I’m going to play devils advocate here for a second. I know we’re on Yea Forums here where it’s cool to hate transgender people, and personally I’m of the opinion that transgenderism is a form of mental illness, but hear me out.

When writers tell a story, aspects of their own life are invariably reflected in the story. For example, that big fat guy who wrote game of thrones said that every single one of the hundreds of characters he has written has a little bit of him in it. Writers generally create stories about subjects that are deeply personal to them or which interest them. Would it be “forcing” it if a schizophrenic person wrote a story about someone with schizophrenia? Would it be “forcing” it if a lawyer wrote a courtroom drama? Who better to write a story about tranny than a tranny themselves?

The way that people here shoot down any game with transgender or gay themes seems hypocritical and basically the same shit SJWs do with stories that don’t reflect their own personal ideals. Why can’t we have stories about trans people? Why can’t we have stories about anything and everything that people are willing to write about? I would argue that Celeste doesn't do that either. It's just a little story about dealing with depression and self doubt. The author is writing from experience, but the setting and events are entirely fictional. Personally, I agree that the writer lacks talent, but not because they write about themes they have first hand experience with. I don't think they're a good writer because I found the story of the game to be boring overall. Saying that the writer isn't an "entertainer" seems like a bit of a stretch though given how successful the game has been - obviously the writing entertains some people.
