Why won’t SE make a new Final Fantasy Tactics?

i see people stroking their dick to this game all the time, is it really as good as people say it is?

It’s the best SRPG of all time not named Tactics Ogre.

yeah

Way better than most Final Fantasy games. The job system is alot of fun to play around with like always but the pacing of the actual combat is painfully slow.

if you like tactics games its very fun.

Very very fun. The story is cool too. Mechanically a bit broken but that also makes it fun in a way. Original PSX translation is messy enough that sometimes it can be a bit confusing so probably best to stick with the re-release.

I'd be happy if they just ported War of the Lions to Switch.

I think Square-Enix just doesn't think SRPGs with decent budgets are worth the investment? It might just be that no one at Square-Enix has been up for it since Matsuno left due to """sickness""". He has been working with them on FFXIV and Ramza got into Dissidia, so who knows.

no but it's the best the genre has to offer which gets sadder every passing year
with the amount of flaws this game has you'd think it would be have been toppled over by now

>make game
>doesnt sell well
>ok well lets stop

The end.

fuck off boomer fire emblem three houses is better

Dont you see its escapism. It isnt healthy!

"Final Fantasy Tactics S"

No, you fuck off. There can be both, and your game is just as shit.

Because you didn't play their mobile game.
And most likely won't play FFTA3 coming to a smartphone near you either.

The rerelease has a bunch of boring spelling tough

>closest thing coming out is that War of the Visions game
>it's another fucking gacha

Mobile games were a fucking mistake

Except they made two sequels/spin-offs and an enhanced port.

Matsuno shared that he was at one point working on FFT2 with Sakaguchi but they couldn't agree on what direction to go due to various reasons and shelved it. Pic related.

Honestly I think Square has just sort of been in a tailspin they haven't quite recovered from since Spirits Within bomb/Sakaguchi leaving/Enix merger. Shook stuff up enough that they sort of completely changed directions as a company. Feels like only recently with finally putting FFXV and KH3 to bed they feel capable of making decisions that don't appear batshit.

Makes negative money. Same reason why FE almost died twice.

But they just did in the form of a phone game

FE has been a huge success in the last 5 years you’d think they’d get the message.

How fucking expensive can it be, probably cheaper than all those garbage mobile games they spam youtube videos in their channel nowadays.

FE became a success by increasing the emphasis of the dating sim shit. Tactics has no such system in it and adding one would just be copying FE.

They need to find some way to innovate outside of the story and lore, because bare bones tactics just won't do well. It's been proven time and time again.

Quit talking out of your ass.

The best Final Fantasy, at the very least, although what said is also very true, sadly enough. Look at shit like Disgaea for how absolutely terrible the genre is becoming. Or that waifubait game Three Houses, which barely has enough to qualify as an SRPG.

I'm not though, the fact of the matter is tactics doesn't make money. Base Strategy games are not popular unless you have another system on top of them, which tactics doesn't.

Tactics prides itself in having a deep strategy system but the base consumer doesn't give a shit about that kind of stuff. They want gimmicks and systems to occupy their time out of encounters.

>what is xcom

Funny thing about Tactics is that for how deep it is or is purported to be the game is hilariously easy to break. You can make the rest of the game a cakewalk two story battles in.
But yeah, I remember Tactics didn't make much money at all when it was first released. Convoluted game mechanics, and coming out right after FFVII, the game was doomed from the start.

The LUCT remake literally dethroned it alongside A2 though????

Vandal hearts?

Here's the counter question: Would you really want them to?
