probably too much potential that it would be hard to represent him properly. MvC3 did it well because there is a couple dozen different inputs you could do and smash has a limited amount. maybe if they could include style switching somehow to give him a few movesets in one

he has more than enough moves to fit smash, but its very unlikely and I dont think he would really blend in, same goes for doomguy desu

not sure what that has to do with blending in. it had a major release this year which was successful. even getting his old games ported in switch

1 and 5 are the only possibilities. Sakurai usually goes for a character's classic look or their newest look. A game is only too new for the design to be used if it came out like just as they were developing the character, an example being Ryu. SF5 came out during the time they were developing S4 Ryu, so they used his SF4 look. In Ultimate he was changed to match his SF5 design more.

I hope it's 5 Dante but they'll probably just give us alts of 1/3/4/5 and give him his most basic moves: Rebellion, E&I, Shotgun, and gauntlets, with the very last changing depending on which alt you're using. I hope they incorporate Style switching somehow.

no. Not because of smashfags but because Dante has too much things he can do, that it would be impossible to add him to smash without limiting him, it would be a boring version of Dante.

i'm not sure how ultimate's ryu resembles 5 more? ken has his 2 look. which is the most iconic. snake has had a blend of 2 and 3's design. not his "classic" look. sakrurai pretty much goes for the most iconic look.
