Yea Forums loved Witcher 3 during the release but it turned out that reddit liked it too, so now everyone hates Witcher 3

Turns out games with shit combat and gameplay lose their luster after you play them. Who knew.

It's ok, the main point of the game is how polished is (read: how many money they used for it) but:
Story is trash
Characters are laughably bad
Gameplay is okayish
Everything else is good

its a nice until you realize every quest is follow the red shit and you have to use your bullshit vision to interact with things to solve quests.

Combat and gameplay are shit, but if you can get past that, it's fun

Witcher 3 was good and fun and popular at first.
Then the people that liked it effectively ran out of shit to talk about, as you would expect for a single player game.
But those that didn't like it will always be able to make threads and get a rise out of people by making a "this game is shit" thread.

It also doesn't help that reddit do constantly jerk off over it as well, to the point where they even have another sub that mocks the fact they jerk off over it so much.

Yeah the combat and the gameplay loop is a bit stale. But personally just exploring the world and finding out the little stories of the sidequests has me hooked so far. Though I can imagine it loses it's charm once you know how the quests end and have seen all the interesting locations.
How much do your choices impact the game, will it be worth a replay?

It doesn’t suck. It’s just mediocre + the story is trash and the characters (especially the main characters) were butchered.

Most people loved it, it won numerous game of the year awards and was talked about for years for a reason. The people who don't like it are very vocal is all and since a place like Yea Forums is a haven for contrarians you can easily be fooled into thinking that's the majority opinion. It's not.

What's the point in any armour past level 14 when you can first craft Feline? It's higher than every armour above it for long enough to get you to the next enhanced/superior/master version and in terms of Witcher Gear it's functionally better than Ursine and Griffin despite being light armour plus it looks infinitely better.

This. For me it was mainly because at that point I had seen every area (except the DLC) and the sense of wonder that led me to explore the world faded.

I'm so fucking glad they downgraded.
Now even my PC can run it on decent settings

Its a great game, probably the best rpg in the last 5 years.

But its not perfect, towards the ending its feels rushed and the ending is lame (the only ending that fits is the bad ending, so imagine how bad it is).
