BL2's DLC are pretty good. Better than the main game.

The guns were pretty fucking good in the first one, and kind of went to shit in the second one due to the inclusion of different manufacturers making different types of guns. It meant you could no longer get guns you wanted. Snipers specifically got majorly shafted in 2 due to that mechanic.

french dub was pretty good in 2, save for a few sidequest as the shitty meme references went over the translators head, but the main characters have very fitting voice it was our Cartam voice actor that dubbed Handsome Jack and it worked out great

Borderlands 1 was fine because there were no jokes in it. Unfortunately they "improved" wrong part of game in Borderlands 2.

That’s totally fair. For me it works just fine but I getchya. I miss playing BL2 and Diablo 3 and having a good grind for loot.

Remnant was the last game I played like that, but I already have all of the items and achievements after ~35 hours and nothing else to do. Hoping and praying it gets sizable updates because it’s been a blast honestly.

I think there’s some things in BL3 we’ve yet to see and sink our teeth into like Takedowns and, depending on how they’re handled, it could be really cool. Guess we’ll see.

The manufacturers in BL1 basically determined the dominant stats of a gun and it's paint job.

Atlas was always white and was the best all-around but stupid rare/expensive.

Hyperion tended to be a shade of red and boasted the best accuracy.

S&S was always yellow and black and had large magazines and low elemental bonuses.

What I hated in BL1 was the lack of weapon model variety. For example, literally every "combat rifle", whether it was semi-auto, burst fire, or a full-auto LMG had the same base model.

The problem to me is just don't see borderlands being relevant anymore to anyone besides the hardcore fans. I remember when 2 came out, everyone and their mother played it; boomers, zoomers, animefags, fucking everyone. Things change though; the market has shifted away from loot shooters, first to hero shooters, now battle royale. Moreover they have serious competition from Destiny, a game which in many ways is also just as bad as borderlands but is fresher in the mind of the lowest common denominator gamer.

Now we've had many other similar games iterate on and improve the formula (at least relatively speaking since looter shooters aren't great). Borderlands 3 missed the boat, it should have released 4 or 5 years ago at the latest before Destiny took over the genre. Now Borderlands 3 is in a situation where it is the Crackdown 3 of looter shooters. What was good or passable a decade ago last gen, doesn't cut it now.

Also fuck the oxygen mechanic in TPS, it's completely unnecessary and makes fire elemental weapons absolutely useless. Also fuck Moxxi, literally the most boring character there is; her only personality trait is that she fucked a lot of men.

Borderlands has some of the most shitty, overbearing writing in gaming. Unless you just turn the voice audio off and completely skip the dialogue, you CANNOT avoid hearing shitty jokes. And if you're bombarded with hours upon hours of shitty jokes, you're going to lose your mind. Borderlands was always about shitty jokes but it looks like BL3 pushes the envelope.

Yeah I like the characters in the first two but Ive felt like this since the frist time I play Boringlands. Its fucking dull the most I can play it is like one quest its all just a huge fucking chore.

Dunno when review codes went out, but they probably didn't have enough time to do 2 full playthroughs with the same character at the pace they tend to play. Either that or endgame stuff is still under embargo.

Yeah, the DLC was pretty awful. I played 1 again for the first time in a long time when the remaster came out, and the massive shift in writing when you start the DLC is really jarring. I wonder what the hell happened.
