I'm surprised how rarely people bring up Scorpion/Sub Zero for Smash, they're iconic fighting game characters.

Humanoids think MK characters are too violent for Smash

They are pretty iconic, but MK has a very different tone from Smash. Still, Ridley's trailer was pretty brutal in a cartooney way so if they downplay the violence of their moves similar to MKvDC then it should be ok. Completely unrelated, a lot of MK's animations/stances look kinda shit so I wonder how they'd look in Smash. Personally I'd rather have Sub than Scorp, but both of them are alright.

They can easily remove the blood and gore though.
I probably lean a little more towards Scorpion but I really like the freeze effect in smash which Sub would have.

Scorpion worked in Injustice and NBA
Toasty could work as a Final Smash minus the gore and instead just cause an explosion

Personally, I'd want Liu Kang over Scorpion or Subzero, but honestly, I'd be happy with any MK character getting in. It's hard for me to even choose between Scorp and Sub. I feel like Subzero would have a more interesting moveset, but Scorpion has some iconic shit that would be cool to see in Smash.

MK has shit gameplay, people only buy it for the cinematic shit and drop it when the cinematics start to get repetative. It's gameplay getting marginally better doesn't help it when most other fightering game sequels also get better and they already had much better gameplay to begin with.

Currently, MK is a cancer that's killing the fighting game genre. Instead of all the casuals experimenting with different fighting games all of them just flock to MK because of all it's cinematic bullshit, then drop the game when they get bored of the cinematics. MK sold 18 million copies this gen, Tekken (the closest competitor) only sold 4 despite it being a better game in pretty much every regard.

with so many ninjas you would think that MK actually appreciates ninjas, but the devs didn't even fucking know that ninjas are a Japanese thing and not a general Asian thing. They only tried to clear this in Sub Zero Mythologies when they started stating how Sub Zero really isn't a ninja because he is chinese and Scorpion is Japanese so he is a ninja. Tho they still generalize all of them as ninjas to this day in most context. MK has no appreciation to Asian cultures despite most of the games taking place there.

They're based loosely on Eastern mythos and intended to be parodies not unlike the cheesy Chinese action movies that came out during the timeframe of MK's beginnings.

Also, there are plenty of unique characters that standout beyond Johnny Cage, like the robos, a crook with laser vision, a giant with 4 arms, a centaur, a corpse, etc.

MK11 is, in fact, shit, and way more unbalanced than MKX pre patch. Staggers, 50/50 grabs, D2 mashing, poke spamming, retarded fatal blows, knock back on projectiles, etc. Then you have Liu Kang who's in a tier of his own. You have to be a braindead ape to think this game takes any skill.
I can't speak for PS4, but the game is already dead on Xbox. I'm constantly getting matched up with the same players, nobody is in the rooms, and everybody declines and refuses to rematch in casual despite it being hard to find a match. Stop fanboying.
