I've got a pair, and I think they're pretty good. However I'm no audiophile so I wouldn't know how they compare to anything else. I also don't use them as USB and instead have them jacked into my desk mic, so I can't tell you how the "virtual 7.1" sounds.

The microphone leaks audio when you turn your headset up too much, it's fine on console but you can REALLY hear it on PC. thats the issue with 3.5 mm that have the mic ran through on the same wire.

Nah, but seriously. Gaming headsets are an absolute fucking joke. If you can seriously tell me you can't tell the difference in both build and audio quality between hypergam3r trash and a pair of M40s, you legit have defective hearing.

Gaming headsets have horrible microphones. Just like their audio quality. A cheap V-moda plug in for an MX series is going to run you about the same as an overpriced gaming headset (Headphones included) and be far better quality.
There is absolutely zero reason anyone should buy gaming headsets. They are not cheaper, they are not better quality, they have zero reason to ever be touched.
