The game is set in ancient China during and after the fall of the Han dynasty with some major differences, most notably; Most of the male characters in the novel have become female and The Three Kingdoms that were formed after the Han Dynasty, had already been established. Despite each kingdom being ruled by an independent monarchy, the three kingdoms are still loyal to the Han empire. However, the empire is on the verge of collapse as civil unrest, banditry and infighting bring turmoil to the nation.
I played the new Wu/Go game but got bored of it after a while

I mean of course that was always the goal but they got really ridiculous with it in the sequel. Every character was extremely cookie cutter and every scene was trying to make them look quirky. I think the most obvious example is that the tsundere from the original was supposed to have a really rough, kind of aggressive personality and in the sequel she's a shy pure girl who doesn't even know what a penis is. The whole game felt like a commercial for figurines and body pillows.

There was the first series and its sequels Then they made a new series where you can fuck EVERYBODY and that got multiple sequels Then there were the remakes with some of the above elements Now there's a new set of remakes trying to tell the original plot a bit better

Yeah, there's technically a main story but it's very lazy and phoned in. The point of the game is the routes where you select a character and go on a date. At a certain point, usually after a few dates you get a sex scene. There are a lot of games like this but koihime is by far the highest quality. There are a lot of fuckable girls, like 16 or so total and most of them have great designs. The whole game is also voice acted which is crazy for so many characters in a sex game.
