Kojima hate thread

>Makes a bunch of movies and calls them games
OH MY GOD KOJIMBO IS A GENIUS

Attached: 1568131178464.jpg (960x960, 112K)

He is though, people are still picking apart a tech demo for a cancelled game 5 years later.

Literally a celebrity among developers, even the haters cant stop talking about him or his games. Genius.

>game
You mean movie

So you have to change the meanings of words and lie to yourself all day just to get by with having Kojima 24/7 rent free in your head? Sounds like absolute hell of an existence.

How much do you love the amount of seethe Kojima produces from Yea Forumsedditors?

gameplay xD movie xD peeing xD walking xD

Am I missing anything?

Kojidrone Defense Force is here

based and redpilled

You are mentaly ill, get help

Considering the fact that he makes Yea Forums seethe on the daily makes him pretty based desu
Keep coping

Yes, pretentious

>did enjoy mgs1-3
>everything beyond that has been trash
>people still jerk this guy off
I just don't get it.
>MGS4
>everything wrong with 7th gen
>MGS5
>everything wrong with 8th gen

Its because MGS4 and 5 are great games and you being one of the few autists that keep sperging out about them doesnt make them bad.

>makes "games" where there is less game than movie
>people praise him

>4 comes out
>people hate on the above average (for him) amount of cutscenes

>5 comes out
>amazing gameplay, best stealth game ever gameplay wise, fewer cutscenes
>"REEEEEEE"

people will never be happy

man, good gameplay is everything that's wrong with the 8th gen huh?

>people will never be happy
I'm very happy with the games. I'm just a happy chap I guess.

>Oh boy first thread failed, better make a second one!

more like a sixth one now

i'm happy too. i only said that because i hear people complaining about every entry except 1 and 3.

what is it with Yea Forums's obsession with Kojima specifically? they obsess with MGS more than anything, I see an MGS or Kojima related thread every hour.

MGS up to 3 were good. Too many cutscenes is a valid complaint. Fans overrate him imo, but he makes good stuff for the most part. I hope Death Stranding is good.

Your daily moderate opinion that will probably not get (you)s because it's not flinging shit or sucking Kojimacock

Attached: 1563939947523.jpg (540x253, 32K)

>The channel of the guy who exposed Kojima's hackery on YT is gone
What a shame

>he makes good stuff for the most part. I hope Death Stranding is good.
Lol Kojidrone detected

>5 comes out
>amazing gameplay, best stealth game ever gameplay wise, fewer cutscenes
>"REEEEEEE"
i played mgsv and it doesn't need more cutscenes because half of exsisting one where just bad
all i wanted from the game was more good missions

this, but gameplay wise 5 was great too, but the story was lacking. oh well

MGS brings out the worst of the worst autists on Yea Forums, people who have been talking about the games every single day their whole life. Just get another hobby or something, they take MGS too seriously its just videogames.

i kind of agree. i loved most of the missions that weren't repeats. open world outposts are good. Camp Omega was the best though, along with OKB Zero imo.

most afghanistan bases were cool too.

if you're on PC get Infinite Heaven as a mod, you can make any mission Subsistence if that's what you're into, along with other things.

Fans are rabid, and you can't have a worshipping fanbase without also having haters that let him live rent free until they're literally foaming at the mouth. Just the way of things for some reason. People with no awareness insist that their opinions are objective fact and anyone that doesn't see things the way they do are blind and "fucking retards."

I still don't get how he became so famous after producing only 1 game series and within that series, only 2 games were good.
I mean, Thief came out at almost the same time as MGS and it's arguably a better and more influential stealth game yet almost no one knows the creator of Thief.
I suppose marketing your own brand is really the key to create the illusion that you are a genius

It seems to be one particular butthurt autist. Post the same general exact staements. Was even in other threads linking this thread asking people to post in it. Begging people in other threads to post in your thread is something a lone sperg does not a group of people on Yea Forums.

MGSV has the most subtle story in the series, its really good actually and very underrated. The themes about revenge taken from moby dick, how its unfulfilling and drives people mad, the feeling of phantom pain etc. I really liked it, but I guess people expected something else completely. Something about big boss, when its more personal and about the themes then his character.

You can't make any criticism of the game without being verbally harassed. Kojidrones are a cult.

it's weird for me because MGS seems to be the most talked about topic here, more than something like Xenoblade and JRPGs in general, which is surprising to me. I just wonder "why MGS specifically?"

>Stealing story from Moby Dick and making the protagonist silent is 'good'
Absolute state of Kojidrones

MGS one of my favourite game series, too, but the fanbase makes me want to never go on game forums again

>MGS 1-3
>Kojima's autism is contained by surrounding people
>MGS 4-5
>Kojima is unchained
That's what went wrong, freaking George Lucas syndrome all over the place.

Because Kojimbo's a disease on the industry and due to his influence every new game is a 'cinematic experience'

It was babbys first Deep Political Commentary, so people put a lot more weight into it than is reasonable. The plots were neat but people hail them as masterpieces for some reason.

Video games in general get away with worse writing by nature of being video games. For some reason the interactivity of it makes people appreciate it a lot more than if it was a movie or book.

I dont see anything wrong with it. I wouldnt say its stealing, but he definitely was heavily inspired by moby dick. People always bash the games for being inspired by alot of western media and movies, like James Bond and Escape From New York, but there is actually nothing in media that hits the spot like Metal Gear, nothing on that level.

MGS to me always was Yea Forums: the videogame, cant exactly explain why.

>actually nothing in media that hits the spot like Metal Gear, nothing on that level.
This is what Kojima cultists actually believe holy shit jump off his dick and read a book already

>he makes
>discrediting hundreds of developers
bazinga kojumbo didn't make shit, sweaty

Why dont you recommend me something then?

You hit the nail on the head.

Because the general consensus is that every MGS is good and they all sold millions. Most people don't love them because they're stealth games, they love them because they're like cool action movies with a bit of anime thrown in.

Thief and MGS are completely different games with different focus. nothing to compare apart from them being a stealth genre

Because Thief is dull and generic compared to MGS

Pretty much this, I remember when MGS4 was just released and became the poster child of the Talladega Night meme. Everyone with a PS3 was sperging on about how it was the greatest game ever, couldn't believe the crap that I was reading.

How will you celebrate the failure of Death Stranding Yea Forums? I'll crack open a nice bottle of champagne while I read the fallout.

I just wanted more patrols between bases, roving Mujahadeen and I wish that they kept the mechanic of hunter/killer gunships being sent after you when you cause too much trouble.

Thief is a garbage, meme game that nobody wants.
MGS lives in Thiefcucks heads 24/7 rent free after 20+ years.
Love it.

fair, but i wouldn't say it's a garbage game especially compared to literally any other military stealth game

It's just games, have sex.

So you're an asshole and an alcoholic? Figures.

I truly want Death Stranding to be good but I fear it will be the same old shit since MGS4

>it will be the same old shit since MGS4
You mean kino?

Makes a bunch of absurd japanese stories inspired by western movies then puts in goofy faux stealth games. Genuinely quality escapism. Even if the dialogue is unintentionally silly it just adds to the surrealness of the series. At worst he's an accidental genius and at best he put out one of the best story focused franchises in vidya history.

Easy.
Thief is a bad game.
MGS is a good series.

Completely explains why one series is forgotten while the other consistently gets 1-2 entries in top ten lists

Metal Gear Solid is pretty much the closest thing to Twilight for men. Everyone else just cringes at it

he should be hanged for msg v but people willl just say its konami's fault an d that kojima is a mastermind

>Thief is a bad game.
>MGS is a good series.
Get the fuck out.

>Everyone else
So women? Who gives a fuck.

no, everyone else just wants good games, or know Snake from Smash.

he should be hanged for making a game that isn't 80% cutscenes which TELL, don't SHOW, through exposition; and actually has great gameplay mechanics to the point it's probably mechanically the best stealth game ever?

This is why other people don't take this series' fans seriously

Thief has terrible level design. Have you seen the pic comparing it to MGS? It literally copied and stole a level from Doom.

If I wanted to play crouching-in-shadows simulator I'd play Splinter Cell

honestly though, the military stealth genre GAMEPLAY-WISE doesn't get better than MGSV or Splinter Cell : Chaos Theory.

I agree. Co-op chaos theory is still the best cooperative gaming experience to this day

>for manchildren
fixed that for you

Reminder that Kojima never wanted to make 4 and 5 which is why they weren't all that good. By the time 5 came around specifically he was desperately trying to get himself fired from the company so he could go on to do something else, which is why he spent so much money and time on the new engine.

>he was desperately trying to get himself fired
Lmao just resign

he initially wanted to end the series with 2, every game after that was meant to be the last until it wasn't

Thats not how it works in japan. Also, contracts.

Contracts
Yup. I assume 3 turned out better because he wasn't nearly as burned out

He's no genius and he strikes me as an egomaniac but
>most of his games are solid (lol)
>P.T. alone was better than all western Silent Hill games combined
>DS looks way more interesting than most upcoming games
i'll have to give him that much

He's one of the few people still trying to push the envelope and do new things with the medium, and I gotta respect that, even if they don't always pan out. Everyone else seems content to just lie there remaking the same formulaic games over and over.

Yea Forums sucks this egomaniac's cock harder than a whore sucks cock. No point in arguing about this hack on this board.

Cope

The original versions of MGS 2 and 3 are nearly unplayable nowadays with their awful camera and janky controls

These days all he does is make hipster games to show off to his western twitter audience.

Same plebian argument zoomers have about Resident Evil 1-3

My man, if something ia unplayable it's unplayable. Just because your nostalgia goggles prevent you from seeing what others experience doesn't make their argument wrong.

Thing a lot of people don't understand about bug culture is that companies don't have the same dynamic over there. They run more like families. And not in the 'Hey, can you cover a shift with no notice because we treat our employees like family' way - they are run as something halfway between a business and a clan. It's fairly common for CEO's or other high level/important people to actually adopt promising upcoming employees. Point being, they don't have the same attitudes about leaving a job, especially one you've worked at for an extended period of time, that we would. No expert on it myself, but I figure Kojima quitting would probably be looked on in the same way as a young man disowning his family entirely. And when you factor in how much more important respect for one's elders is to bugmen, well, him quitting would probably reflect poorly on him. Being fired, on the other hand, probably means the company has abandoned and failed him, rather then the other way around.

I'm an actual 30yo boomer and I'm willing to admit when something hasn't aged well

Are you?

2 was fine the level design was built around the camera and the first person aiming was a massive improvement from 1
3 at launch was a mess though

>makes a stealth game
>becomes a classic
fuck I'm angry

They're fine for both series because gameplay accommodates them.

MGS guards have their awful aim and 30 seconds of alert before going back to predetermined routes to allow the player to evade and resume.
Re zombies have their stutter step, and tank controls complement the fixed cameras.

Solid design principles all around. Just because every game has the same general control scheme now doesn't make older ones bad.
