Why do you waste your time recommending games / asking for game recommendations?

Why do you waste your time recommending games / asking for game recommendations?

-No two people in this universe have the same tastes so a game your like is a game other people hate.
-If you know yourself well enough you can easily tell if a game is worth playing or not.
-There are enough information sources (that aren't critics or paid shills) to find about games you never heard about and to know if a game is worth playing or not.
-If someone dislikes a game you recommended, that someone will attack the threads you make about the game, making the discussion harder.

this thread, unlike rec threads, is really important

The best part is that half the time it's some old 2D platformer or some shit that's super quick to get into. I can at least understand if it's an RPG or strategy game or something that takes some time to sink into, but more often than not they could just play the fucking game for a few minutes.
>If you know yourself well enough you can easily tell if a game is worth playing or not.
This is dumb. This is how you end up getting burnt out and bored with life because you just do the same exact shit you've always been doing. You gotta try new shit, and you can't use "How similar is it to my old shit?" as a standard because that's what losers do.

I asked for a recommendation once, was a pretty good decision because the game I got to play is now one of my favorite games.
In the end I dont really understand your complaints, they dont make sense.

games Yea Forums recommend me that I had either never heard about or that I knew about it but never had interest in playing before
>vagrant story
>pandora's box
>smt strange journey
>chulip
>alundra
>fallout 2
>underail
>stalker
>pathologic 2
>world of horror
>siren
>god hand
>shinobi
those are the ones I can think of

1)There are people with similar tastes.
2)There will be more threads about games that I like rather than usual faggotry.

All of those are very well-known, praised games that could be recommended here or there.
The only reason you think Yea Forums is special is because you don't spend your time on any other videogame community.

brainlet weeb post

Rec threads are the only worthwhile threads on this stupid fucking board.

Ouch
Yea Forums really isn't anything special anymore huh? Its just another forum.

Fuck off, Tomie.

Other than stalker and fallout 2 those are very niche games, you can't fucking tell me that alundra and chulip are well known games. You might find an obnoxious youtuber reviewing them, but I just find the reviews after I'm already looking for the game. I can't browse every single videogame community to know which one is the best, but Yea Forums is much better than any subreddit and I don't care about old abandoned forums

Why do you keep making this thread?

was meant for

k

Just let them do what they like. People recommend me games all the time and I ignore every single one of them.

Her smugness aura...

SO that’s how it is, huh? Fine, I’ll stop recommending you anything, faggot.

>There are enough information sources (that aren't critics or paid shills) to find about games you never heard about
That just isn't true, some small games always sneak past them
And in the end, Yea Forums is another information source
An information source that tends to be more reliable than any other as long as you find a poster who actually likes videogames, and it isn't as hard to find as people think

Why do you waste your time making shitty threads? I guess we'll never know.

>no two people
I’m not looking for an exact copy of me, I’m looking for some bangin games. Would’ve never found Lost Planet 2, Red Steel 2 Way of the Samurai and Binary Domain if not for these niggers. I don’t have to like their entire library, just one real fucking good game will suffice.
>worth playing or not
I’ve ignored games only to come back to them because some user describes it so well I get caught up in his tale and want something like that as well. Dragon’s Dogma for a good example, Vampyr for bad.
>information sources
Like what? Reddit? Those game sites that take too fucking long to load while giving you some horrible ‘nerd’ memes trying to describe “cool and obscure” games to you.
>making discussions harder
This is actually good, the user deciding can weigh the pros and cons instead of just falling for shills. Seriously, fuck whoever shilled Vampyr to me, I might go back to finish it just to get my money’s worth but it’s not even a shadow of what Bloodborne’s base game is.

Teen thread.

I wouldn't have known about Arx Fatalis without Yea Forums telling me about it.

I mostly agree but honestly I could tell Vampyr would be a piece of shit just from the gameplay footage. While actually playing the game can be important, with action games it's easy to tell whether the developer is competent just by the animation work and feedback.

>No two people in this universe have the same tastes so a game your like is a game other people hate.
no, but approximate overlap of tendencies can help you.
>If you know yourself well enough you can easily tell if a game is worth playing or not.
not if you have insufficient information.
>-There are enough information sources (that aren't critics or paid shills) to find about games you never heard about and to know if a game is worth playing or not.
indeed, so much infact that it is difficult navigating that information to find the relevant one yourself.
>-If someone dislikes a game you recommended, that someone will attack the threads you make about the game, making the discussion harder.
not everyone is a retard. but it would take one to spot one, right?

you are completely invalidating your thread by on the one hand discarding the opinion of others as irrelevant to your own interpretation, but on the other hand conced that there are many people out there that parse and summarize that information, when all information is inevitably colored through the subjective lense of the taste of the individual reviewing and transforming it into an easier to digest form: the information sources you tout as the major pillar on which you base your "DIY" game finding.

tldr: shit thread, you are fundamentally wrong and do not even see the obvious flaw in your argument.

Other videogame communities also apply to OP, unless otherwise stated.
>Why do you waste your time recommending games / asking for game recommendations in other game forums

I've got a recommendation for you OP
Drink bleach

You sound like an autistic 14 year old who just discover atheism desu.
People like interacting with each other, even socially retarded shut-ins like people who gather here. You will understand once you grow up.

I wish I payed more attention to feedback and gamefeel. I could ignore tedious mechanics but if I have to sit through a tedious mechanic AND suffer through terrible controls I’d just avoid the game.

Any good indie games or any comfy games out there?

There are some genres that I like or just got into but don't know about the subtle nuances of the best games

Finally someone says it.

maybe I just want a VIDEO GAME to play you goddamn autist
you could've been playing a VIDEO GAME instead of making this dumb thread y'know
