Here's your skate 4 bro
i like it
looks pretty decent desu
Looks more like thps than skate.
Also from looking, the physics seem too floaty and the animations feel robotic and scripted. A board doesn't magically stop spinning just because it did 360 degrees.
>A board doesn't magically stop spinning just because it did 360 degrees.
Pretty sure Session is going to have a free flip mode, so I imagine this gameplay has it turned off
what's the point of this game? just skate around aimlessly? looks boring
THPS was fun because you had a score system, missions to do, stuff to discover in the maps
If you're not in it for the satisfaction of doing/filming a nice line then yeah I guess this wont be for you. However they did say they want to add in some kind of campaign later on
this.
i hope it does well anyway i want to play a new thps or a game like it.
Skate had score system and missions to do.
yea, if there's a audience for it then go for it, but it's really not for me. and I'm glad they want to add more in the future
based on this game's Steam page, it has neither (yet at least, since it's releasing in early-access)
except ever skate 3 bab will end up hating this game because no le wacky zany glitches and flying squirrel through the sky ecks dee type stuff, not to mention them obviously going to drop the game because of the initial learning curve
>Sorry about Tony Hawk games being dead, here's your new Tony Hawk game bro

>No music
It's shit.
The kickstarter demo had music, so obviously the game will as well
>that foliage pop in
disgusting, i hope that gets fixed
lacks psych

I'm buying it but I'm a little disappointed there isn't going to be any objectives in the game. Free skating without any objectives is gonna get boring I fear. I don't really like games where where players have to make up the gameplay.
kino
just play your own music over it lmao
>Free skating without any objectives is gonna get boring I fear
it'll be boring within the span of an hour, for sure
yeah I loved doing all the objectives in Skate. I'm also a little worried the game is one open world since it's a small studio, the map may not be that good. Level based like THPS would have probably been better than open world.
I mean if you're unimaginative sure
Is Skater XL actually good? I didn't get it because it looked like one of those games where the bare bones game has zero content and fans saved the game with mods.
74 hours since a December 2018 release date is pretty bad
yeah, it's the challenges in those older games which made them so fun and feeling fresh, without them it's just a waste of 10 mins every couple of months when you feel like it
I think it will really depend just how many tricks there are and probably if it has a good scoring system.
>bare bones game has zero content and fans saved the game with mods.
You're not wrong, however the gameplay being super satisfying/gratifying saves it for me
I don't know dude, are you not capable of setting any kind of goals or objectives for yourself?
It just screams lazy devs
Nice vid, will share.
To each your own I guess
>I don't know dude, are you not capable of setting any kind of goals or objectives for yourself?
i'm curious, user, name some that make the game worth playing for at least 1 every two days
These are the devs who were bewildered by the idea of people wanting an open world skateboarding game so they had to restart core development many years ago. And either the physics are fucked or the animations are horrible because it looks like the guy weighs 20 pounds
play your own music, retarded faggot
I'll probably get the game day one just to see how it feels, if it feels like shit I'll refund and maybe try again later when it's not EA
can he do any tricks though
From a former skater to a non-skater let me tell you how not glamorous and painful the sport is, you go to a skate park or local spot and do a line over and over and over again until you get it right or until you break something bad enough that puts you out of commission for a week or two. Hopefully you get someone else to get some footy of you doing said line for street cred. That's about it for 95% of people, some scrape together a bunch of footy and make sponsor me videos in the hopes a shop will sponsor them but rarely and I mean RARELY does anyone ever make it pro. That being said skating is really fun once you get passed the initial mountain of a learning curve, there's nothing comfier than skating with your bros on a cool summer evening.
Post songs to skate to
They aren't having any kind of score system, it's supposed to be way more realistic and way more hard than skate and that means putting together actually impressive lines and tricks without any arbitrary score telling you you did good or not. This game isn't for arcade casuals it's a game for people who have actually skated, it's kind of like the skating equivalent of a really autistic racing sim. As a person who used to skate a lot I'm really stoked, I played the demo and it really doesn't fuck around, you Skate 3 bitches are going to have a bad time.
youtu.be
Oh so we're doing this now?
>that shit fucking version of Willie the pimp
what the fuck
Skater XL > Session
The game world is meant to be empty and soulless right?
Cringed
I don't understand why people are upset there isn't an abstract scoring system when the game clearly says it's a simulator.
>a simulator
with those physics and animations... top kek user.
Hard pass from me, Id rather play Skate.
>There'll never be a Jackie Chan's Skateboard AdventuresTM the movie
it's obvious that the physics aren't on the same level as skate so why bother
The control scheme is a fucking joke. Skate perfected it. This game just wnt backwards.
Based skate bro
