Knowing UNI's netcode it could very function as a DDOS

What was his psn?

UNICLR demo was hard confirmed for Arc Revo, so hopefully the socal boys can make it out and get some time with it.

>heal juice

I'll see if I can clear my schedule to go.

Here I thought they dropped it too.
But apparently, they've got limited character variety for the builds too

Thought I should bring this up:

blog.us.playstation.com/2019/09/09/ps-stores-big-in-japan-sale-offers-savings-up-to-60/

UNIST is going to be on sale for $14.99 for PS4 and $11.99 for PS3 and Vita if any lurkers are interested in picking up the game at low prices.

I wish I had literally anything to stop you from just shielding your way out of my pressure

We can also advise anyone interested to wait out for the Black Friday PS+ deals too

>no bars with Clawz still
Man I see UNI netcode continues to be the same, always there to fuck up my experience as usual.

Dang, I made it first this time.

See you in little under 2 hours

It's not fair, how did Golden State have him, curry, and KD on the same team

That corner combo off grab looks nice hippie. I'll have to see if I can add that to my list of combos.

I only know the grab corner combo in the tutorial right now. 4B is looking more and more valuable every time I see Gordeau in action.

reminder to use down throw midscreen to get a combo

I don't even remember what corner throw combo I did.
It usually defaults to something like 4B > 22A > 5B > air series > 3C > 236AAA
But the 5B is finicky as always

Or be a cool guy and do the regular throw combo midscreen
>Land that 66C so rarely that I forget the air series even after I land it

Down throw? Does he have a particular throw I don't know about then? So far I only know his regular throw and command grab throw.

Sounds pretty nice though. Also that was a neat way to connect 623(B?) into B command grab.

Thanks for the notation. Yeah, I only really noticed the 4B starter into air series but if you can link 22A into 5B that sounds nice. Practiced a combo earlier from what I observed off a mirror Gord match where they did 6B > 22A > 2B and chained that with 4B into air series and mortal slide. Managed to get it to work pretty well though only in the corner.

Room full?

PC or PS? PS has 5 right now.

>Land that 66C so rarely that I forget the air series even after I land it
then your not a cool guy, just do down throw, it's so much easier
when gordeau does his normal throw, if you input down after, he drops the opponent in front of him instead of throwing them at the wall, making it much easier to combo off of midscreen.

Attached: untitled.png (600x676, 552K)

>Down throw
Mission mode shows this but you can hold 2 during a throw to drop your opponent right in front of you and you have the time to link a 5A into a really simple combo afterwards
>22A > 5B
That's a major link for Gord combos but it's character specific in midscreen instances

Sounds really convenient. Thanks for the advice!

Damn, shoulda grinded my 66b conversions more

That's pretty neat. So sometimes it's preferable to just jump out of 2(1)C instead of following up with 4B before the air series? Is it character-specific?

Anyone want to impart day one wisdom for a beginning Vatista player?
I'm a bit busy so I'm trying to get at least one of the combo missions down per day. I read in the Vatista FAQ that 4-1 is really good for explaining what Vatista is all about. I'm going to leave 3-4 to be up next for tomorrow.

Depends on the combo you want but I just got a lot more consistency with the first hit of 2C. I think it matters if you're trying to get a different ender to the combo instead of the regular 3C > 236AAA. 4B gives the opponent more air for some other route.

You're not completely new to charging right?
We happen to be missing some of our vat players to really give you advice

learn about how gems work and gem pressure. Learning that is the core of how to get good at vatista.

Guess I'll have to remember what works and what doesn't work in certain routes then. Appreciate the explanation m8.

If you're on PC Melk could help you out his Vat is really good and if you're on PSN Kita is our Vat who could impart some wisdom.

It's not like I have a berth of experience (all around or with charge characters) but I enjoy charges a great deal. I'll get used to the timings with practice, but I'm certainly having more fun with Vat than anyone else in the cast.
Even the negative edges aren't that bad, it just takes a little getting used to.
In Arcana Heart, I play Heart and enjoy messing around with Saki.
In Guilty Gear I play Sol and want to pick up Venom.
et cetera.
I'll pop into the thread every now and again to ask for advice and things and see if other Vatista players are here, but I can't really join the lobbies because they happen so late and my apartment still hasn't gotten back to me about installing an ethernet port in my room.
I don't want to subject anyone to shitty USB adapter wifi.

I always thought he only hammed up the gimmicky stuff whenever he was streaming.

Sei has been rare and Maiko even rarer these days.
Well that definitely makes us have to do a lot less explaining. I'm no Vat guy so I have no idea how applicable this YT guide I have in mind is but the mechanics haven't really changed while the combos might have. Have you at least looked at the 4-x combos to know what to expect? From my experience a lot of people struggle from the jump between 3-x and 4-x missions

1-3 I stop being a pussy and play with the Yea Forumsoys
4-6 play a random Touhou
7-9 roll again
0 next week I fix my sleeping schedule and learn how2draw

Bird a couple things.
Get used to using your 623A/B if you have the CS to make yourself safe. They come out really fast and can stuff someone trying to close the gap between your buttons and fireballs.
And if you want a damaging super ender, always go for 623C. And don't forget your 22X exist too, but then again, I think most of us are past the point of being tricked up by 22C
And I guess more j[C]?

Attached: DjzhWOUVsAUb4jg.jpg orig.jpg (860x1284, 118K)

pls not 0

It's looking like that's pretty tough, especially considering there's an entire section for "I can't do 4-1!" in the FAQ.
I'll probably do it the same way I do everything else: run it at 30% speed so I can get a good idea of what I'm doing, then when I can get it right, do it faster until I can do the combo at normal speed. So be it if it takes a day or it takes a month, It'll eventually click.

ggs PC lobby. Played real sloppily tonight.

623c leads to the best knockdown for pho bar none
the only reason you want to end in 214c is for corner carry (which is shit because they can air tech) or to burn out the cycle. oddly enough 214b delay 623c is just as good because hard knockdown and the ridiculous height they have to fall from

Attached: EDT8zOuU8AIRGHi.jpg (1080x1350, 129K)

GGs, I knew something was up. You were scaring me the whole time.

ggs, good to see ya

I need to pick up a sub who should I learn that people want to fight?

Attached: 1537733376903.jpg (4096x2404, 1.52M)

Yeah I try to use 623C as my ender a lot, usually just fudge the input. Using 623b in neutral more is definitely something I wanna do though, now that I'm more comfortable with the game I can focus on GRD more without panicing.
Is 214b better than 214a for a non-metered ender? I've been using a for the knockdown

Finally we have bars again. Did you change something or just sacrifice a goat to french bread/ASW?

What in god's fucking name is Orie's j[C]
Why is it a literal singularity of a hitbox

it really depends on the scenario and what you want out of it. you can run standard oki off of 214a but 214b let's you do trickier shit for a higher risk. if you want to burn time 214b 623c is the go to and it also is more consistent than 214a if you've got the character low because of late timing

Restarted again and spent some time doing other stuff in training mode.

Maybe she'll get a charged j.C in clr.

4 in PS lobby

Yeah, do 4-1. It's basically your core bnb. You can basically combo most hits into this.
As a general rule of thumb you want to be setting crystals and hiding charges within other inputs. Commonly your block strings will end in whiff 2A or 2C 2gem, which I think is -6. (e.g. 5[B] 5C 2C 2]B[) An alternative is to end your blockstring in A laser ([6]4A), which is -3. A ball ([4]6A) is plus and will let you keep your turn if your opponent doesn't do anything, but it has a gap that can be mashed. Most of the time you have to commit to how you want to end your block string before you even start, otherwise you won't have time to hold a charge.
jC and jB are good moves to go for a mixup. jC can be blocked mid, while jB must be blocked high. If you jump and hold 8 you can land and go into a 50/50 with either the overhead B drill ([8]2b) or the low 2C. You'll want a gem to protect you otherwise it can be mashed. Also, if they shield either of these hits then you can't cancel into drill.
66C is a very strong move. It goes fast and can even catch people in the air.
There's a lot more but I think this is a good start.

Neither does Kaguya

I have bad news to break to you.
This game's netcode has enough trouble for people playing across the states, South America has no chance.

More like trouble across counties.

the good news is that last I saw, SA had a pretty decent scene growing so you might be able to find games with them on discord

It's still fine for me. Its more about whatever your frame delay is anyway, bars can be deceptive. But coming from SA your odds are grim

I get better connections with my German friend than my Canadian friends sometimes from EC.

There are many Eltinums all with there own style. I think Senaru and Magents are the most flashy. Muan focus on Frame traps. Shaq and KFL are a mix bag.

Muan (Jp)

Magnets (NA)
Shaquille (NA)
KFL (NA)

my post was asking for routes since the eltnum discord doc is severely limited and watching matches just to transcribe combos is boring

Does that discord have anything for maining a character?

it does, the combo doc is just severely out of date

>The empty assault into grab

Attached: 1567294912784.jpg (1024x803, 64K)

why

The other Eltinum that plays in the lobby uses the more practical routes like her j.2B (ic) and/or 421B > Shot > 5B > 3B > Shot stuff. He also has the practical corner routes too. I just use the basic stuff like 2C > j.C (ic) > j.2B (whiff) > 5B > etc .Therefore his combos do about 10% - 20% more damage.

just gotta mash harder my man

GGs. I didn't know you played Yuzu.

It's mostly hitting the 66c after the ic2b that trips me up. Doing the ic5c route is just easier, but I Iike the flexibility of the 66c routes more. And the damage. But I wanna get better overall before I worry about top level damage.

Just for you, phrumpf

I'm new to this game but I don't think someone is going to use 66c as an starter, it's like -10 on block iirc.
just keep practicing, I literally spent 2+ weeks trying to learn how to connect 623B with 66B(1) but I still drop it due to nerves/lag

GGs, Angel.

Phonon, 4b j.ic5c j.ic2b 66c 623b 66b etc. As opposed to doing an ic5c after the ic2b.

just break it into pieces. practice buffering the 66c out of j2[b] and practice the 66c 623b 66b(1) link individually since timing doesn't change outside of combos.

Yeah, that's my only real hold up. I can do everything before and after the 66c, just having trouble with the timing/buffer of the 66c itself. I should probably try it on a lower speed.

GG's Gon. Thanks for the matches.

GGs everyone

GGs, you dumpstered me today, but I felt like I got a little better about shielding overall.

Attached: 1566264136180.png (960x720, 866K)

GGs guys

you can pretty much start your dash input as soon as j2[b] lands. it's honestly kinda odd that buffered 66c is the part you're hung up on since the 623b 66b(1) link usually trips people up.

if you want a real fun route try
66b j236a jb j2[b] 66c 623b 5b 4b j2[b] 5[c] 3c 236[b] 2c 214xx

GGs everyone. Felt like some actual progress finally taking rounds off everyone semi-consistently. Hopefully some games soon enough. Was there anything glaringly wrong I should fix ASAP? Besides ill-advised counterpokes.
Oh you can? Don't know why I never tried but that should help. I can do the 623b 66b part like 40% of the time but I've hardly put time in it, for obvious reasons. May give that route a go for fun, looks neat.

Attached: IMG_20190910_033402.jpg (1610x2105, 249K)

Still mostly ill-advised counterpokes, but that will be less of a problem once you get used to being pressured.
Aside from that, you're dropping a lot of combo enders

Yeah I think it's a combination of nerves and just general execution. Need to get a routine going for this game. I feel like I'm getting pressure offensively but not really taking advantage of any respect. More assaults? More staggers? Or am I doing it about right? I know Phonon generally isn't considered a mixup heavy character but it feels lacking even so.

I want to say it's optimal for 66b midscreen starter outside of characters like akat and wag where you can't do 5[c] 3c 236[b] and lose damage. The corner carry is really good too. I still don't use that route in real matches yet. The timing on 5b 4b j2[b] 5[c] is incredibly finicky and I'm still trying to figure out what makes it consistent. tk fireball routes and CH j2[b] routes are lots of fun as well

Attached: 1552799994342.png (178x178, 56K)

I definitely meed to nail any form of a 66b starter, missed like 4 tonight. Yeah I played with some of the tk fireball routes. They're really fun but still way off my radar. I appreciate the help though, maybe I'll try for optimal sooner than I thought. Especially since I finally put significant time in to the game outside of the lobbies as of earlier today.
