It's not that bad

My only complaint about Homecoming is the plot. The atmosphere is alright though, even the music is on point.
Downpour is a decent game, but it doesn't feel like a silent hill game. The enemy designs are terrible, the OP song is terrible, and the town atmosphere lacks that unsettling feel. I enjoyed the side quests and some of the endings though.

Yeah, it's way worse than bad. It's a buggy mess of a game that runs poorly and is full of sloppy design. Even ignoring blatant pandering garbage like Pyramid head randomly showing up and the awful endings it's objectively not a very good game.

It's the first western developed one and generally people didn't like how it failed to capture the spirit of the japanese ones.

By itself it's an average action game, but slapping silent hill on it was the big dissapointment and adds nothing if you like 1-4 or want to get into silent hill.

I really like the Needlers/Smogs and how fighting them in melee was fucking aids but the guns all felt like they shot staples.

It has a great soundtrack, and that's literally it.
It's still better than Downpour because that one had a horrible story, was a technical disaster, wasn't fun to play AND it did not have a Yamaoka soundtrack.

I hated almost everything about Downpour but I will give it this, it had one of the best secret endings in the series.
