Hey, do you like Team Fortress 2?

Hey, do you like Team Fortress 2?
Do you have an uncontainable passion for this game?
Do you wish that Valve could finally communicate with the players, properly balance the weapons, getting rid of the never-requested matchmaking and so on?

Do you think you can take care of the game way better than devs themselves?

Well, let me tell you something: VALVE IS ALWAYS HIRING (like stated in this interesting piece of paper which you should probably read cdn.potato.tf/host/valve/valve.pdf); so, if you think you have everything it takes to be a Valve employee and you want to fix the game... well, what are you waiting for?

SEND YOUR GODDAMN RESUME, SO WE CAN FINALLY MAKE TF2 GREAT AGAIN

If you want to make things happen, you need to take the first step.

Weapons are already balanced

I have no talent that they could use

... and other funny jokes you can tell yourself

I would work extra hours to fix it and start nagging everyone until they started making games, but I'm not american so it won't happen.

>when you're a 3D modeler and not a coder
>tfw too self concious to be slight step above idea guy territory
Feelsbadman

>get hired by valve
>work on TF2
>performance reviews come around
>you haven't been sucking off any of the ingroups
>you get booted
I could definitely be convinced this kind of thing has happened with other projects there

Most certainly

Try harder

I feel you bro

If you want to join the company, you might consider taking a look at the leaked internal handbook

dl.pcgamer.com/Valve_Handbook_LowRes.pdf

>All legit self-organizing firms have to 'leak' an official unofficial Company Manual. It’s got to be slickly made and fun to read. Developer Marketing gurus create these productions to sway new recruits into the Hiring Funnel. Insiders laugh at these things.
hmm yeah hmm better take a peek

not sure i want everyone who whines to get a job there, they would just do meme shit like remove random crits.

at least there's a possibility they could do good stuff as well i guess.

>implying they wouldn't get some guidance from the old devs who have been working on the same shit for years

Valve has no incentive to spend time and money updating the game. It still gets hundreds of thousands of players daily despite a lack of new content

So, what are we supposed to do to improve the game?

>he believed there are actually talent people on Yea Forums

Valve has every resource available to keep the game updated frequently, they just don't seem to care about the game enough to go through the process of hiring people specifically to work on TF2. They likely won't hire someone to work on just one game, they'll instead hire you if you can be a valuable asset to all of their other projects as well. Isolating yourself to just one project makes you dead weight in their eyes.

This. And when those player numbers start to dwindle, they can easily outsource the work to the community and just take whatever shit they find on the workshop to make a case of. They know there will always be people who buy them.

Why does Valve neglect this game so much? It's still active and generating tons of revenue but its not Dota trash so it doesn't exist to them

The people who want to work on something old want to work on something huge, not something that's doing well for a decade old game. The people that want to work on something new are working on VR or new steam features to abandon after 2 updates.

Tfw the only way for an update to come to one of valve's most successful games is to infiltrate an entire company and work on it yourself.
