371, 33K)

post a good zoe quinn build

What would the stat line look like? 3 strength and con seems reasonable, but what about the rest?

Scrappers or Black Eel?

Energy pistols scale with INT thanks to high technicalities. Chemical pistols provide cc you need. Both don't require many feats not over substantial investment in Dex. Dex benefits you because you will have the ability to craft high powered grenades and the skill to throw them

Depends if you go pure wizard or wizard energy gunslinger
If Pure wizard, 10 Intelligence and 10 Will
Then a mixture of high intelligence, some will, some dexterity and some perception

scrappers

why

killing plasma sentries doesn't count towards killing Faceless, right? only if you kill the actual living (?) guys?

>2 points in con won't save your ass anyway
Not on dominating maybe, but on hard there've been plenty of times when it saved me - especially when I was still figuring things out. I can only imagine what a nightmare it'd be to start with no con and no knowledge of the game.

>3 con
Don't wear out your F9 key, bre.

Eels have a longer questline and some political shenanigans

You can do both up to the part where they let you into depot A though

Dont listen to the other user, Black Eel, scrappers will force you to kill a trader, also Scrapper base has way more loot.
Black Eel is the defacto supported gang

>You can do both up to the part where they let you into depot A though
Yeah, i did those quests, that's why i'm asking

Alrighty

Gonna get me some of dat Jet ski money.

Attached: 20190911115910_1.jpg (1920x1080, 330K)

This. I would understand classic more if you got the vast majority of XP from completing quests, crafting, passing skill checks etc but you don't. The majority comes from killing lots and lots of enemies. I really wish they had modding tools for this game because we could fix everything to our liking so easily if it had them.

Attached: imagnigger.jpg (1240x1185, 76K)

Not the same guy, but if I was to build an energy gunner wizard do you think it would be better to start strong as a gunner and build into psi as I progress, or the other way around?

You can get Jackknife for killing main raider man at GMS level 3

Looking at wizard builds, they all seem to include stealth of some degree. Is a non-stealthy wizard not viable or could I free up agi in favor of dex?

I'm inclined to say wizard because energy guns are not a thing until you get to Junkyard
When the game starts to need to be a ballistic gun wizard, means using regular guns until you have the money to afford an energy gun

is there a slideshow at the end?

Hammer wizard
Psi monk

Yes

Do I miss much without persuade/intimidate/bargaining? What about crafts, is it better to craft everything and have high point investment over a high bargaining skill? Or will I be loaded like an African warlord no matter what in the end?

>Psi monk
Does this go into Fist of North Star level of broken?

Attached: 150170133-352-k708076.jpg (352x550, 42K)

Are any of the quests timed? I just spent a few hours exploring caves before travelling to core city for the first time and suddenyl remembered I picked up loads of quests. Please tell me none of them are time sensitive

You're going to want to be able to craft what you wear and what you attack with. You don't need crafting FEATS, mind, but you are going to need to invest points in crafting skills.
even 3 INT hammer mouthbreathers need crafting

Man, what the fuck was Styg thinking not giving psi a single counter? If an enemy casts bilocation on you, you just lose. There's nothing you can do.

Use psionics against it mate.

Doppels die to a single neural overload.

Man, it's so damn relaxing spelunking through caverns looking for shit to make into drugs.
Can't ever seem to get enough ampules though

Almost all quests in Underrail have no time limit, so you can go ahead and dick around for as long as I can
However, Black Sea quests, some of them, have a timer, but the base game quests doesnt

great, shame expac has timed quests since theyre always the shittiest

Correct.

>How do you deal with death stalkers?
You don't

Not if you don't put any points in TC

whats a good level to start expedition? is lv17 okay?

Your problem, zoner.

im bored

when does this game get good?

where are you now

They aren't really timed quests per se, just some things that trigger at specific times. You will never get a quest with a "you must finish this in 3 hours" limit or anything like that.

Ah cool. So if you don't go psi, not only are you far weaker, but you literally have no counter for for the people that did. Fantastic game design there.

is there any loot in vents?
should I even check them?

-lay traps, throw something, lure them in
-if you have intimidate, yell
-molotov party
-try to stun them

worst option
-get stunned, hope he's standing next to you when you come back

Maybe stop being retarded and don't rush things
>inb4 b...but I have 10 CON!!!11!
10 CON won't help you when you get CCd to death by five or more gangsters.

They're just there for stealth builds

Sometimes there's paths to different areas.
Can also get you into certain rooms that are blocked or would need hacking/lockpicking

What's the best sniper rifle to use if I'm just using it as a secondary weapon? I picked up Aimed Shot right at the start but didn't realize Shotgun's can't use it.

There's some loot there, but not much. That's not their point.

git gud autists have finished this game on a lvl 6 character DOMINATING

How about killing the guy who casts bilocation first?
If you think that's bad you have never dealt with hordes of beetles who can instakill you with Psi-cognitive Interruption, and that shit ain't something you can defend against, unlike Bilocation.

>find a shotgun belt from blaire
>fail the persuasion check for sgs to help black eels
>go back to junktown
>only way to finish the quest is to be a protectorate shill
>last save is pre shotgun belt
im an idiot and i lowkey want to restart my dominating run over this

Constantine will sell you all the shell straps you need later on in the game, provided you have at least 55 mercantile.

For my first ever playthrough I wanted a character who is good at lockpicking hacking and persuading. A smooth operator with stealth and knives, maybe a little bit of psichic shit for mind control figured if I could talk to everyone and get in everywhere it would give me a better idea for the game for a second playthrough because I'll understand everything better.

My point is that psi having no real counter is bad game design, and you're kind of just reinforcing that by pointing out even worse enemies.

rr spearhead

They're all good.
I guess if you're crafting and have gun nut, corsair is better. Reaper is also good for higher aimed shot damage. Highest caliber is better unless you can shoot twice with the lowest.

>My point is that psi having no real counter is bad game design
Except lots of psi stuff gets cockblocked by an energy shield or just by having high enough resolve.
Psi users are also beyond squishy, if you think being on the receiving end of Psi stuff is bad you haven't seen the real shit like locusts or hordes of coked up and horny Sormibaeren that are immune to stuns.

you're immune to psi cognitive interruption while locus of control is active

stop using acronyms when explaining shit to new people dumbass

>make build
>think that this will now do the job on my first playthrough on hard
>going pretty good
>meet some enemies at a camp with some dogs left and right
>take half of their hp
>they heal
>they utterly destroy me
>delete saves next day
>make new character
>same but a bit better
>repeat for the past five days
this one will be the one, i feel it
my glass cannon psionic sword guy will kill them all if i don't die by the time i reach them

what the fuck are these new captchas now with the code copy shit?

If you are not playing on oddity, does investing in either hacking or lock-picking gimp your build hard? I already know lock-picking is better in oddity, but what about classic?

Does this sound like a good idea?

rapid reloader. its a crafting component

i'm doing an oddity run with absolutely 0 points in either right now and the leveling pace is almost exactly the same

on classic they're not needed at all as quests themselves give you extremely generous amounts of XP

>hate setting traps since it's fucking boring and not my style in any game i ever played
>no traps isn't an option on hard if you're a glass cannon

>Oddity respects player agency.
Just dumpster dive everywhere lmao

Currently having trouble with Depot A, how do I get past the autoturrets if I didn’t dump points into Hacking? I got the keycard that give level 2 access but that doesn’t seem to do anything

I never use traps on hard. Just kill them faster.

You can abuse corners to destroy the turrets since they can't move
Attack, move out of their line of sight, pass turn, attack, etc

>>no traps isn't an option on hard if you're a glass cannon
Not true, just use caltrops or make a real balls to the wall glass cannon build.

what's your build

if you're using anything ranged you can just corner peek them to death

if you're melee you EMP before beating the shit out of them

if you're a melee that hits for 0's on them you should just EMP and run past them

What do I need to be able to learn Philosophy III?

Attached: 1489298854603.png (689x712, 306K)

it sounds perfectly fine but persuasion mostly just gives you better rewards and more options for how you completing quests. you're not gonna spend 10 minutes in an npc's dialogue tree like you can in some other rpgs.
trap expert is a lifesaver
sprint through their line of sight or use an emp grenade to disable them for two turns. you dont need to kill them.

INT

Traps are fun as fuck, I laid out a maze of fucking mines and beartraps outside the ratlord base, threw in a molotov then sprinted like a nigger to the entrace of the area as he crawled through the deathpit

Can you feasibly spec into being a heavy trap user?

I've only been able to get Philosophy II with 8 INT and the Ferryman refuses to talk about the Center to me. Did I screw up the INT checks or am I missing prerequisites?

Attached: 1554440803452.png (640x640, 408K)

how do i deal with giant groups of rooty tooty pointy and shooty enemies on hard without dying?

What are good stopping points for the PSI skills if you are only going to be using them for their buffs with 3 WIL?

You need more INT.

heck

dominating

How do I into crafting? Especially early.

You clearly aren't galaxy brain enough, you need at least 9 INT to get philosophy 3.

>just use caltrops
those are traps
groups of enemies destroy me since i can't hit them all with my sword

find a choke point, fill it with bear traps and poisoned caltrops, do something loud to funnel them into it and then throw molotovs/gas grenades on top of the blob.
25 pyschokinesis (or 45 with premeditation)

I guess flares are also traps then.

Melee build so I can’t really abuse corners unless I can damage them with HE grenades
I would use EMP’s for the stuns but I can’t find anyone who sells those

no, not really

oh shit nigger you throw those things?
never tried them since i thought they were traps
so they scale with throwing i presume

katherine in junkyard outside of the protectorate embassy

ezra sells them as well but im not 100% sure if he does before finishing depot A

are you fucking daft?
no story? grounded? lmfao

how far am i into the game if i just beat depot A and saved junkard from the mutants

finished the tutorial

Chemistry to make your own grenades, flashbangs and molotovs well before the upgrades start appearing in shops. You can get MK3 Grenades before Depot A (around level 8) and maybe even MK4 ones if you are a high int build.

10%
You just finished the tutorial

Katherine isn’t stocking any, only EMP mines. How long until her inventory resets?

>playing for the first time

>enemies' hp constantly drops to ~%2 after nuking, so learned the psi-fisting skill to finish them off
>have a dozen of schematics and still haven't crafted anything, even though with some effort could've prepared a shitton of useful stuff
>have so many guns in the quarter that it's not even funny, have to wait until the merchants are refreshed
I feel like an idiot who is playing the game wrong. Am I?
When do you start getting shields?

thank

at later levels you will be able to just chuck 30 out of 40 points into something random you want to try out. i decided to randomly become a biologist so I can have unlimited adrenaline+jumping bean dodge aids

how to make a melee character with heavy armour that has more than 10 movement points?
using the manipulation psi is a thing, but feats for crafting shit to not get 95% armour penalty seems like a waste and just makes early game ridiculously difficult

>groups of enemies destroy me since i can't hit them all with my sword
But you do have Sprint and some other movement boost like Fancy Footwork or Hit and Run, right? Kill one or two and head for cover. Don't try to get them all in one turn if you are not sure you can take them or that you can survive a turn against the survivors. Always have a taser and/or Dirty Kick in case shit starts to go south and you won't be able to get away.

Dont do what I did and bother levelling up crafting at the expense of anything else good early except for chemistry and maby a bit of tailoring and biology to make mutated dog armour. I was level 12 before I made anything with mechanics better than I could find

>piggus can charge, turn 270 degrees around a corner, and hit you
fucking momentum, how does it work

which weapon type? get sprint for starters

>But you do have Sprint
yes and it helps with 2 or 3 enemies while the buff lasts, but once it expires and there are like 5 guys mixed with range and psi weapons i'm at a fucking loss
> Always have a taser and/or Dirty Kick
never used a taser so i'll have to look into how that works, but dirty kicks is an ability i can't afford since i'v very tight with feats on this build

...

Even stun immune Sormibaeren are almost all melee units and as such have tons of counters. The crossbow ones are a bit annoying, but can easily be stopped by armor. Locusts do pissy damage and have so little health that a magnesium grenade counters them 90 percent of the time. And there's also pesticide grenades.

You're not going to have enough resolve to reliably counter enemy psi users unless you pump will, whic you won't be doing unless you're also a psi character. Some psi abilities are blocked by shields, yes. But there's a far too large amount of them that explicitly ignore all resistance, armor, shield, whatever and still do an insane amount of damage.

I'm not sure how you could possibly argue that enemies with things like bilocation and neural overload that have a grand total of 0 counters is balanced or even good game design. Even snipers have a chance to miss.

anyone know what to do for fister builds in the dlc? all the automatons mech resistance is getting crazy and I haven't even had to fight a naga yet. Like it take two rounds to kill a strongman with weakness exploit with my claw ;(

Attached: 1466629412019.png (594x587, 814K)

yeah bilocation is just broken in this game, I have no idea why it doesn't disappear when you kill the caster

>found a doctor willing to make her voluntarily disabled for life
Based Fixer

fancy footwork, tabi boots, psychotemporal contraction. flashbangs, stuns, traps and caltrops to split them up and draw individuals around corners should help too. when shit gets too hard its time to reach for the bear traps and play dirty.

Ask the dedicated fister in these threads
Just wait till he drops by

Nikolai, bring your faggot ass over here

hey guys new gamer here classic or oddity

>things like bilocation and neural overload that have a grand total of 0 counters
What counter do you have against EMP nades/Coil Spiders' EMP discharge?
What counter do you have against a bunch of Death Stalkers that cockblock you with their unavoidable stun and healing shutdown?
Why are you pretending Underrail isn't all about killing things before they kill you?
>Even snipers have a chance to miss.
And that's a good thing! Because unless you're heavily armored and behind a meaty high/high shield they one shot you, much like crossbow users with their dishonest range.

Oddity

First time, oddity, afterwards classic

This

Sprint niggers leave.

Planning on playing ranged.
Guns or crossbows?

Which guns are you talking about? There's a gorillion types.

oddity is harder but more fulfilling
if you 're new to the crpg genre I would say classic first and if you end up playing the game multiple times like me you can play on oddity and more fully experience the game

I meant skill-wise.
But, assault rifles I guess? I asked because I keep getting filtered by thugs with crossbows.

fuck off to already

oh well guess you'll just have to stick to complaining

guns is a lot easier and doesn't require crafting as much

Reminder that all non-psi focused characters benefit greatly from Grenadier.

yeah I gave in a googled that shit I'm too brainlet for that one.

Attached: 1465743154076.jpg (500x282, 17K)

If I'm going for a psi-build, do I want to max out all 4 psi schools or could I ignore one in favor for guns?

stealth knifebro here. I really don't throw much stuff

You would benefit greatly from Grenadier.

Finally caved in and got this. Any tips for a beginner?

>You would benefit greatly from alerting everything on the map to your presence

To get the most out of guns you need high Perception and dexterity if using pistols, and you usually favor Will and Intelligence instead. So no, it's generally not worth it going for guns, you should max out all psi schools instead.

Unless you want to go for guns as your main build and use Psi as utility, then yeah that is completely possible and also desirable. But not the other way around.

yes more than you know
my stealth run was carried by the fact that you can lure enemies to noise

Go on the forums and find a build you like the look of to try at least for the first few levels, I really would not recommend playing this game without lockpick, hacking and stealth first time around. Leave crafting for later on in the game. When you're stuck get more bear traps. save often

mine has been carried by shanking baddies and quickloading

Max your combat stat
Craft grenades such as molotovs as soon as you can

Attached: 1564679183159.jpg (273x100, 13K)

Don't listen too much to the shitters that give you bad advice.

Drop your intelligence to 7, thats the max you are going to need for crafting, if you are truly focused on a high technicalities build then 8 might not be bad, you probably shouldn't be going higher.

High Dex and Perception is good but I recommend a strength of around 5 so that you can use riot armor without penalty and also if you are playing hackerman then you will end up carrying alot of weight.

First level feats should be pack rathound and aimed shot.

If you are going to go for the zappy science man then critical hit focus is your baby but only later. Your primary weapon early on is going to be generic guns until after depot A but what is going to carry you is your grenades.

Your first focus should be picking up grenadier and three pointer. Between that and maxing your chemistry until you get it to the mid 120 effective skill range so that you can pick up mark 5 frags ASAP. Every hand grenade you throw will clean the map.

That throwing is going to be your lifeblood until you get some good crafting materials. Your goals in life are getting the following feats.

Critical Power, Practical Physicist, Point Shot, POwer management and then High Technicalities and/or steadfast aim if you have the strength.

Thats their priority but you will pick them up as you can. Reckless is also good.

If you dump strength and get some agility for sprint like others have recommended then you need the feat ambush and stealth. However I noted you didn't chose stealth so meh. Frankly ambush and stealth with a laser pistol is probably one of the strongest builds in the game (energy weapons have subpar damage on a normal hit but crit for like 900%, with a proper late came build you can get 60% crits normally and 100% when attacking from stealth). Your break point on dexterity is around 14, perception is 12.

drop off zoner

Don't underestimate combat utilities
Flashbangs are love, flashbangs are life, just make sure to have a high throwing skill
Press + or - to increase the games' speed, you don't want to be backtracking for days
Always have lotsa hypos
Merchants refresh their stock & buying desire after 90 realtime minutes

The most important thing on the list: put points into haxxing and lockpicking.

oh and if screen transitions are too slow, turn off autosaving on each location change

>laser
>not plasma

Dilate tranny

I swear I only hit my low nade shots anything over 50% haha woops butterfingers, 10% hit them right on the money everytime

Plasma is overkill and needs a very specific build to be on par with the other two energy gun types in terms of viability, it's mostly a sure fire fuck you button for things like Carnifex or Magnar, but it's not really something you use every turn unless you made your entire build around it, which isn't really functional or better either.

if you're too tryhard for plasma meme crits then we can't be friends

do I need gun or melee stats for psionics or pretty much everything not will and int is a dump stat

I have a hard time imagining what Temporal Distortion would even look like. Like how would it actually deal damage to someone?

Man this part fucked me off, especially since they respawned after I already cleared them while exploring the lower caves.

Ended up sniping them all from the islands and trap scumming.

Plasma is never ever worth it. Electroshock guns and laser pistols do the job better when used together. The only exception is the lemurian plasma pistol can sometimes be useful because of its stability bonus and lower than normal AP cost.

First of all the AP cost on plasma is so crippling that if you miss you are screwed. Second, a single aimed shot from a crafted electroshock pistol will deal 1500 damage and then bounce 4 times and kill the whole room. Third, for single target DPS a laser pistol shot can do 850 damage for 10 AP, Which means that after three shots you are going to be above plasma in terms of damage. FInally fire damage is highly resisted which means that you often dont get the big dong damage numbers.

TLDR electroshock pistol can fire three times in a round with no TM or Adrenaline and does almost as much damage and stuns, and bounces. Laser pistol can fire 5 times, has higher range, higher accuracy and can do about 50% of the damage (still more than enough to 1 shot almost every enemy) when it crits.

The latter. You can put what's left into whatever clicks with you most, usually defense options are the most popular, so CON or AGI.

I started the game with some build, but the first rat enemies are pushing my shit in and this crossbow is shit

plasma is more fun though

Adquire intelligence

do I need both at 10?
first time playing so sorry for shitter questions

the probability of hitting one shot is always going to be higher than the probability of hitting two shots therefore plasma

Is there anything more satisfying than carpet bombing an area with grenades?

I need a better melee weapon

There's no reason to push Int past 7.

Melee weapons are fun
Meleechads got balls of steels

Reroll your character and grab a hammer
Smash people

is a fist wizard viable or I'd be cucking myself out of too much defensive stuff

Not him

Also it's called 'psi monk'
But no, Psi monks go hard on STR and DEX, with some WILL and AGI, if you plan to tank CON to 3

Where do I get a hammer at start?

You will want to max Will whenever you can, Int is more optional. But having it at 10 definitely won't hurt.

Armory guy

How can I tell which tomb I must unearth for the shard in the graveyard?

doc told me there are four guys "teaching" the four schools
is there a limit on how much abilities I can learn or just a stat and training fee requirement
if the former which one should I go with

>is there a limit on how much abilities I can learn
Nope, gomad

There is no limit. If you meet the skill requirement and have someone/thing to teach it then you can learn it.

You dont
You must find a bone lever
Pull up the big boys corpses from their tombs
Assuming you have talked with the Ferryman, and assuming you know where he left the shard, you should investigate that body part

Dont touch anything, every desecrated tomb only makes the angry spirit come faster
