I’ve been getting a lot of joy out of my switch. If they revision it, I’ll just buy it on day one again. Must suck being poor.

I've been waiting but I think I'll have to get it for DP2 on launch. If anything I'll trade it in or hand it off to a little cousin as a gift once the newer version comes out, or when a game that I'd actually need the theoretical new switch for comes out.

Yeah I'm making the jump to Switch, I'm hoping they release a Pro or something. The Lite looks neat but no TV out kills me for me.

Games like that are a bit lower on the totem pole as far as optimization is concerned. You're gonna be waiting for a hot moment.

phone with a GPU bolted to it. The entire design around its internals reflects modularity and expansion on current features. How numb is your brain to not see this

even if they don't straight up upgrade the hardware, they will always refresh it for manufacturing purposes. some slight changes in form factor, screen, materials used, changes in IO, etc. are pretty much inevitable in ANY hardware that expects to be on the market for 5+ years.

They're not going to match current generation hardware if that's what you were expecting.

I'm only expecting a tighter, cleaner machine with a nicer screen, something like DS Lite to the original DS. A less idiotic docking system would also be appreciated.

They already did, they replaced the Tegra with a newer lower nm revision, used another NAND supplier and replaced the screen.
This is normal when producing millions of devices, you don't want to be dependent on one manufacturer. Also every time a real new console revision comes out (PS 4 Pro, Xbox One X) they change the whole fucking thing anyway.

Compressed air doesn’t do shit, it has no mass, that’s why contact cleaner was invented.
My sticks started drifting almost 2 years ago and I fixed it in 15 minutes and 4 euros. Just spray that shit inside and don’t overdo it or you’ll get tacky residue covering the button contacts. It will wear off but there’s no reason to deal with it.

I would buy both but the current one doesnt seem worth buying right now.

Yeah I've been holding out on buying a switch, but I actually ordered a switch this weekend. Since the version with the improved battery life is a thing and daemon x machina is coming out soon.

Games had ports in both 3ds and wiiu ran differently. Different resolutions on textures, different screen reso, different framerates, etc etc.

Depends on what you're waiting for, really. I've been enjoying games on my launch model for several years now. Handheldonlyfags now have two compelling options in the Lite and the revised base model, which offers better battery life. Value's what you make of it. Some people find more value in having the hardware early and playing games now than waiting for a potentially better product or price, but not using it in that time. Just go with what works for you.
