Because the original developer lost control of the IP and had nothing to do with any of the games developed after 3, so it got passed around from team to team just to shit out games to make easy money based on brand recognition.

The attempt at Spyro 4. It was shaping up to be decent, but Universal fucked the devs over by reducing their time and money by half in order to rush it out for the holidays. The PS2 version is a buggy, slow piece of shit. The later GC port fixed up the major issues and leaves you with a Spyro game that's inoffensive, just half-baked and short. It's like a 6/10, it still has some neat ideas and level themes.

A reboot by a new team who weren't really trying to play like the old ones. IMO they're very mediocre and repetitive, but they do have a good sized fanbase, presumably because of the setting and lore, which did have some thought put into it and is yet simultaneously super generic.

Insomniac didn't lose control of the IP, they voluntarily let it go. They wanted more money and decided it would be better to work directly under Sony instead of using Universal as a middleman. They had to give up Spyro, but they really didn't give a shit at that point, they wanted to do something else. Ted Price said it was because Spyro had no hands and thus couldn't use objects and guns, which became the focus of Ratchet.

In the first one Ignitus even says that her and Spyro are from the same egg clutch ,which would make them brother and sister. As for why she was invented, sometimes it's nice to have more than 3 or 4 characters running around. Cynder was somebody who could actually be involved in the adventure without being OP and wrecking shit like the adult dragons. You get some of that in the second game and a lot more in the third, where she's playable co-protagonist.

Also, just wanna point out that you look like a fucking autist bringing her up and complaining about her in every Spyro thread regardless of whether or not anybody mentioned her beforehand. You should also stop avatarfagging with Bender images, might make it a little less obvious.
