Going to play Dark Souls 1 for the first time
Ni
Have fun.
Stop playing and play a good game.
gg
Yeah, here's $5. Have fun.
Don't put points in resistance. It's a completely unnecessary stat. (seriously, don't)
Put all your points into resistance.

This
git gud scrub
What's a good game?
Anything not cuck souls or cuck souls related.
make sure you pump resistance and vit until they are about 25 and get str/dex to 15 minimum
Learn to roll correctly
The well at Firelink hides a really awesome lightning katana. If you time your jump just right, you can get in.
The Drake Sword looks like a glorious weapon when you first get it. It's a trap. It's usefulness falls off hard before the halfway point.
Resistance is a pointless stat that doesn't even work
Poise can save your life. It can also kill you if you're not careful.
Based
Cringe
Cant you pc fags beat a single game without asking console chads for tips? Make sure to also look up boss tutorials like the tranny you are
If you find yourself fighting people who don't seem to take any damage, that's the game telling you, you went the wrong way.
Also upgrade your weapons to upgrade your damage, use most of your points in endurance.
As this user said resistance is pointless. Also you shouldn't go the the spooky cave first, the best starting path is the bridge to your right. And you should really expore everything on your own and not use the wiki, that's a really big part of the experience.
just don't be a retard, take it slow and carefully or you'll eat shit. The game isn't as difficult as the stereotype makes it sound, it just takes a bit more patience and learning than the shit that generally gets released these days
just be yourself
It's not hard at all it's just full of autism for autistic children
Read all the messages. There are many helpful messages on the ground that will tell you which cliffs to jump off of to get secrets.
What class should I pick
completely irrelevant beyond your starting gear and stats which will quickly change. Even the most useful gift, thief's key, just lets you get to one or two places early. If you're a beginner Warrior or Knight will be the easiest though
this. the game has illusionary walls and invisible paths. if you are not confident you can land the jumps in the right spot, theres an item you can buy cheaply that is specifically for the purpose of throwing onto these invisible path.
only bother trying it if the message has a lot of votes, otherwise its just someone fucking around. never hurts to throw some of those colourful rocks just to make sure though
>resistance is useless
>resistance is the best
WHO TO TRUST
it's not the best. vit is the best. next best is str or dex, whichever you are focussing on
but resistance helps a LOT
Thief gets the master key automatically if you can’t decide
always choose pyro. it gives you the most stat freedom. it also starts you off with the most resistance, so you dont need to pump it as much
At what point did you realize it was the best game ever made, Yea Forums?
It's pretty good, but the best game ever made is Ape Escape 3.
start as warrior with master key
use the long sword and heater shield for the entire game
if you get any kind of black knight weapon, use that instead
Go in completely blind or else you will regret it.
my advice:
class doesn't matter unless you're minmaxing for pvp, pick whichever sounds best to you but you can always change what you have equipped
resistance sucks, don't level it
don't take the master key in your first playthrough because it fucks up progression and progression is one of the things DS1 does very well
GET THE FUCK OFF Yea Forums BEFORE PEOPLE RUIN THE GAME FOR YOU
the less you know going in, the better
Look at the capcuk defense force
>progression is one of the things DS1 does very well
Only if you take the Master Key.
Don't ever - EVER - put points in resistance. There's no reason.
MK is great in subsequent playthroughs because it lets you sequence break to get certain items early but it cheapens an initial playthrough
>using the rainbow stones
>not making leaps of faith
Does it hurt being such a faggot?
CUT DOWN THE DRAGON'S TAIL AT THE BRIDGE WITH ARROWS AND GET THE BEST WEAPON OF THE GAME ALSO FUCK RESISTANCE MEME NIGGERS
How? The strongest aspect of Dark Souls is its world design. The fact that there is no intended path is what makes it leagues better than all of the Souls games after it.
>THE BEST WEAPON OF THE GAME
>if you follow this user's advice, you will regret it
(I promise you)
*ignore the Kojimbo poster*
mainly because the back path into blighttown is way too easy and going in the "correct" way is a subjectively better experience for a blind playthrough
Or, someone could get stuck going in through The Depths, only to later find out that you can bypass half of it by going through Valley of the Drakes, leading to a memorable experience.
Learn to parry, it makes the game so much easier
spoiler text faggot, now he's not gonna discover shit
It's an eight year old game.
and this is a thread made by a guy that hasn't played it yet, I wouldn't spoiler anything in any other souls related thread but come on
>and this is a thread made by a guy that hasn't played it yet
Maybe he should play the game before making a thread about it, then.
>replying to the avatar fag
just ignore that autist
which is why I told him to get the fuck off of Yea Forums in my first post, but you could still try to be courteous
Solaire of astora will go mad and turn on you
>It's an eight year old game.
Lol what? Are you eight years old? Wtf does the age the game have to do with posting spoilers in OP's thread?
Not if you pay Quelaag's sister 30 Humanity and kill the Chaos Bug that infects him.
>resmastered
mistake
The Drake Sword shouldn't look like anything because you should be playing this game blind and figure shit out for yourself and the chances op would find it are slim
Don't put points in resistance.
Stats have a softcap around 35-40 points.
Discover the game by yourself. Don't ever use a guide, do it only if you really can't do any progress against a boss.
>too scared to name a game because he'll get roasted
Wuss
