1. Specific slavic mindset. Slavs are not big into power fantasy, they feel more comfortable creating games where the player is, at least initially, weak and underprepared to deal with the dangers of the world around him.
2. More emphasis on gameplay than graphics since most slav developers can't afford modern AAA tier graphics anyway (which is a good thing on its own because modern AAA games look like shit due to looking too good. I hope you understand what I mean).
3. Experimentation with gameplay.
4. Quirky local beliefs and customs, culture etc. Slavs imagine different fantasies than westerners. Where a westerner would imagine a majestic creature roaming in a meadow by the stream, a slav would imagine something ugly, deformed and terrifying.
