I personally would pick David Kaye to be Sparda (if he ever shows up in DMC speaking)

I would rather have Drew Coombs or Matthew Kaminsky.
And they showed an Eva flashback, it would also be nice to also see a Sparda flashback where he teaches the twins swordsmanship.

I just wanted to say that I love you all

If they don't hire a decent writer, I don't want him to even be mentioned in the games.

I love you too, user.
Sparda is already mentioned in every game, even DMC2.

slice of life dmc stuff makes me happy

It should be Drew. At any rate I look forward to seeing a flashback with Sparda now that he has a canon human form.

Attached: 1538947121596.jpg (819x1024, 614K)

Ideally Sparda should be fucking nobody, the second he shows up in any significant fashion is the second the series is ruined

Nah man, it's gonna be Michael Wincott
If he brings that smug, yet dignified air to Sparda as he did Death (Darksiders 2), he'd be perfect.

Attached: wincott.jpg (423x600, 45K)

???
He already "showed up" in the first DMC, and DMC3 when Arkham turns into him. And a flash back of something that is already confirmed canon wouldn't do anything to the character. They don't even need to show him, just his voice teaching Dante and Vergil how to fight will be fine.

Attached: 20190627_015739.jpg (515x508, 124K)

A motivational flashback for Dante and Vergil would be fine otherwise I agree. Sparda has been built up too much to have a proper appearance and it's certainly not helped by DMC4 saying in the character files that Dante surpassed Sparda so you'd have to have him perform worse than even Nero at this point.

He was nobody in DMC and it was completely and utterly retarded.

>so you'd have to have him perform worse than even Nero at this point
Nero didn't surpass Sparda, nor did Vergil, Only Dante did as far as confirmed canon goes.

You're not reading my post properly user. DMC4 stated that Dante surpassed Sparda, and even at a young age Nero was able to hang with Dante to a point. In DMC5 Dante's abilities have gone even further and Vergil is canon on the same level as Dante now, the game even told you they're at a draw just to shut down any arguments like this and finally Nero is able to compete with them. Sparda would get fucking destroyed by all 3 of them.

Vergil did Jack shit for 2 decades after getting shit on by Dante at least three times on two different occasions, then comes back equal/ way the fuck stronger than him out of nowhere in V after being dead and stagnated for 2 fucking decades.
Power levels in this game are fucking horse shit.

Sparda faced all of hell and is a General all alone.

>and even at a young age Nero was able to hang with Dante to a point
Nero just hits things hard, it doesnt mean he surpassed Sparda or even at the level of Dante and Nero even says in 4 that Dante was just going easy on him.
>the game even told you they're at a draw just to shut down any arguments like this
The fight was a draw, but after what? After Dante goes and defeats King Cerberus, buffed up Urizen, the three familiars and Vergil, back to back? While Vergil was just there sitting getting ready.
>and finally Nero is able to compete with them
Nero punched a tired Dante, and defeated a tired Vergil who was fighting Dante.
And why would Sparda fight his kids? Power level shouldn't matter here anyways since being stronger and winning in a fight has to do with having heart and not power.

IMO, he should never appear directly but only be expanded upon as hearsay, background lore and environmental stuff. All secondary to the main thrust of the game's plot, but illuminating for longtime fans.

For instance, if DMC6 is a journey through hell then we can hear about him secondhand from various demon survivors of his 'rebellion', remembered alternatively as genocidal madness, an ambitious coup, or salvation from Mundus' tyranny.

If you want fanservice power wank, Dante and Vergil could walk through a giant canyon, later revealed to be 'carved out in single stroke' by their father...etc etc. There's plenty they can do.

>Vergil did Jack shit for 2 decades after getting shit on by Dante
We don't know what he was doing, the V manga is exploring his events from DMC1 onward so we'll probably have the blanks filled by the time its finished.
>then comes back equal/ way the fuck stronger than him out of nowhere in V
V was not more powerful than Dante, he even ran away and got Nero in the beginning of the game because he can't compete like Dante could at that point. It wasn't until Urizen ate the fruit, V found his humanity, and they rejoined that Vergil got his power boost. I will agree that the power levels are bullshit though, I still think it's wrong that the all powerful and sometimes worshiped Sparda is weaker than DMC4 Dante let alone DMC5 Dante. It feels wrong.

>Nero just hits things hard, it doesnt mean he surpassed Sparda or even at the level of Dante
I didn't say he did. You're quoting my argument regarding DMC4 Nero who was no slouch.
>While Vergil was just there sitting getting ready
Keep in mind that Vergil fought not only Dante but a newly powered up Nero as well.
>being stronger and winning in a fight has to do with having heart and not power.
True but when the game itself says Dante is stronger, and Vergil is now on the same level as Dante it's not really possible to argue against it.

I mean him physically appearing beyond what said, strictly as a flashback

The entire story is built up on Sparda's insane legacy, the moment you set a power level for him or remove the mystique of who he actually was he immediately becomes set in stone as a character in a way and it retroactively changes how previous story elements are perceived

Attached: sparda1.png (272x500, 199K)

I love me too.

Attached: 9cbf40da3598e48f8893aa122ee286e5.jpg (800x849, 69K)

>Vergil did Jack shit for 2 decades

We don't know what he did. What we know he was stuck in hell, the novel implies that he got out through a rift caused by the shards of Yamato. He was still strong enough to tear off Nero's arm despite the corruption. When he split from V he split from all his pain and the corruption as well. So Urizen was free of the feeble human body that was breaking down.

>Nero who was no slouch.
He obviously want's, since he had Kyrie motivating him to save her at all costs.
>Vergil fought not only Dante but a newly powered up Nero as well.
Vergil couldn't defeat Dante when he wasn't at his full energy. But that has nothing to do with why their fight was a tie. They tied because both were fighting for the wrong reasons, while Nero was fighting for the right reasons, this is all to it.
>it's not really possible to argue against it.
Sure, but that doesn't mean Nero is stronger than Sparda, at least not yet.
>the moment you set a power level for him or remove the mystique of who he actually was he immediately becomes set in stone as a character
Dante is said to have surpassed Sparda so some of that "mystique" is gone. And I don't really want to see Sparda, just like to hear him scold his kids. And it could also serve as a reference if they brought back Drew for him.

A fighting style will be cool. As a secret unlockable (they could even finally give the Sparda sword the treatment it deserved), or maybe a cutscene of him fighting demons while two millennias ago is playing in the background. but I wouldn't want a boss fight with him. All that build up and legacy just will make the fight turn out mediocre and some what disappointing.

4th kimono goth coat > current kimono goth coat

Attached: DMC5_Vergil_Concept.png (1357x1920, 2.05M)

He looks so good hand drawn.

The fact that Nero landed a scratch on Urizen while Pre-SDT Dante didn't is a strong example of the power levels being incosistent.

They constantly move the goalpost when it comes to Sparda's power as well. Then there's the fact that Dante never uses shit like Quicksilver and Doppelganger when they're 2 of the most broken moves in Dante's arsenal.

Same. Even when we argue about petty stuff, we all still do it because we care about DMC and DMC's main theme is that of love and humanity. Stay crazy anons

If someone made a Sparda prequel game the same way that Bram Stoker's Dracula was made or Raimi's Spider-Man was made then it would be classic.

the same way that Bram Stoker's Dracula was made
With Winona?
>or Raimi's Spider-Man was made
For kids/teens?

I'm so confused.

I think you knew what I meant.

I really don't. I don't see the connection between the two or what you mean. You want it artistic and gothic? or like a superhero flick before they became manufactured? I genuinely want to know what you mean.

Simon Templeman, obviously

He should be voiced by agent 47

>a Sparda flashback where he teaches the twins swordsmanship.
I always assumed he died when they were very little, or maybe even before their birth, since Dante and Vergil talk about him rather impersonally.

>Conscience? You dare speak to me of conscience?! Only when you have felt the full gravity of choice should you dare to question my judgment! Your life's span is a flicker compared to the mass of doubt and regret that I have borne since humanity first turned me from the light! To know that the fate of both realms hangs dependent on the advisedness of my every deed! Can you even begin to conceive what action you would take in my position?!

Attached: 1564135996546.png (995x1830, 3.02M)

That bit of lore was implemented in DMC3 onwards. Apparently Dante and Vergil only saw Sparda in his human form. And we didn't learn that until DMC5 LN.

He should switch into the over-the-shoulder style coat when using V's summoning style with the cane.

Attached: 1527300205711.png (327x173, 10K)

He could have taught them some stuff even as a human.

>I always assumed he died when they were very little
He did. But he did teach his kids important things and even gave them their swords.

Attached: Memories.jpg (1080x409, 269K)

For me it's Keith David.

How did Sparda even die?

Yeah, that kind of fits with all the things that have been said about him.

Honestly, though, I hate what Morihashi has done to the cannon in that novel. I wouldn't trust him to write Sparda since I don't think he'd make him particularly impressive or prolific. He'd just be a dude. They already turned him from the slick snappy dresser in these pics to the Beethoven look alike they got from the concept art of Spencer from the RE4 build.

Fell down some stairs

Staph infection.

Attached: sparda.png (681x688, 70K)

He could still be a slick dresser. Just not after giving birth to Dante and Vergil. Maybe his body started becoming more and more human and aging after he has given up his demonic side, and put them inside of Rebellion, Yamato, and Force Edge (Sparda).

>I hate what Morihashi has done to the cannon in that novel
Same. He somehow managed to remove the mystery around the events in DMC.

>cannon
What cannon? Some new weapon?

Every legend is just a dude when his life is actually witnessed and not just something vaguely hinted between praises. And I don't think you can really blame Morihashi for what artists did.

How?

Impressively so, too. I didn't think they could've made them so mundane but they sure showed me.

Not just that, either. Except for Nero, everyone's lost their charm. In the original concept demons had an intellect far beyond that of humans, which is why only Dante, who is part demon himself and thus, possesses great intelligence, too. Now he's a moron.

The one that bugs me the most is Lady. You don't get to use the excuse that, unlike Dante, you didn't create her so she's hard to get a grasp on. Lady is no longer a passionate badass with intensity and some pretty awesome reloading her gun skills. She's nothing, really... She made a cameo and she shows her ass, that's as far as that goes.

This might sound stupid, but he writes his stuff like some run of the mill anime/light novel. It's kinda generic.

I feel like the only reason 3's story came out the way it did is because it wasn't written by him a lone and had input from other devs as well, even Kamiya.
It's embarrassing what they did to Trish and Lady, they made them into the cheapest form of fan service.

Bingo Morihashi actually does write romance-themed light novels when not working on games, he is somewhat popular for them.
But I don't think he can be blamed for everything, a writer creates a story, but then other people decide what will be taken from it to fit into a game.

>Every legend is just a dude
Except he wasn't a dude. You're a dude, I'm a dude. He was a demon and if a demon is some arbitrary thing then they've turned DMC into Supernatural where the demons are no longer manifestations of evil, like they were at first, now they are just dudes who go to a bar after work (doing demon stuff) and nag about their boss.

If Sparda really was just some nobody who got lucky then we've actually reached the point where we've trivialized everything and nothing is of any real consequence. Dante is just some dude, Vergil is just some dude, Sparda is just some dude and none of them have any real impactful presence. Yeah, sure, they're powerful, but who gives a shit about how powerful they are if they have no significant anything.

The promise of the original gave them all a grand stature, significance. Very much not that anymore, then.

>does write romance-themed
Well that explains a lot.
>can be blamed for everything
True and there's also the fact how some things get lost in translation.

I love how Trish who is Dante's sidekick and by extension 2nd in command in the DMC business is treated like she's on the same level as Lady who's lost all of her cool points after DMC3.

The DMC lore gets worse as more material comes out.

>The DMC lore gets worse as more material comes out.
My thoughts exactly, they just keep pilling on stuff that doesn't really have to be there instead of trying to do the best they can with what they already have.

I think you're both wrong, the lore has generally improved over time.

>they made them into the cheapest form of fan service.
I can't remember where but I heard someone call them pizza sluts. That they got downgraded to pizza sluts. Not sure that's accurate but the idea holds.

It's not about being 'strong, independent women.' Fuck that expression. People who are strong and independent don't need to constantly put that on their business cards, their actions speak for them.

Anyway, I think the idea is that they are all but window dressing, now. They're there because they are fan favorites and there is a demand for more Trish and Lady which, at first, sounds fucking awesome, but then this happens.

I honestly think that DMC was a James Bond type of deal, each game would get a new 'Bond' girl, but when 3 got popular peoples started demanding comeback roles for fan favorites. If Nero hadn't been the focus of 4 we've might've had a 4th Dante girl instead. It might've been for the best because now they don't know what to make of them. Lady is money hungry, which is not something I'd want for that girl she was in 3, and Trish is all but devoid of character and presence, and both are downright generic pedestrian NPCs.

Now that I look at it, Nero being Vergil's son is pretty BS

Attached: uHuIRasBj9E.jpg (284x295, 24K)

And you are, ofcourse, welcome to like anything you want, but do you really find it better now? While it was never a particularly solid canon having a robot arm on a main character equates to me having your dinosaurs in space for your Dino Crisis sequel. Yeah, it's just a game and it's made to open up gameplay possibilities but in terms of lore we are really jumping the shark. When you establish a genre for your series, action horror for this case, shoving other genres in the sequel is where you will start to feel like the whole thing is proposturious even if your initial idea was proposturious to begin with.

Yeah, I never cared for that angle either. I preferred the notion that Sparda had many children over the 2000 years of his 'human' life. Not only was he a good looking dude but he was a legend and legends get laid. He had children and descendants that never had to fight so THEY never became legend. Seemed more grounded than the idea that he was 'waiting' for the true love of Eva and never wanted any other woman.

Wow his face looks so much better in the hand drawn versions. I wish they had tried harder to match that because he looks like classic yet older Vergil in those illustrations.

I'm still partially hoping that Nero's mother was a succubus of some sort who managed to charm Vergil. Which could explain his weird looking Devil Trigger form.

Attached: 3561261512.png (540x381, 241K)

Would being a 3/4 demon make Nero stronger than the twins?

Attached: 1556000029501.jpg (960x720, 114K)

>When you establish a genre for your series, action horror for this case
It was hardly even action horror in DMC1. When the first thing that happens in a series is the main character getting stabbed with an electrified sword while a chick in leather throws a bike at him, it's not possible to really jump the shark.

Humanity is a buff though? Or at the very least neutral.

Dunno and that's what I think would be cool as shit. At first I thought being a mix of succubus, demon and human wouldn't make sense because he'd look grotesque with less humanity. But technically most succubus look human, even Nevan despite the blue skin. Which Nero actually has blue skin in his DT form.

Attached: o_dls3yTHjqhttAT2R-Yo4xHtec_fdGBYCgVc3lKmnQ.jpg (640x528, 83K)

On the side that it was actually said Nero is more human than his father and uncle, a succubus would just try to kill Vergil, which would make him kill her.
Devil Trigger can be influenced by genetics, but it's also dependent on state of mind, and Nero's hints a lot to Fortuna, the Savior statue and Credo.

>By DMC4, Dante is stronger than Sparda
>DMC5 takes place after
>Dante gets rekt by Urizen
>Nero with the Breakers does better against Urizen than Dante did and this is after a month of blood power up

So yes, Nero has also surpassed Sparda.

>>Nero with the Breakers does better against Urizen than Dante did and this is after a month of blood power up
That seems to be more of an outlier desu

Attached: 1561056787090.jpg (250x373, 20K)

I think it's fine, especially now after 5 developed on Vergil's character more

Attached: 1555101640067.jpg (864x566, 93K)

Yeah Lady in 3 was an actual strong female character. She did things that needed to be done, but she was still unmistakably a girl.
Same. They tried really hard to make Nero cooler than Dante in any way they could, but it all still falls flat imo.
Honestly they should've made Devil-breakers more demonic looking. They kinda seem out of place in a DMC game. Hell the only thing that makes them even related to demons is because the game just says so. But during gameplay, it might as well be a weapon sent from the future or an alien artifact.

Its pretty clear cut. Dante had a quick run to Urizen and then gets beat soundly. Nero had to go through all of Redgrave and many battles to get back to Urizen, who had a month to get even stronger from the human blood and did better than Dante did pre-DSD. Of course the game is a big fan service game so everyone gets time to shine and Dante is stronger than ever by the end.

I don't know why people still discuss power levels like they have some logical progression and are not 90% dependent on what motivates a certain character.

Attached: 1553680149217.jpg (963x646, 96K)

>I don't know why people still discuss power levels
Oh come on now we all know the reason

Attached: sample-2f45d441f3aec68febc701e6266a54b9.jpg (1286x900, 194K)

>was a succubus of some sort who managed to charm Vergil.
What a shit taste

In regards to Sparda's power level remember it's probably not actually constant in universe.
Remember he split his power off into 3 blades, Rebellion, Yamato and Devil Sword Sparda.

For 2000 years he was separated from DSS which appears to be his main sword given how it bears his name.
And in the end he wound up giving his other two swords to his sons.
So surpassing Sparda could mean having surpassed him at the end of his known life.

What other explanation do you have for it to make sense then, retard

None and it still would be better than this shitty muh succubus mom

Why do Dante and Vergil look so different compared to their father? It seems like the only trait they inherited from him is a pair of downward curving horns.

Attached: 1553660050021.png (2048x2048, 1.89M)

>None
No argument then

Attached: 1567098587551.png (807x857, 754K)

A Breath of Fire guy designed them, so Dragon's were probably a major influence.

Vergil wanted to fuck some whore, the end.

Succubus are whores user

>Vergil
>wanted to fuck some whore

Attached: 1556638760450.jpg (778x813, 362K)

That sounds like something Dante would do.

Succubus are soul-sucking whores, user, don't act like they are just some free-spirited girls with purple skin.

She needs to be human though

He's young and wanted some fun

Vergil doesn't hate humans, he is very impartial to them. Obviously he isn't as castrated as everyone keeps furiously insisting that he is because he's 'too cold and collected.' To insist so fiercely that he wouldn't fuck unless he's under some magical spell is even more retarded than any other premise.

>Implying Vergil wouldn't survive a succubus trying to suck his soul while he's too motivated to give a shit

>he split his power off into 3 blades
There is nothing implying that. In 3 they say that he sealed his power with the passage to hell. He used it as a lock. Those weapons didn't actually have his power, they had power of their own.

>Impartial to humans
>Random no-name whore on the street is ok though

Judging by the DMC3 manga, Vergil would slice her up before she even opens her mouth.

Attached: pg34-35.jpg (1200x892, 206K)

>Random whore
Dan said that whoever it was would have been important to Vergil and considering he helps with the script I'd take his word as canon, at least until contradicted.

If we're going by the DMC3 manga, he doesn't seem much to care for whores either

Attached: devil-may-cry-3-1645146.jpg (800x1271, 204K)

>whoever it was would have been important to Vergil
what if it was his mother?

Attached: 1559352058805.png (1215x810, 50K)

>Vergil knocks up his own dead mother to spawn Nero
Would explain the angel traits to Nero's DT I suppose

Attached: 1538209794084.jpg (355x429, 110K)

It's another Yamato in human form

Attached: 1562036624542.jpg (1200x799, 153K)

That is a little girl who magically aged herself up.

Wasn't that a demon?

holy shit that tongue

Eva wasn't an angel user, you're thinking of the DmC reboot's retarded version of Eva where she was an angel.

pic related looks better desu

Attached: 1555937845109.jpg (1359x1967, 883K)

If you're going to discuss DMC lore don't use Tokyopop's idea of what American teens like to read.

Attached: pg98-99.jpg (1200x900, 226K)

Naw user think about it, Eva died and went to heaven so she's an angel now.

The person Vergil also sliced up in your image was only a female demon too.

That was the point, a succubus is a demon, and Vergil slices up demons.

Itsuno said there is no Heaven, Eva probably reincarnated.

My bad i didn't read what you were responding to.

>No cold dead stare of malice
>Moe face
trash

I like to think Kyrie is Dante's daughter together with something like this.

You don't read much, do you?

The book didn't say she was a whore, it said that they THOUGHT she was a whore because that was the kinds of people that dropped off kids at the orphanage back then. They weren't trying to tell you that she got paid to fuck but that the people at the orphanage treated Nero like it. It's so they can say he got treated like shit as a kid. What the book ACTUALLY says is that she went to Fortuna because she thought that they would treat him well as a descendant of Sparda, that since he looked the part they might be extra nice to him.

ayyy, shota vergil and dante cute

DMC 3 manga is kinda retarded with the alice storyline.

It's a joke user. Bloody hell you must be fun at parties.

Attached: 1568068514639.jpg (567x548, 172K)

Fair enough, I just find the artstyle more pleasant on this. The one you gave looks a bit rough

Attached: 1554495215942.jpg (540x960, 73K)

Look at 5’s section on the Legend of Sparda.
It says he slit his power into 3 parts.
The Dark Knight Sparda.
Wielding a massive sword that shared his name, Sparda laid the demon king to rest, along with his subordinates. He then sealed the gate connecting both worlds, using a sword as the key. While most records offer little to no details about this weapon, many speculate it to be the Sword of Sparda.
And yet, the following was written in a record of devil swords I discovered:
>"The Dark Knight Sparda split his power in three parts. One blade bore his own name; the second blade was named to embody retaliation; the final blade was named to embody a god of death." If this is true, then there are two other devil swords out there besides Sparda. Sparda was sealed by the dark knight himself, but no one has found any documents pertaining to the locations of the other two blades...
Retaliation blade was Rebellion and Death God blade was Yamato.

The Tokyopop translation is great though.

>Sparda's family is one big ball of incest
Well incest is only a few letters away from Insect and Sparda is a bug so it fits.

That's the point I was making. The original translation was considered overly vulgar similar to old fansubs and the weird storyline didn't help either.

STOP

Attached: 1561233710531.png (614x663, 149K)

Yeah, I gathered.

And the lore just keeps getting more and more convoluted and self contradicting.

It's also incomplete. THere was supposed to be a part 3 but the artist called it quits before starting that one.

Lower right panel is perfect for a reaction image. I would do it, but my ip is banned from uploading.

Nowhere in that post did I mention anything about a book. Because it was a joke. Maybe you're the one who doesn't read much.

>my ip is banned from uploading
wat

>It's also incomplete. THere was supposed to be a part 3 but the artist called it quits before starting that one.
That's fucking stupid but the manga was kinda shit so far so I guess its for the best? The only side material that turned out good was the 1 novel and now the vov manga.

It can be a funny read, but it's not good when trying to discuss story and characters, as it's questionable how much the game creators know what went in and if they are okay with exchange of opinions including mention of giant dick.

That's not how heaven works, and there are no angels in dmc anyway.
Didn't dmc1 have Eva's spirit talk to Dante?

Yep you can get range banned from uploading only while still able to post it. I'm not the only one, I've seen other anons complaining about it too. Worse thing is that I didn't even do anything, thanks hiroshima.
Much appreciated

It's a shame since that one was supposed to give more insight into Lady's life.

You can't change your IP? I thought the range bans were from banned posters switching ips.

>Eva's spirit
I don't recall her actually talking, except in a flashback, but Kamiya intended to have her spirit be in the amulet and be the one to revive Trish, but what came of that plot point later is unknown, seems to be abandoned.

Are we discussing if it makes sense that Vergil got boned? It doesn't Itsuno said he added it in because he wanted Vergil in 4 but it didn't make sense so he hamfisted in a son without working out how. The DMC3 manga is canon and show he has no patience for humans. The recent manga literally says that he never paid any attention to human. And it's a direct translation.
And Dan argued with the writing direction over it too because he was becoming out of character. And the special edition scene of 4 makes even less sense.

It's a fucking mess and at this point it would probably be better to just never elaborate on it. I'd rather it stay a mystery than be explained in the worst way possible. Unless they actually take the time to write an entirely new story explaining it in detail for Vergil's motivations make sense.

>The DMC3 manga is canon
It's not

All supplementary material is.

It kinda is.
>It's been a whole year since we last met

>Itsuno said he added it in because he wanted Vergil in 4 but it didn't make sense so he hamfisted in a son without working out how.
Source pls

No it's not, the DMC1 comic isn't canon either.

They met a year ago, that's the only part that's canon. The manga itself isn't.

>itsuno wanted vergil in 4
>so he made a dante clone instead

Whatever doesn't contradict the games is canon. The dmc1 novel has gilver, tony, nell and grue as canon.

DMC1 comic is most likely now forgotten by everyone except die-hard fans. If you think DMC1 novel, the character of Gilver is still a bit of an issue, but Nico is literally Nell's granddaughter, and other characters were referenced in DMC5 manga, so they are still canon.
They don't do these things for shit and giggles, it's both to make some more money, but also because you can't cram everything into a game.

I got no problem with Vergil having sex or a child, it's just how it was executed that bothers me.
>And Dan argued with the writing direction over it too because he was becoming out of character
Huh I never heard about this, would like some source on it.
You don't have any facts for or against this, but considering the anime and the dmc1 novel are half canon, I'd say the DMC3 manga is a similar case. The DMC1 comic was an alternate retelling of 1's story, 3 was new stuff.

Yeah the DMC1 novel is partly canon but the DMC3 manga is not.

DMC3 manga sheds light on how Arkham and Vergil met, and doesn't contradict anything, if it was not actually canon they would point it out, like it was pointed out for DMC4 novel that it's Bingo doing his own thing and should be taken with reserve.

Attached: 1553835884834.png (500x500, 159K)

>Gilver is still a bit of an issue,
In the novel its implied it's one of Mundus' angelos he sent to fight tony.

I've only read summary, but it seems it was implied a bit too vaguely to take it as a fact, although it's the most logical explanation.

youtube.com/watch?v=BBolcmvRbX4
>that music
>that set up for a villainous Dante
DMC4 was my first DMC game and I liked it, but now that I know all these things related to DMC and have played all the games I realize just how much of disappointment 4 was.

It would be weird if she was just a human. Because if he was his younger DMC3 self, it was at this point in time where he didn't value his humanity at all, or just humanity in general. So why would he go for a human, wouldn't he want to fuck someone with less humanity?
It's why I thought an anons logic in her being a succubus is somewhat reasonable because of that.

It's 2019 and we still don't know the name of the OST in the trailer.

What, Vergil can't be an ordinary dumbass for a short while? Villain having a moment of normalcy and taking in a woman with power to soothe the (real and/or metaphorical) devil in him is a common thing in fiction. The chick ends up dumped soon after and with a son that grows up to be the better version of his father, often with an older male, a foil to his father, to guide him.

It's probably just some unreleased song made specifically for the trailer.
Similar case like the song from DmC reveal (starts at 00:43) youtube.com/watch?v=OgfXeUldLt4

Isn't this woman who sings this song the same one who did the vocals for Crimson Cloud?

Simon Templeman

Nero at the end there sounds like Vergil

Read the full translation, Bingo took everything that happened in DMC1 novel besides directly mentioning gilver and made it canon.Gilver not being canon would make that impossible because all the shit that went down in the DMC1 novel is gilver's doing.

I don't think so, but it does sound somewhat similar

When you make it a point to call her a whore it's a reference to the light novel since it's the only place where they say she was a prostitute. You don't have to say book just like we don't have to say video game so don't be an intentional retard.

>What the book ACTUALLY says is that she went to Fortuna because she thought that they would treat him well as a descendant of Sparda, that since he looked the part they might be extra nice to him.
Are you pulling this out of your arse or is this actually true? Why would she abandon Nero then?

SPARDAAAAAAAAA!

Attached: Beowulf.gif (430x600, 84K)

straight out of his ass

>That excrement Sparda had TWO scoops!?

Bingo retconned Gilver being Vergil. It's just an Angelo proto-type made by Mundus.

DMC essentially has 3 separate continuities: Kamiya, Itsuno/Bingo (main one) and the Ninja Theory Reboot.

Maybe you're a newfag. But I was making a reference to the thread art like pic related.

Attached: 315135215251.jpg (619x800, 60K)

Maybe you should quote the correct user first.

>counting the reboot

Attached: 1554704001808.png (378x365, 141K)

What the fug I thought I did.

that's what I think aswell and within Itsuno's continuity a bunch of softretcons exists to fit everything together besides DmC

Well either way you are correct, there's nowhere that it's mentioned for the reasoning of abandonment.
He pulled this out of his ass.

Vergil hates demons even more than his lack of care for human existence. The man only tolerates things. The only thing he ever loved was his mother.

>Vergil hates demons even more than his lack of care for human existence
Got a source for that? Wasn't the entire point of DMC3 Vergil that he cared more for being a demon than human and wanted more demonic power, wanting to drive out his humanity seeing it as a form of weakness. He also got offended by Arkham when stabbing him, as he mentioned that he's "ONLY" a half breed.

bros will there be dmc news tomorrow

This would actually work.

But does anyone else want Jason David Frank? I feel like it HAS to be a Power Ranger or someone who's done toku work before.

Don't worry, the Reboot won't hurt you.

It's almost good, but this guy is too much.

Holy shit, user. Great taste. I've always loved that trailer and I've always preferred some of the vocal delivery there compared to what we ended up getting.

>You really think you're a match for me? Then show me. Let's play.
>A little refinery does make life a little more interesting...don't you think?
>Now I know...this hand was made for sending guys like you BACK TO HELL!
>Return it to me...and I'll let you go.
>TRY THIIIIS

So good. And the way the music starts to kick in once you first see Nero is so good.

Man, I still feel like 4's plot was just a lot of bullshit happening with no real particular focus.

>source for that
Source for what? He kills demons he doesn't like them. He wants POWER that means embracing the blood given to him by Sparda and making hell his bitch not living side by side with his demon "brethren" or some nonsense like that. Demons killed his mother. How did that go over your head?

Yeah, but he also blamed his human weakness for failing to protect his mother more so than the demons killing her. Isn't it Dante who hates demons more for killing his mother, not Vergil?

It would be awesome if DMC and Darkstalkers was set in the same universe, but i doubt Capcom would ever do that

>David Kaye

Attached: 1558847531973.jpg (540x155, 64K)

Personally I just wish they'd try for some more crossover stuff as bonus content. They sort of did that with Dead Rising and Streetfighter but a Viewtiful Joe costume could be neat.
Having a shield based off of Amaterasu's reflectors or a gauntlet weapon based on Asura could also be great.

they both hate demons equally but go about it different ways.Dante and Vergil don't hate all demons though.

Does anyone else remember Nero's bringer being yellow instead of blue?

Attached: 168045eef1b20d9d3ab4bc8bba6905eb.jpg (1280x720, 65K)

Attached: ECnr01TUEAI0o6H.jpg (1200x1200, 229K)

I wonder, if Nero were to DT using DSD, would he transform into DT Dante or into SDT Dante

Yeah. It was shown off in the TGS trailer too.
Not sure whether I'd prefer it that way.
I've grown fairly used to the blue.
If I had to choose another colour I'd go for purple as a callback to his grand dad.

Vergil and Dante split up following the attack on their home and Eva's death. They're both very young in DMC3, probably only 18. Vergil visiting Fortuna to learn about Sparda is canon, maybe, as is one of the followers falling for Vergil. Maybe we can assume that Vergil saves her from demons and it all becomes pottery of him following in Sparda's footsteps. But then he loses his way because of Arkham and his lust for power.

You guys might not like the truth, but you have to know. Nero's mom was an artificial demon experiment. The proof is in Nero's DT possessing angelic/bird like features like feathers. Only artificial demons have those looks, like Credo and Lucia. That means Agnus' experimented on citizens of Fortuna, that may or may not have had any family to care for them. Vergil mated with one and the rest is history.

Attached: dc863ba608e59fc4c640536970c316c2712d14afr1-338-600v2_hq.jpg (338x600, 49K)

I'd think it'd be a matter of how deeply he tapped into the power.
I'd lean towards Sin DT as that's what described as the "true form".

Seeing Bringer Claws + Sword Formation could be cool.

I wonder whether Yamato would restore his DMC4 DT (as in just give him the full stand), or turn his DT much more Vergil like.

Only thing is why would agnus and the order be surprised that nero has demonic powers

Attached: 1563783430360.gif (390x339, 170K)

See this falls into the same problem though
>I fucked a woman because daddy did
It's stupid.

>Secretary demons were based on Agnus' work
>Lucia is actually a clone of Nero's mom
>Or Nero's mom is still alive and secretary demons are cloned from her
>Any way the point is that Nero and Vergil and maybe Lucia have to take on Uroboros as revenge or to save Nero's mom
>Also Bianco/Alto Angelos are back because they were the best enemies in 4
There's your DMC6 plot.

Attached: 1564976591687.png (759x759, 229K)

Agnus made sure that his "experiments" wouldn't go out and mate with others since they might have some disease. Nero's mom snuck out and mated anyways and was never caught.

I member. At one time his demon arm was yellow and his ghost arm blue.

>those demo style names
>Do it!
>Big up!
>All that!
>Slammin' Beat!
>SmaSh Hit!!
>StyliSh Showtime!!!

Attached: d700e32d9a323bb733b373c4e4005ade.jpg (1080x608, 134K)

I wasn't saying that Vergil did it because Sparda did, just for pottery reasons he ends up following in his father's footsteps.

Vergil could have very easily tried to embrace his humanity and put aside his pursuit for revenge for a short time. Long enough at least for him to romance a woman and have a son. They could find some little story to tell if they wanted to.

Bloody hell I can post images again!

Attached: devilmaycryart_036-large.jpg (1280x720, 944K)

And there is the next problem, given Vergil sudden exceptions and doing a 180 on his character because the perfect woman walked into his life. Of course there is a chance to tell a story but there are a lot of way to mess it up and turn Vergil into even more of a deplorable character or completely skew his motivations.

He's also the prototype fortuna castle main hall

Attached: 926315-sss37.jpg (800x450, 59K)

I wish Nero's bringer wings in 5 still had some red sections.
Sure most of his DT in 4 was solid blue but I liked the Red and Blue mix he had going.

I don't know how to tell you this user

Attached: 74856848646.jpg (548x512, 25K)

No.
Capcom's schedule is already out I think. No DMC news at all.

>Man, I still feel like 4's plot was just a lot of bullshit happening with no real particular focus.
Tell me about it. I the original concept they have was a lot better, but they got scared of fan backlash and also run out of budget.

He was young once.

the pachincco cut cutscennes were so rad tho

the 12th

Tomorrow night
Get ready for disappointment

user, there is nothing for TGS, there is nothing for VGA, the devs already said that there is nothing else, move on, let go

All evidence kinda suggests that Dante surpassed Sparda a while ago.

Isn't matt going to be at tgs?

Just like how Capcom said a couple years before DMC5 was announced that they had no plans for DMC. One of these days you're going to be wrong.

They were always different. Sparda was always a giant beetle but Dante and later Vergil were always more associated with dragons.

>one of these days
see you in like 5 years

>there's a way to edit enemy spawns in DMC4/4SE
>the way it's done is obscure enough that not many know about it

>Sparda was a legendary demon that single handed took down the underworld armies and their two demon kings, with his own power(no fruit needed)
>Rode a gyron into battle
>Sparda could steal a demon's name and it's power along side of it, mas make weapons out of it
>Split his power into 3 different swords plus some other ammulets, all of them has a great portion of his power

Mundus brainwashed the heterosexuality out of him

>Agnus
>Arius
>Arkham
I wouldn't be adverse to some plot twist that all three are former members/defectors from some underground secret society, a hellfire club of sorts.
Could be a interesting setup for Nero to deal with on the 'human side' while D+V are occupied in the demon world.

He fucked the Fortuna chick, before the Mundus brainwashing though.

Does Lucia count as Arius' daughter?

Does Trish count as Mundus' daughter?

Attached: 1544427147241.jpg (515x504, 211K)

arius might be her father but Dante is her daddy

V is bigger fujo bait than Nero so yes

Attached: 1553006608336.gif (268x350, 2.96M)

>Henry Cavill
He's cool, don't get me wrong. But I'd rather have DMC celebrity free.

Attached: 111.jpg (620x621, 134K)

Being fujo bait doesn't mean you're gay. Fujo fantasies aren't canon. Also Nero has always been more popular with Homosexuals than Fujos.

He slayed Fortuna puss when he was heterosexual then his brain got Mundus'd and was able to produce something like V

He was already V lite when he was younger though. Did Mundus get to him then?

He was V until Mundus fucked up his life.

I think you mean moth

It was the opposite. Mundus turned V into Vergil. It kickstarted his PTSD and Autism.

What do you think the flashback will be for V getting Nightmare?

Vergil and Dante are equal, ergo Vergil has surpassed Sparda

Dante with wavy hair is cute

the dynamic for this would be so fucking good for an entire game. A more evil Dante would be great too

Why did DMC5 have 3 different voice directors?

So it would get done faster, plus they might've required different things for each.

problem is, with dante i can never seem to reach ss, let alone sss
using a 360 controller and switching styles is kinda tough, even when i can see a move telegraphed from a mile away, needing to lift my thumb to RG results in me pressing SM or GS instead.

It would still be interesting to see evil Dante and good Vergil.

You shouldn't try to Royal Guard and TRICKSWORD everything. SSS is easy with Dante thanks to weapon switching and swormaster.

I figured being brainwashed by Mundus turned him against his own humanity so Mundus would be directly responsible for Vergil trying to split it off.

If 0, bend over

I don't think "evil" is the absolute right word. But maybe being Vergil's antagonist for a game for a novel little reversal.

You're not far off that point, we saw Mundus mentioning that to Vergil in the manga after his loss.
