It's that natural Aegis charisma.

>weeb anime shit

>love XC1
>like XCX
>got bored of XC2 and dropped it around five chapters in
Does it get better? I'm thinking of starting a fresh playthrough after I beat Astral Chain.
Everyone says Torna is an improvement in almost every way, too.

omg anime boobie!!!

Chapter 5 is the point where the plot finally starts to pick up, keep pushing on

It's been months, and I've literally forgotten everything. Haven't touched the game since February. I'd be forced to restart at this point to just get back in the groove / refresh my memory.
It's good to know that it gets better, because it was an honest slog. Which was surprising, considering how much I liked the other games.

thats cause xc1 and x are games. 2 is straight up anime trope filled trash.

>I'd be forced to restart at this point to just get back in the groove / refresh my memory.
Don't ever do this for Xenoblade 2. Replaying the early chapters (especially 2, 3 and 4) when you didn't like them much the first time and aren't very attracted to the game is just fucking unfun.

Fuck off reddit

I'm was in the same boat as you. Keep chugging along cause the story gets really good from Ch 7 onwards. But after I finished XC2 there's no way in hell I'm replaying the game. Would love to replay XCX though.

She has zero character or personality. You only like her because of her breast.

I realized that a lot of XC2 fans in these threads measure the game's success based on people continually seething, and shitting things up in general. To make matters worse, they get condescending, and find the seething that tears these threads apart to the point where there's hardly anything to discuss outside of rampant shitposting, as "amusing".

Torna is not an improvment at all

What else are we to do when we had "humor" threads for a year
Get triggered everytime?

>Torna is not an improvment at all
Is it just me, or are people more vocal about their dislike of Torna lately?

Because she's my wife and just like every wife she made me waste all my money, in this case by buying a fucking console with almost no games I want to play just for her game.

Honeymoon phase ended.

Not him, but honestly it would have been better if Torna was a chapter in the main story of XC2. I think Takahashi said it was originally planned to be somewhere between Chapter 6 ~ 8? If not that, it could have been included on the game card, and unlocked as a prologue chapter after completing Chapter 6, or something.

My only complaint about Chronicles 1 and 2 is that they throw in a bunch of sudden science fiction shit right at the end and it kinda spoils all the mysticism for me. I know that's like a calling card of the director, but still.
The whole "the world was an accidental science experiment and God is just a human from future Earth" shit is like something you think of in middle school, and it sours it all for me.
Still a great game, with a godlike story overall.

I know, right?

Because her backstory is that she's a "fake" personality meant to be the opposite of a girl most people disliked in-story.
She went from being a bitchy girl who was quick to insult everyone to a warm motherly girl who doted on Rex.
Good girl. Hope her and Rex get their cameo in the remake.

Except XB1 and XB2 foreshadowed it the entire game.
XB1 has Kanji on the Monado, a language nobody knows.
XB2 has Latin all over the World Tree, with nobody in the setting even noticing it was a language.

In the end what happens in this shitposting hell that is Yea Forums doesn't matter, outside here xbc2 is still very relevant, artists keep making fanart and are looking forward for xbc1 DE.

to be fair you can see the space elevatpr in 2 from the very beginning of the game

It was my understanding that Zanza and Mayneth were German scientists - why would the Monado specifically be in Kanji? I thought that was just for the sake of showing the moves. I never thought anything of it.
I'm , so I've never gotten far enough in 2 to see that, but I'm aware that it connects to 1 in the same way.

>Campfire system was a nice little addition
>Rear/Guard mechanic, alongside being able to roam the world as the Blades was cool
>Torna as a Titan beats a good 4 of the locations in the main game, and has nice scope to boot
>The later half from Malos stealing Torna's core, up until the ending was great
Outside of that though, Torna is pretty overhyped. Having to complete quests to progress, and the overall Community System stuff wasn't executed that well, and in general it could have been a little bigger. I feel like the game could have used three titans, like perhaps Judicium, Mor Ardain before it was industrialized (since Hugo is a member of the party), and that's about it. The plot was kind of mediocre too for the first half, and I doubt anyone cared about shit like Mythra's cooking.

Attached: 1568061672492.png (757x293, 111K)

She isn't. I literally never used her again once Mythra became available

>why would the Monado specifically be in Kanji?
Because Klaus is a weeb.
Keep in mind, BOTH of their first thoughts upon making the new world was to make giant robots.

>My only complaint about Chronicles 1 and 2 is that they throw in a bunch of sudden science fiction shit right at the end and it kinda spoils all the mysticism for me.
You see the World Tree in the background of Alrest, for almost the entirety of the game. Honestly, the switch between fantasy, to Sci-Fi was what made XC2's second half so endearing to me. It's a shame Morytha, and Elysium weren't bigger environments, though. As an SMTfag, the destroyed civilization of mankind being beneath the colorful world of Alrest was some nice

Attached: 1554734082595.jpg (100x100, 2K)

>Zanza and Mayneth were German scientists
I thought Klaus, and Galea were American? Then again, it's never exactly specified.
>Tfw Klaus's mentor is revealed to be Dr. Masuda in XC3

They initially wanted to expand on the content of Torna via cutscenes, but decided it would be too much and instead made a game out of it.

Only gameplay got improved, story is just good enough

Play Xenogears

I don't know why people keep saying this. XC2's pacing was perfect after Chapter 6. Slapping in the entirety of Torna, or at least the capital of Torna, and the ending of the war in the main game would easily throw the pacing into the trash

They're working in some kind of united government I think , so it isn't too if to think that some part of the computer was Japanese, and that transferred over to the Monado. Or something.

I don't really have the means to, and, as much as I enjoy the Blade series (except for 2, which I'll have to give another shot), I don't like them enough to bother with the rest of the games.
Is the World Tree supposed to be a space elevator or something?

Why is she more likable?

Attached: ECbZ8yGUwAAcAy7.jpeg.jpg (1100x1235, 237K)

Klaus is at the very least a common German name. Don't know how often you will find someone with that name in the US.

>Except XB1 and XB2 foreshadowed it the entire game.
My biggest complaint about XB1 in general. That game "foreshadowed" every plot twists miles beforehand and ruined every twists due to that.

Mythra specifically made her to be the best girl possible. If you chose Mythra over Pyra you are insulting her craftsmanship.

I do think that's a bit of a stretch, because nobody knows japanese when they're created by the Monado.
And in XBC2, the language is english. Stuff is written down here and there.

Yes

Except I actually like characters that are flawed

Extreme levels of mommy gf

There's a sign in the orbital ring referencing the US government, and the thing is over the US, so they're working with a lot of Americans at the very least

because big boobie

>Is the World Tree supposed to be a space elevator or something?
It's essentially a Beanstalk Tower, so yeah

Klaus and Meyneth were from Morytha, which is like Future America. I think someone had a theory that the Morytha you visit in XBC2 is somewhere near modern Chicago based on the downed traffic signs.

>My biggest complaint about XB1 in general. That game "foreshadowed" every plot twists miles beforehand and ruined every twists due to that.

>NPC just fucking tells you "hey my dad was a dude named Xord" hours before Prison Island reveals

Nia is smug, honest and sympathetic. Bonus points for good backstory and tailless cat features

Just watch the cutscenes to help jog your memory of previous chapters.

>That game "foreshadowed" every plot twists miles beforehand and ruined every twists due to that.
I don't know how the twists were ruined. Even though you knew the events, you didn't know the circumstances surrounding them. It's part of the reason why I liked XC1 so much. Shulk has the power to see the future, and actively change the outcome of things, but his timid personality stops him from properly preventing things half the time.

She wasn't though? Hikari was way better, Homura was a bit of a moeblob.
Pandora>Nia>twins anyway

It's an optional one that you never have to talk to but I figured that way sooner when they established that the monado can't hurt humans or faced mechon in mere minutes of each other

I just wish, for the next Xeno game, he'd just devote to the science fiction he so clearly wants to do, and just abandons all the fantasy stuff. X was fantastic because of that - except for the fact that the game's main plot twist went entirely unexplained.

2 reasons

I want more Nia backstory in both senses of the word

Attached: EBCUIXcUwAER7mp.jpeg.jpg (1060x1500, 292K)

>because nobody knows japanese when they're created by the Monado.
Didn't it state that the AI for the Aegis Cores were cultivated in some sort of simulation chamber?

I’d say its pretty likely due to their popularity and how both games endings are connected since you can literally hear Shulk in the end

Xeno should always balance both

>Everyone says Torna is an improvement in almost every way
Definitely not everyone after the honeymoon phase ended. The bulk of it is being forced to complete sidequests to progress, though most of those sidequests have some actual writing to them so they at least tried to make you care about the world. Adam is boring as fuck to play, Lora is okay, Minoth is pretty cool. I don't think I'd ever replay it, unlike the main game.

I'm fine with that. I just wish that the grand plot twist doesn't relate to science fiction.
If Xenoblade Chronicles 1 just ended with Zanza's death and Alvis asking Shulk how he wants to remake the universe, with no explanation as to how any of it originated, it'd be perfect. The right amount of scifi with the mechonis and all that, but not to the point that it's cheesy and dumb, like with the whole "making the universe" thing.
The idea that all of my adventures took place in someone's little science experiment takes away from the impact of it.

I like the balance between both elements. The duality of fantasy, and sci-fi is part of the series identity. Although Xenosaga was mostly sci-fi.
>t. Akira
Anywho, that's why the X series exists. Just wait on Takahashi to revive that, eventually.

Attached: 765435.png (128x156, 15K)

I've watched quite a bit of anime. The story really isn't all that uncommon or creative desu.
Except for the final bit at the end, the story is terrible predictable and if you know the events it isn't hard to figure out the circumstances on your own.

Gameplay got worse

It's obvious that they're going to retcon it so that when Zanza tries to see into the future, he hears Rex talking to Klaus.

Pyra and Mythra let nia out of the shed once a week

I don't know how that necessarily makes the ending cheesy, but to each his own. I think it's utilized well enough to expand the lore. Overall though, XC2's world probably has the better world building since it's essentially Earth.

But honestly, Astral Chain did a good job with it. There were invaders from another dimension, created by some data god that wants to restore all of creation to its code, but it's not forced in a way that takes away from the scifi and vice versa.

Attached: __akira_howard_astral_chain__77ccf77fa20e977fd9b068896dbc603f.png (800x589, 604K)

cop-chan is cute! needs more r34! R34!!

The real question is: does X take place in the 1 and 2 universe, just out in space?

I know you're probably joking, but that'd be awful. People keep suggesting retcons to the story that would actively spoil relatively key events in XC2. I get that they're parallel universes in essence, but come on.

Well the director did say he made XC1 as shonen as possible. Go figure.

Takahashi is now going to start his perfect works.
No stopping it

>BIG BOODIES XD
Is any franchise safe from weebs?

>implying Xeno hasn't always been weeb

Attached: 1566353369831.jpg (1920x1080, 441K)

Attached: 1444632571654.jpg (600x600, 97K)

We don't know what the deal with X is, really. There's no telling what Takahashi had planned for X, but he apparently wrote an entire novel's worth of plot for the X series, so.. My personal hope, is that XCX1 gets borderline remade in terms of plot to fit the original vision in the Mira artbook, and then things progress from there. As for the connection between 1/2, some people believe it's a prequel, but meh.

Attached: Hungry Frost.gif (302x200, 458K)

There's a difference between weeb, and quality anime, though. Nobody would compare something like the Golden Age of Berserk, to XC2 unironically.
>Japanese franchise
>"AAAAAAAAA WEEB AAAAAA"
Turn your brain on.

I mean, XBC2 has multiple key events that spoil the story.
The second Malos becomes whole about 7/10s into the plot, he whips out Monado skills.
Zanza seeing into the future and not seeing any further is like the second to last scene in the game. It's the final bossfight, for fuck's sake.

the shed is my sex dungeon

>Soraya Saga changed her name on Twitter to Soraya Saga, Screenwriter as of the XC1D remaster announcement
>She hasn't helped write for the Xeno series since her, and Takahashi got the short end of the stick after the controversy surrounding Xenosaga 2
I really think he's doing the Perfect Works, story formula again. Otherwise, there'd be no real reason to remaster XC1 to correct, and retcon lore, and plot. It's all a nice setup for XC3, and I guess eventually the X series.

It still has some cringy moments so there's no arguing that. I'm just thankful for the porn it spawned.

>omg its just like my favorite show!!!
>based nintendo!!!

Attached: 6.webm (1280x720, 2.91M)

I wouldn't say Malos having a Monado necessarily spoils anything, outside of the fact that he's an Aegis, and that Alvis might be one too.

Virtual reality, actually.
>At this research facility, a governing artificial intelligence collective known as the Trinity Processor was raised to maintain the Gate. The processor, using Biocomputer elements, was raised in a virtual reality to gain a personality, and this system would be used to govern the Gate.

>Completely optional quest for a Blade that you could either easily miss, or ignore completely since Kora is a relatively shitty blade to use in combat
I'll give you a 2/10 for effort.

Pyra didn't have one.
A monado from nowhere instantly connects it to spoilers from the last game, and the cutscene after that is Klaus in space.

>because nobody knows japanese when they're created by the Monado.
What did you even mean by this?

Mythra technically did, or at least mentions Monado Arts when she awakens in Chapter 3 after essentially using her version of "visions". Still though, I guess that's true.

She only mentions foresight, not monado by name.
It's your first hint.

Why's the game have moments like this?

So it's not really a stretch to say that the Trinity Processors, or at least Alvis, and Malos chose to use Japanese language for the Monado Arts. We're probably overthinking it, though. Takahashi likely chose to use kanji because it was cool.

I didn't make the game.

I actually quite like the look of the facial features so far. Given that this is only a teaser trailer, and the fact that the expressions in the XC2 announcement trailer looked different compared to the final product, I hope they spruce up the faces a bit more before release.

I dragged myself through XC2 but had a blast with Torna. It'd suffice to say I disagree.

>They initially wanted to expand on the content of Torna via cutscenes
That would have sucked.

Part of Torna's charm, comes from the fact that it's a relatively short prologue compared to the main game. You don't have to worry about being tripped up with Field Skills, grinding for blades, or overly excessive plot/bad pacing. The only downside are the damn Community Quests.

She is to boring for me.
Maybe its because she Is too perfect.

For as much focus as Pyra got in the story, she honestly didn't develop much as a character. Most of Mythra's guilt over the destruction of Torna, and the extent of her powers making her suicidal passed on to Pyra, but in general her character arc was lackluster. Much more could have been done to flesh her out, like per instance Pyra questioning if her existence was real, or having insecurities for essentially being a discount Aegis. There could have been much more done to make her, her own character, but meh.

Sex sells you numb skull. This isn't and has never been exclusive to vidya

LETS BEGIN THE EXPRIMENT

>Tfw most of Mythra's characterization took place in the ending of Torna, an entirely separate game
Kind of sucks

You literally just missed the part where it gets good. Get to Tantal and the game becomes infinitely better.

Those are probably some of the most iconic words I've taken from a JRPG in the last two year.

I didnt like the dumbing down of the gameplay
