Rayman Origins / Legends are, in my opinion, the best platform AAA available today, even better than the New Super Mario Bros. series.
Origins is my favorite, but Legends has added a lot of interesting things like the endless tower and graveyard challenges.

That's really not a high bar. The Mario series hasn't been the king of 2D platformers for decades now, Donkey Kong took its place.

No. They are two different games, each with its own content. I saw other people commenting that Legends contains Origins stuff but I honestly don't know what they are talking about (I did 100% on both games). Maybe this "definitive" version that was currently released? The original versions do not share content and each game offers a relatively different experience.
In my opinion Origins is better because it is harder and making 100% of it is more challenging, but Legends is good too and it's a more elaborate and polished game.

Literally every level from Origins is playable in Legends. That’s what they mean.
If you’re saying you like Origins levels more than Legends’ new levels, then that makes sense.

Holy shit... honestly didn't remember that, or I played the whole game without realizing it. I'm going to take my PS3 out of the closet just to check it out.
However, Origins has extra challenges at each level (which you access from the map), such as speedrun and without it the game's levels lose much of their potential, even though you can play in Legends.
