I've been telling people to play GT2 for months. Especially in your threads.

Make racing games like gran turismo 2 again and I'd be happy to

>tfw pc and only options are sims, emulators, and forza

Not me, I usually make GT1 threads because I believe it's vastly superior in music and aesthetics

I disagree, but I can see why. GT1 is also just straight up kinda hard, but in a good satisfying way.

Was playing Burnout a bit and listening to the OST. Goddamn I miss the early 2000s.

TFW no racing JRPG

There aren't enough female figures in a racing game to logically make one.

Fuck me GT blew my mind back then with the cubemap reflections and dynamic fov during replays. Can't believe it looked so real to me.

IIRC they're not true cubemaps as they only show the sky and horizon at most, not the actual track geometry. NFS3 did the same thing.

You only need one

Racing Lagoon nigga. No english translation though, it's all moonrunes.

There are plenty of racing games with RPG elements. If you just want a racing game with a Japanese storyline, there's R Racing Evolution.

I can't play GT1 or GT2 because of how hard the car controls are.

You can tune the cars nigga, as in adjust the sensitivity of handling and shit. Play with analog sticks, as in both of them.

well sure they were static, but through clever panning shit looked convincing enough.

how long until that autist who thinks nobody on Yea Forums ackshully likes racing games shows up?

what was the last good Gran Turismo? I've tried 4,5 and 6 but I always end up playing GT2.

5: Prologue

>There hasn't been a single good racing game since PGR4

What went wrong with the genre bros?

4 is maximum comfy but there is no sense of grip, cars feel loctite't to a rail of some sorts. GT1 and GT2 still have that sense of traction going on despite their age. Never played 3 seriously so can't vouch for shit on that one.

I've been playing Grid Autosport. I like it. It's surprisingly hard and feels really solid after the shitshow that was Grid 2, and I'm disappointed that Codies is ripping out half its features and leaving them gone for the Grid reboot.

4 because of the sheer amount of cars and tracks, the insane graphics for that era, the career mode, driving missions etc. Too bad the cars understeer like fucking crazy.

Project cars 2/AssCorsa vr is fucking amazing

gonna give it a try
I think 3 is fine, feels like 1-2 but the licenses are really easy to obtain and it has like 120 cars.

thanks

I'm not playing another racing game til they make another Tokyo Extreme Racer.

Sport, all gt games are good

>2019
>forza horizon 4 still has the shittiest car engine sounds ever
HOW? HOW THEY ARE SWIMMING IN MONEY? HOW?

overrated games. drive straight: the series

turn10/playground literally do not give a single shit

The Forza games used to have good sounds, but the old sound guy left.

I do. But I don't think you meant this.

Is forza 7 any good? Anyone have recommendation for pc racing games?

Good shit. I'm gonna have to go download GT2 right now, it's been 15 years.

what's wrong with grid 2? i got it free in a humble giveaway thing and it seemd like a decent racing vidya.

Forza 6 was is free on the Win10 store, also:
Grid Autosport
Dirt 3
Dirt Rally
Assetto Corsa
Project Cars 2
Big Rigs.

The physics are complete garbage compared to the other titles. Grid is sort of like a simcade (leaning towards arcade) but with the punishing collisions more fitting of a simulator and a heavy focus on still sticking to proper racing lines. 2 goes for a Ridge Racer style constant drifting (except worse because there's also grip style cars mixed in that are ALWAYS SLOWER THAN DRIFTING) that it loves so much that drift events don't even use different cars from normal road races. It's decent by itself but really lacking compared to Grid 1, and that's before you even get into how cut back the career mode is, racing options in general, attention to detail, the Flashback changes that have unfortunately stuck around to this day, and so on.

if you want maximum realism then rfactor 2
otherwise there's forza, pcars, assetto, codemasters racing games etc.
if you want some just fun games where realism doesn't matter then wreckfest, split second, redout, trackmania, etc.

>Forza 6 was is free on the Win10 store, also:
Nope, only on Xbox. FM6 never got a Windows version, only FM6 Apex (the demo/trial).

thanks. sounds a bit wonky but maybe i can squeeze some fun out of it. it was free so what the hell.

I got it for free as well and eventually it felt more like a grind than anything else. Maybe you'll have better luck. I do recommend playing the original Grid at some point though, it's excellent.

forza is fun, been playing horizon 4 on the wheel.

yeah i got that one before it was removed from stores thankfully.

learn to break, use manual gears that simple.

Oh shit, you just reminded me Wreckfest came out on PS4. Gonna see if it runs reasonably then probably pick it up.

somewhat silly but what game has the longest tracks?

anything with the burgerkingring

any game with the nordschliffe or la sarthe. dirt game tend to have long 'tracks' in general as well.

>come into thread
>OP mentions Gran Turismo
>every reply is FORZA FORZA FORZA FORZA FORZA FORZA
>some mong who is complaining Gran Turismo is too hard
>some mong asking for a racing RPG despite one existing
>some other mong complaining PC doesnt have any racing games despite PC playing just about every single racing game
quaint
