So Greedfall is a game that takes many concepts that were great in other RPG's like the Witcher, but the problem is it isn't even close to the same quality as other well loved RPG's. I am not even trying to be elitist here. You will go this entire game not actually giving a shit about anything. You might believe the writing and gameplay gets better later, and then 5 hours later you're STILL wondering if the game gets better. Spoiler alert, it doesn't.
In concept it's a good game, "I want a game that lets you explore a world, do lockpicking, stealth and have many ways to complete quests, be a mage, melee/ranged!" But the level design is low quality. You have to uncover mysteries, yet your map will guide you exactly where you need to go. Everything is made obvious to the player. Stealth portions are something a 5 year old could get past. This game is just mediocre. The combat is wack, character dialogue is wack. This is a game without any strengths.
Seems like a controversial game. It looks cool to me but a lot of people are saying negative things about it. I'll give it a pirate in the near future to determine if the dev deserves my money.
Blake Rivera
if it's a middling budget bioware type rpg where i can customize my appearance and romance some npcs i will probably play it and enjoy it
Brayden Diaz
>well-dressed swashbuckling lady Well shit, now I have to check it out.
Oliver Fisher
>like the witcher Fuck off, Witcher Is a shit RPG.
Ethan Young
The characters are very ugly actually. For the love of god please pirate it first so you don't waste your money. I can bet money you won't like it.
Don't let the visuals fool you. There is nothing impressive in its gameplay whether it's the combat, the writing or the level design. It's a mediocre game with above average visuals and it's tricking so many retards. And the fact that people say they hate the game, is causing Yea Forums's contrarian to say it's actually "good". I can bet money that you all will acknowledge it's hot shit by the end of this week. Mark my words. Yea Forums always tries to say the opposite of reddit
Nicholas Cruz
It's made by people who made Bound by flame, the fuck did you expect?
Hudson Adams
Contrarian shithead on Yea Forums I don't know how you live with yourself
Cooper Hall
the visuals aren't so hot either, the facial animations are Andromeda-tier
Chase Gray
If something entertained me for a week, it'd be a better track record than most games lately.
Nicholas Nguyen
why can't these guys get their shit together? how many bad games do they need to make before they can make some decent eurojank
Anthony Kelly
devs almost never get better, but they sure do get worse pretty often
Adrian Perry
You're right, but they been tricking people with their steam page and CGI trailers. There was a good damn reason we couldn't see unedited gameplay till close to release.
Once people open the game, they realize how ugly shit really is. Oh no, it won't entertain you for a week. It's just the game is new and Yea Forums are contrarians who will eat feces and try their hardest to find a good argument for this game. We have to wait till all the trolls actually try this game first. A lot of them haven't even played it, notice how you won't find a SINGLE poster writing up a list of things that are good about this game. The only people who say the game is good, can't even explain it cause they didn't try it.
Lucas Martinez
The fashion is what prompted me to actually purchase it.
Jonathan Watson
i have incredibly low standards for this style of game, i enjoyed dragon age 2, mass effect andromeda, inquisition.
The gear has stats & skills attached to it. You have to combine ugly gear that doesn't match or you will gimp yourself. It goes beyond some armor having 10x the stats of another armor. They have actual abilities attached to them. Like gear that increases your loot chance by 50% or gear that lets you lockpick. So expect to be ugly
Ethan Thompson
imagine caring about graphics
sorry you virgins want to justify your 2080 purchase
David Gutierrez
I have enjoyed those games also actually (I didn't like the fetch quests of inquisition but I liked the game overall). I DO NOT like greedfall. The reasons people hate those games is because of multiple bad things about them. Greedfall is worse in all aspects compared to those games. and unlike those games. Greedfall has bad combat to top it off.
Joseph Wright
if anything, the game slightly better than technomancer and bound by flame. so they are improving but just by a little bit. like really, small.
John Sanders
I played DA2 at least 4 times, maybe 5 but I might have blocked out the memories at that point
Greedfall ain't worth your time
Tyler Miller
>Greedfall has bad combat to top it off. why is it bad?
Parker Myers
technomancer was pretty fun for me, i like their flawed gem games. im not sure id want spiders to actually succeed in a massive way and lose their soul in the name of hype and profit. i just want them to succeed just enough to keep the gameplay going, stay ambitious, and maybe hire some better animators.
Caleb Hill
don't worry, the gameplay is shit too
Alexander Russell
Why the fuck do so many devs forget/neglect to put in all options for graphics. Motion blur and camera shake/bob make people sick damn it.
Luke Thomas
Anyone no-life a mage yet enough to know if mana management ever stops being dogshit?
Seriously hate feeling so mana starved and potion dependent. If I wanted to fall back on melee this much, I'd have just played a fucking warrior. Except the warrior's give you that annoying as hell weapon pop in..
Lincoln Stewart
I want them between DAO bioware and Stalker lvl of success.
Nathan Miller
>implying i care about stats I'm not playing Greedfall, I'm playing Fashionfall.
Henry Bell
i get that you are trying to do me a solid here and warn me off a bad game but you've actually made me curious to try it
Zachary Perez
Technomancer was actually quite okay Some flaws in the animations, but they have shoestring budget so they can't have mo-cap shit.
Other than this, they are indeed slightly improving each game. But by god they need to hire a good animator someday.
Juan Wilson
You gain like +500 mana through stat upgrades and one of the skills progressively increases manage and health regen out of battle so
Noah Bell
At first I was quite threw off by the animations But then I just started to get used with it, I can see myself having some enjoyment with the game.
Justin Green
This. Dragon's Dogma taught me prioritizing fashion over stats will make you get gud fast.
Ryder James
my biggest annoyance thus far is weapon pop-in

Jaxson Rogers
well excuse me for finding fault in something that ruins immersion
Henry Carter
Your choice, my warning is for people who don't have disposable income.
The main issue with the combat is it's too simple. In fact it's so simple a lot of skill upgrades are just "increases damage by 10%" "increase damage by 10%" "increase damage by 10%". There's no depth to it. You just swing your blade and right click to time for a counter/parry. You can play the entire game like this, with only 2 fucking buttons, no variety in combo setup or anything. No strategy, no anything really. You also have alchemy play where you can one hit kill entire groups of enemies, and you just run into a fight, throw a phial and the battle is over.
The combat has no depth man, it's wack and repetitive. Everything in this game is overpowered, the enemies are fucking weak.
Ryan Edwards
>Motion blur and camera shake/bob make people sick damn it.
imagine being a fragile baby to have such a thing make you sick
Ryder Kelly
motion blur just looks like shit
Thomas Cooper
>The combat has no depth man, it's wack and repetitive. Everything in this game is overpowered, the enemies are fucking weak.
i just wasted an hour torrenting this then oh well i guess ill just uninstall not gonna bother if the combat is like this
John Martinez
nigga you gay just wear your sisters dress
Kayden Long
Motion blur is ugly, also why mock people for something out of their control? People are born with problems that make them get sick from motion blur.
Owen Morales
am I the only one having fun?
Jayden Jenkins
The AI can't do anything against a player who isn't an idiot. For example there's the fury attack that costs meter. Where you do a spin slash. If you do normal > fury > normal > fury > normal > fury, the enemies get permanently stunlocked. If you drink a fury potion on top of this, you could just infinitely spam this, even if your gear is shit and you didn't level up melee. It just has them stunlocked and all you do is keep pressing the same 2 buttons. It's not just melee that's like this. All playstyles have some cheese that requires you to just press the same 2 buttons over and over.
Kevin Anderson
It's hardly the most pressing issue currently
Brayden Peterson
because as we all know we're only allowed to criticize one thing at a time
Leo Cook
I'm trying to figure out how to turn off motion blur/dof and that stupid camera shake first.
Kevin Green
And yet it still manages to be better than the dullest RPG of all time. Each attempt Obsidian makes to create their own universe rather than simply deconstruct a setting made by others, has been more disastrous than the last. Aside from the outdated gameplay and lifeless cities, Pillars of Eternity's only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of combat mechanics, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Sawyer vetoed the idea of making anything at all innovative or original; he made sure the game would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable nostalgia pandering to ageing Baldur's Gate fans. Pillars of Eternity might be anti-casual(or not), but it’s certainly the anti-Divinity series in its refusal of spontaneity, fun and excitement.
>a-at least the writing was good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the narrative was terrible. As I played, I noticed that every time I engaged in dialogue with an NPC the game presented me with a Wiki-page style infodump instead of anything resembling actual human conversation.
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time this was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Sawyer's mind is so governed by obsession with pointless minutiae of the lore that he has no other style of writing.
Later I read a lavish, loving review of Pillars of Eternity by the same David Gaider. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kiddies are playing Obsidian games at 17 or 18, then when they get older they will go on to enjoy Dragon Age II." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you play "Pillars of Eternity" you are, in fact, trained to shill for Bioware.
as someone who has never played an RPG besides skyrim when i was 16 years old what is a good RPG i should try since it seems Greedfall was a flop?
Connor Allen
So just another Spiders game then?
Carson Powell
based. french kino vs pop culture referencing american garbage
Carter Watson
>greedfall it needs a good name, too. this is a fucking shit name. even zoomers would be put off by this. i think the only demographic that might find it cool are literal boomers
Charles Gray
You're entitled to your opinion, you can say obsidian games have bad writing. But if you're going to say that greedfall is better, how about you focus on talking about the good things about greedfall without being vague. Give a full depth explanation, because so far every person that defends Greedfall hasn't explained their self yet. All they do is call the other side idiots. I learned how to spot you trolls, if you guys say a game is fun or good and refuse to explain then you're a troll.
Colton Miller
>2080
I bought my 2080 almost a year ago for $560 and it's lasted me. it also came with BF:V and Anthem, which I was going to buy to play with my friends. We dropped them a week in, both were embarrassing messes so I don't really count them as a pro in the purchase

*ahem* I think it’s fun as it activates my hidden inner fermons to feel sexual attraction towards this game which why I think it’s fun.
Oliver Gutierrez
I'm not him. But what do you even want from a RPG? Most RPG's fail in some aspects but are excellent in others. Some RPG's with the best writing have a bad combat system. Some RPG's are good at everything except the writing. You basically have to take a trade-off. What are you willing to ignore? Are you willing to ignore bad graphics? Bad writing? Bad combat? What do you want from a RPG
Camden Wilson
Let's be real for a second here, odds are they poured most of the effort into the first half of the game here. Now, if this is anything like their previous track records (See Technomancer or Mars logs). The first half will only be the good portion whereas the second half will start to deteriorate like bethesdas fallout 3 near the autistic ending. Let's face it all the promo material WAS the meat and flesh of the game. Why do you think they showed us mostly b-roll footage of the scripted sections? So, that way they could bank roll the game and possibly write it off with little patches. Odds are they knew getting it out the door this early would be a do or die, so they wouldn't have to compete. The towns are lifeless as hell, to the point it just gives me flashbacks to WoW where it's just NPC's in a static position 24/7.
Anyone know if there is a way to hide your hat/helmet? At least in dialogue?
Aaron Wright
>Are you willing to ignore bad graphics?
yes as long as the graphics aren't making the game experience feel dull.
>Some RPG's are good at everything except the writing.
I don't mind bad writing as long as the combat is fun.
I think what I want from and RPG is something with a somewhat captivating story but the gameplay has to be very interactive. I tried Dragons Dogma but I didn't enjoy it but something along that line combat wise would be fun enough for me
Benjamin Peterson
>I tried Dragons Dogma but I didn't enjoy it There's no hope for you, just kill yourself.
Oliver Price
theres no way dragons dogma is THAT good explain to me why im wrong for disliking the clunky camera, awful story, and annoying dialogue
Owen Ward
>I tried Dragons Dogma but I didn't enjoy it Very shilled games by Yea Forums but just as overrated
Andrew Diaz
You literally can't find a game with better combat in an arpg.
John Perez
Get out
Robert Price
ill try Dragons Dogma again if thats the case but from what i could gather from the first few hours seemed like it would get repetitive
Joseph Carter
I somehow get the feeling that this game will be similar to Dragon's Dogma insomuch as it'll be a janky ARPG full of flaws that will be more than the sum of it's parts to some people and completely unenjoyable to others.
Jason Bailey
Try the expansion stuff, it's basically just solid dungeoning.
Nolan Robinson
You're out of luck user since you're asking for real time combat. Witcher 3's combat isn't anything to write home about but everything else is done very well.
Joseph Ross
The day you start praising mediocrity you become the cancer that kills gaming Praising mediocrity is why Minecraft and Fortnnite took over Enjoy mediocrity all you want, but don't dare to claim it is something more that just that
>Made by a b-list studio who is notorious for good idea plagued by lack of budget and limited scope. >"Gotta say guys, the quality doesn't compare to the witcher."
No shit, nerd.
Asher Reed
DD is a slow burn. Ignore the notice board quests that say collect x amount of y and kill a amount of b and focus on the main quest. The game really gets going once you've unlocked some new skills and found some larger enemies. Also, I don't recommend it, but you can make your pawns shut up in the options menu.
Carson Long
Their first game in the green on Metacritic. It's a huge win for them, pulling themselves out of mediocrity.
Got some "Radagast the Brown" hair accessories goin' on there.
Jonathan Clark
She looks like a monkey, all she's missing is the beard. OOO OOO AAHH AHH!
Jordan Sanchez
You don't need a good budget to have good writing. This game doesn't have good writing or an option to remove bloom. You think you need a budget to disable bloom?
This game takes me back like 10 years. Feels so outdated. The only thing that stands out is the well acted and directed voice lines. Only thing that saves the game and keeps me going so far.
Caleb Sanchez
jokes on you i regularly play 18 years old games
Ryan Butler
Trying to play this with keyboard and mouse right now and the combat is indeed janky and unpleasant currently. Is it any better with a controller?
Grayson Martinez
Anyone get to the point where they are using twohanded blunt or two handed edged weapons yet? Is the stun and armor break component of blunt worth it?
The little wispy magic attack is pissing me off. I don't want to spend the entire game spamming M1 from a distance.
Owen Price
Can you use guns?
Blake Phillips
Cope, small developer, and already the characters shitting on Bioware's recent attempts. A complete upgrade from Technomancer. And I only just started
Landon Long
yes, but they require ammo to stop you from spamming them, I guess, they shoot way too damn fast and do too much damage for anything else to make sense
Nicholas Brooks
How do a tiny group of baguettes outdo NuBioware in RPG quality?
Jonathan Anderson
Fuck them for releasing very late in Europe. Not based for a European developer, to be honest.
Yes, a small company with a low budget absolutely shitting on an AAA in rpg elements is 100% a compliment, and an embarassing one for the AAA dev.
Isaac Long
>This game takes me back like 10 years I mean this sounds like a good thing
Mason White
looks and plays like shit, whoever preordered this turd is retarded LMAO
Dominic Gray
You are supposed to mix at least two disciplines. I am going muh guns and added magic so I can deal some damage before wasting my ammo. Likewise if you are a mage you need some points either in melee or technical to attack while your mana is low.
Alexander Diaz
Is this like a RPG with character customization and stuff or is it more like Gothic?

>why can't these guys get their shit together? how many bad games do they need to make before they can make some decent eurojank
The problem is that they're trying to make that is out of their league in terms of scale. They're only about 50 people and none of them are exceptionally talented either (like in terms of writing or something) so all they end up making is mediocrity or something that is very rough.
This is a make mistake a lot of clueless devs make, not just these guys.
>crack There was no Denuvo in the first place to warrant a crack.
Ian Scott
This game is their first decent game, though?
Thomas Evans
It's just the Valerieposter, he's been the resident autist for all Pathfinder threads. I guess he moved on.
Parker Hall
It doesn't matter if it's mediocre jank. People are starved for a new non-isometric western ARPG. It's been 3 years since Witcher 3's Blood & Wine and the new TES and Dragon Age are still a long ways off.
Connor Anderson
At least we had ELEX in the meantime. Thank g*d Piranha Bytes still knows how to make a fun eurojank openworld rpg

I've seen him do it with other smaller studio rpgs before

How much does charisma boost companions because they're fucking useless right now on Extreme They can holy someone's attention for like 10ish seconds then they drop dead. 5 secs if there are pistoleers or riflemen.
Ryder Gomez
>In isolation, judged only on the questing and combat, Greedfall is a remarkably playable bit of pulp. Whether it’s helping my companion solve the murder of a friend, outsmarting religious inquisitors, or fighting massive beasts, everything works fine. But it’s all done in the service of a setting and a narrative that is confused and often cowardly.
>There’s no polite way of saying it. Greedfall is kind of fucked up. Wrapping yourself in the pageantry of the 18th century means recreating the iconography of colonial expansion and native slaughter. It means emulating a time when supposedly great men failed to do what was morally right, opting instead to do what was politically expedient. To merely call this a tension of Greedfall does it a disservice. It’s not just a momentary tension. It’s the entire game.
>The visual language at play in this game harkens back to some vile shit. That isn’t to say that no art could use a setting like this, but it needs to be used with an awareness of what this setting actually means. Greedfall doesn’t demonstrate that level of care.
>The magical New World is mostly a playground for the player, not a means to examine complex issues. Greedfall wears a costume, perhaps not ignorant to what the costume means, but seemingly unwilling to do anything too powerful with it.
Hunter Barnes
Overpowered and cool abilities is what I like. How is the magic? Any "nuke" spells?
Landon Morgan
>unwilling to do anything too powerful with it >powerful kek that's a good sign.
Aaron Sullivan
No!
Jayden Sanchez
The... the tavern is in the middle of the city.
Justin Kelly
So? You've never seen a tunnel going underneath a city in some RPG? Or sewers for that matter?
Asher Butler
I love the aesthetic and it's funny that it makes snowflake shitheads so angry, but at the same time it does look relatively shallow. I really liked DA:O, never really enjoyed any Witchers, and overall it just doesn't stand out as a game I'd love for $50. I'll probably get it if it goes on sale though.
Jackson Reed
Just pirate it retard
Leo Miller
fuck this racist game. I thought we are better than that
This is retarded. But all critics are pretty much retarded these days, it's par for the course.
Honestly I felt the complete opposite, they went too far to bend over to make these people happy (it never works). Like the "natives" are all white people who look like they are from Wales. Meanwhile in what is supposed to be pseudo-Spain/British East India Company every second governor or ambassador or scientist is straight black. Like full on just stepped out of Africa black. "Oh these filthy savage natives don't speak anything but gibberish" ...nigga you black. You black as hell.
It's just immersion breaking, annoying, and dumb. Obviously they did it as a bone to people like this, but it's pointless, they can never be appeased.
Camden Mitchell
See, the thing is they actually have half a point: Colonial exploits of the 16th, 17th, and 18th century are almost always depicted in fiction as a good thing, and very little attention is paid to the harm it caused or depicting the socities and culture it destroyed. This actually does have some negative impacts IRL: most people are under the impression, that, say, the Aztec were a bunch of unga bunga tribesmen because of how they get depicted in fiction, which then forms a self-sustaining postive feedback loop with poor education.
The problem is SJWs, rather then actually DOING anything about it, just bitches and moans and chastises the game for dearing to pursue a specific artistic vision or not wanting to tackle that, instead of, say, encouraging games set in Ancient Aztec Mexico or Medivial India or in African mythology. In fact, if anything, SJWs PREVENT those games from being made because they scream MUH CULTURAL APPROPORIATION whenever they come up.
SJW's don't actually want to solve problems, they want to posture and virtue signal and look nice without actually putting the fucking effort into actually making anticolional games or games with diverse cultural themes and instead just want to add an extra black person or women in without actually spending the effort.
Christopher Wilson
missed to reply to this in
Evan Hall
What!
Ayden Scott
Have I ever seen a tunnel from a door underneath a tavern inside a city that goes to a tunnel that leads to an outdoor fighting arena in the forest away from the city? No. Not till no, no.
Dylan Hill
Colonialism did very shitty things, but on the whole it brought a lot more than it took away.
Bentley Adams
>he thinks the "virus found in crack" is a legit virus
I noticed as Yea Forums got infested with more and more newfriends and normalfriends people keep asking for specific sites or are too afraid to pirate. It can be explained if they live in a first world shithole but still too many people think pirating is some kind of a fairy tale or something criminal which is amusing.
Bentley Brooks
>the facial animations are Andromeda-tier Don't exaggerate
Yeah. That, and the fact that right now we've got more viral marketeers and actualy developers shilling their games on here so they'll try to lead people away from pirating.
I've been pirating since I was a kid and even though I now have the money to buy games, I still pirate. It's completely safe unless you enter some shady russian site and download a "GTA V torrent 100% legit 5mb size" that's only an .exe file

Yeah. They actually believe the false positive their antivirus find in a crack is legit. Fucking hilarious

sorry >he thinks abashazeer al bakairib and his roommates in the basement of their turkmenistani apartment would dedicate their time to obtaining and seeding a full price game and share it with the world out of the goodness of their hearts and no other reason
Asher Johnson
Perhaps for certain areas, such as where there was no established infanstructure and complex socities, such as Austarlia or Sub-Saharan Africa (and even then that's debatable) but in places like Mexico, Peru, etc where you had existing complex civilizations it was more or less just tearing down existing social, political, and cultural frameworks alongside causing mass instability, population losses, and exploitation without giving much that couldn't have been obtained via peaceful trade or more indirect imperialism.
The Aztec for example really weren't any more behind Europe at the the time then Japan was when it modernized. There's zero reason why Spain couldn't have just traded them iron, steel, gunpowder, horses, mules, cattle, ships, and crops in exchange for Mesoamerican goods and crops, forming a mutially benefificial relationship where Spain got monopolitic access to Mesoamerican trade while the Mesoamericans were able to modernize from their more or less Bronze age to Early Classical Antiquity (depending on the specific civilization) status to late-medivial.
Would have been kino, imagine Mexico with tons of surviving Aztec, Maya, Mixtec, etc archtecture and art motifs, like pic related; way more surviving historical records (though there's still a lot more left then people think even today and ; again the problem is lack of exposure to them and shit education) and literature, etc; like how Japan is today. Ancient Latin American stuff could be just as prevlenant in films, comics, and games as Japanese stuff is, etc.
Alright, I'm in pirating it, will buy if I like it after they put it on 70% off
Cooper Ross

Except that's exactly what Spain wanted to do until their envoys watched them carry out child sacrifices to which Aztec crowds roared and cheered, and then other tribes came to them and told them the Aztecs were a bunch of genocidal pricks.
Aiden Sanders
From watching videos, I can't understand how anyone can have fun with this game when the combat is so slow. Especially when you hit an enemy and there are like eight hundred frames of hit stun for both of you.
Luis Johnson
No, the problem is that colinization is not shown to be as problematic as it actually is.
Parker Ward
It only brought modern technology, at the cost of completely destroying non western cultures
Alexander Hughes
>noooo don't pirate or you'll get viruses and your pc will burn down that's what the big corporation man told me so

Ian Ward
Yes
Gavin Nelson
You have actual brain damage.
Noah Wright
does this game have a predetermined character or a created one? if predetermined, are they male or female?
Sebastian Jones
If we're talking about vydia it's pretty simple. Don't download from unknown release groups and don't download from places that are suspicious. That's literally it.
Hudson Clark
It brought a whole lot for the people that were colonizing but overall most of the colonized people got fucked over which is usually the case when a different nation plunders another for resources. That's not to say that colonizing isn't some black and white issue but it's disingenuous to say that it truly benefited anyone other than the country perpetuating it.

Pretty much. If you go to a standard tpb/rarbg shit you're not gonna get fucked unless you think an .exe file with 1 seed and weighing 10mb is actually a full game released in [current year]

>Except that's exactly what Spain wanted to do until
Sort of, yes, Spain's intial intent with the American mainland was much more hands off.
>until their envoys watched them carry out child sacrifices to which Aztec crowds roared and cheered, and then other tribes came to them and told them the Aztecs were a bunch of genocidal pricks.
No, not at all.
It's 4AM and I have a doctor's appointment in 5 hours, so i'm not gonna type a complete brand new explanation up, but tl;dr
>There weren't "other tribes", the region was almost entirely state socities in towns and cities and rural depedencies around them, and that had been the case for almost 1500 years by that point
>The Aztec empire left their conquered cities alone as long as they paid annual tribute of economic goods (not people), they weren't raided or enslaved for sacrifices.
>The various city-states and kingdoms that aided the Spanish did so moreso out of geopolitical oppourtinism since due to the aformentioned hands off political system cities and towns had their own interests and ambitions and used each other and the spanoish once they showed up to take out their rivals
>Spain/Cortes doing what they did had nothing to do with alturisim to help Aztec-controlled cities, but rather Cortes was literally commiting treason and acting against Spain's wishes to do trade with him wanting to conquer various cities for gold and glory, it was only after his endless flukes and taking out the Aztec captial and netting their tributaries sending spain their shit now that spain's greedboner got activiated
>your description of sacrifices is also totally off but i'm running out of space so just see the below links

I can understand why they did it, racial shit is a far more messy subject and if a writer doesn't have the skill to handle it then they shouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. It's a fantasy setting so it makes more sense they would want to go for something a little more broad like culture vs. culture, it also gives them more wiggle room to tackle different perspectives so not having nations be racially homogeneous isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. It certainly doesn't irk me as much as when they pull that shit with historical settings in the name of diversity.
Joseph Bailey
Nobody is actually talking about cultural appropriation here though

Basically I mostly go to rarbg nowadays and they've been around for forever.
Colton Davis
>Mexico, Peru, etc where you had existing complex civilizations
Oh my god. They didn't have the wheel sir. THE WHEEL. It's like the first thing you discover in a game of Civ.
Acting like these fucking dumb murderous savages were roughly equivalent with Europeans is so incredibly insanely wrong that I would say you were trolling except I've talked to enough of your ilk to know that you actually meant it, you are just insane.
We dragged them kicking and screaming out of the deepest savagery and animal ignorance, and now fools like you want to set up some revisionist history for a world that never existed. There were no noble savages sir, Hollywood lied to you, there were only savages.
Liam Butler
Yeah, same. Never burned myself on a torrent from rarbg so far and I've been using it for quite a while. Not sure what happened to kickasstorrents but it used to be somewhat decent too, tpb sometimes goes down randomly and rarbg just stays up and is very stable.

I'd say they're even worse than Andromeda if we're being honest, the lip syncing is atrocious and the faces move extremely weird. I'm willing to give them a pass though compared to Andromeda because Greedfall isn't some AAA game with a bloated budget and workforce so they're allowed to have a few cracks show without the whole thing breaking like Andromeda did.
Justin Reed
>review the story without reviewing any part of the gameplay It's a shit review by any standard.
Charles Bell
you're the contrarian if you think witcher is an actual rpg
Jaxon Butler
They did have the wheel, they just didn't use it for transport on account of not having suitable beasts of burden.
Landon Bennett
First impressions, not a review.
Jaxon Cox
It's a first impressions article about a specific aspect of the game you clown
Jayden Morris
At this point in my life pirating simply takes less time than buying a game.
>find a torrent >download, install, copy crack (sometimes the installer already has an option to do so) >play the game, usually with some preorder bonuses/"exclusive content"
Ethan Ortiz
Is this a pasta or are you really this much of a caricature
Jonathan Turner
even though it isnt a AAA game, its still no excuse for the bad lip sync. half life 2 achieved good lip sync and facial expression and thats a game from 2004.
Anthony Ramirez
>buy the game >download >play the game Not sure how it's longer. You didn't even need to find the game until EGS came and fucked everything up.
Jack Foster
What I don't understand is that often on Yea Forums you have these fitgirl autism threads that hit bump limit but I only found out who that was here. Literally never even heard of him before as I don't bother with repacks it's not the 2000's anymore you can have decent internet.
Ethan Wood
whoops, forgot a
"see pic for the timeline of Mesoamerican history to see how pretty much the whole region were state socities and civilizations since 200AD or so"
towards the end
I can vouch for expeditions conquistador being great. It falls for the "dude they were jusr savages lmao" meme quite a bit but I imagine that's not a downside to you anons and if you want a game where you can smite heathens and plunder shit for gold it's exactly what you want. You even get unique events based on the specific characteristics of the party members you choose. Like if you have a dude with you who is particularlyt lustful he might try to rape a woman and you need to decide how to handle the situation, etc.
It's a neat game. Shit like Kotaku or Polygon or whatever might have an arguable point that it perpetuates misinfo about historical conquests and civilizations, but the solution isn't to shame and ban games like that, it's to encourage games with other perspectives too.
You have no fucking clue what you are talking about dude. There's absolutely retarded chicanos and shit who think THEY DINDU NUFFIN THEY WERE ONE WITH NATURE, THEY NEVER WENT TO WAR, SACRFICE IS JUST SPANISH PROPOGANDA etc but you aren't any less moronic then them.
>Wheels They had wheels, see pic, they just didn't use them for transportation because they had no animals to pull carts with. Before you go "b-but wheelbarrows", the sumerians, egyptians, babyloians, shang and zhou dyansties, minoans, myceans, and greeks never invented the wheelbarro either
>sacrificing 1 in 5 people >sacrifincg 250,000 people per year
Both of these are bullshit figures that aren't supported by any actual archeological evidence, comparative analysis of different sources, or basic math. If you actually put the work into doing some research instead of just taking shit on wikipedia at face value maybe you'd realize that.

>Oh my god. They didn't have the wheel sir. THE WHEEL Oh fuck off /pol/, they didn't use wheeled tools because it wasn't fucking practical for living on a steeply mountainous area with no real beasts of burden. It's not like they didn't have other inventions of note, Inca architecture is still considered a marvel to this day.

How is it not longer? >make an account on one of the platforms (steam/uplay/epic/origin) >make a payment with your credit card that the platform has now the info of >download the game >download a day 1 patch >turn the game on >you just have the "base game" for 60$ and need to pay more for "starter packages" "exclusive content" "preorder bonuses" and other bullshit >some games even require you to be always online on the platform too, so no playing when your internet goes out/you're on a road trip and want to play something in the meantime
Dominic Ward
The Aztec civilization died because the unified cities were loosened, the culture never died but was retrofitted with Spanish culture, and less than 10% of Aztec people died, the rest actively favored white men due to status and wealth, and the men simply intermixed later with the interracial people.
Spain responded as aggressively as it did in response to the Aztec reaction to Spain landing in south America, and forcefully ended Aztec sacrificial ceremonies killing 1% of the entire population of every city once a year. Hell the Aztec warriors often deliberately left conquered cities to the Spanish so they had a steady supply of people to sacrifice, they never had any unified efforts to reconquer anything. The tripple alliance was a brutal dictatorship founded on religious conquest, which is why Spain had to endlessly kill small groups of warriors which quickly raked up death counts, they just kept coming back for war. The tripple alliance dictatorship exploited more people and y far worse means than the Spanish ever could, which is why so many people sided with Cortez to try and reclaim their cities and villages from aggressive century long rule.

NO DUDE DON'T YOU GET IT THEY DIDN'T FOLLOW THE CIV TECH TREE

Not everyone lives in a first world country with quick internet. Some people live in shitholes while having a decent pc, their internet might be shit because of how remote the place is. In my hometown the max my house can get is 10mb/s, so there's that. Then again I got used to leaving my pc on for the night to wake up with the game downloaded
Samuel Jones
That's because Valve invested heavily into their facial animation tech at the time, alongside physics. It is baked into their engine. I don't know why more devs (especially AA RPG devs) don't use Source, if just for that perk.
Zachary Cox
>make an account If you're going to pull shit like that you also have to install a torrent client the first time dummy, and an internet browser. Some games had installs of steam with them.
>the platform has now the info of You can choose to have them not remember your details, it's what I do.
>download the game >download a day 1 patch You'd have to do this with a torrent.
>need to pay more for "starter packages" "exclusive content" "preorder bonuses" and other bullshit That's a completely different argument entirely and would have been done in tandem with the previous steps if we're talking about how long each process takes.
>some games even require you to be always online on the platform too Yeah that's bullshit. Not going to defend that.
Again, not sure why you think the torrenting process is any faster.
Tyler Bell
>You can choose to have them not remember your details, it's what I do. Good goyim, when you click "no" we definitely won't steal your information for our own gain, no-no
>yes goyim, download the "safe" torrent. No the extra cpu usage is the game! Stop looking at your network traffic and get back to your fetch quest!
Jaxon Evans
Torrenting is not faster as you have to install the game later that's for sure. Then there's also the fact that you won't be downloading new releases with max speed.
Aiden Bennett
You're not that guy and you're still clueless.
Angel Long
This game just proves how powerful the over-hyped advertising/marketing can be these day's to get the goys to pay out only to receive a have-assed and mediocre experience.

cont:
The 1 in 5 figure (which is actually speffically 1 in 5 kids in Tenochtitlan) is a claim made by Fernando Ixtlilxochitl. He was a decesedent of the Texcocoan royal family, who were bitter at the Tenochca royal family for Tenochtitlan eclipsiing Texcoco in political influence even though both were supposed to be on equally footing in their alliance.
As such, him and all of his writings have a strong pro-Texcoco, anti-Tenochtitlan bias. On top of claiming that 1 in 5 tenochca kids were sacrificed, he basically claims the Tenochca were barbarian savages, while the Texcocoans were refined intellectuals and that his ancestor Nezahualcoyotl, the most famous king of Texcoco, almost singlehandedly formed the Aztec Triple alliance, invented codes of laws,, rejected human sacrifice, and worshipped a singular monothestic god. ... when in reality, when coparing him with other sources, archeology, etc, it becomes apparent that Nezahualcoyotl was only a moderately important part of the formation of the Empire, totally sanctioned sacrifices; formal legal systems date back centuries prior; and Nezahualcoyotol got his education in the arts and sciences from attending royal academies in Tenochtitlan: So if the Tenochca were so barbaric, how'd that work?.
Point being, It's stupid to take Fernando Ixtlilxochitl's claims at face value especially in relation to him demonzing the Tenochca and glorfying the Texcocan's. Not that he's useless as a source (Nezuahualcoyotl WAS a polymath, making both poetry and designing waterworks systems; and there's less hyperbolized sterotypes of the Mexica being more martially focused and Texcoco being more artsy in other sources) , but you need to, again, compare your sources. There's an entire book breaking down Fernando Ixtlilxochitl's inflated accounts and whitewashing of Texcocoan history called "The Allure of Nezahualcoyotl", check it out.
2/3, need one more, after the next post i'm going to bed.
Christian Cruz
This. It's basically cheating to compare anything to Source games. Fucking vtmb has facial animations that still surpass a lot of modern AAA games where as the rest of the game is jank city.
Elijah Lee
Yeah this would be lauded as a 10/10 masterpiece if they had a marketing budget. I'm glad it all went toward making a good game instead, though.
Luke Sanders
So who's your waifu ingame?
Samuel Jackson
Studio behind it is Spiders. People who made bound by flame, technomancer and of orcs and men. It's published by focus. Greedfall has markings of grade A Eurojank RPG and I don't get how people expected anything different.
Evan Bennett
This game looks fun but I also hear it's shitty and gank. What do I do? Make my decisions for me please.
I've played those games and I can safely say >Bound by flame 4/10 at most. REALLY fucking janky and I'm usually resistant to eurojank but couldn't finish the game because of it. >Technomancer Pretty good, really. Continuation of Mars:War Logs I think, had lots of fun in the game and kind of wish they made another one. >Of orcs and men Tried, didn't get far but seemed like a nice concept. Very janky, though.
I'm downloading greedfall right now and I hope they learned something from their previous titles
Hunter Carter
Honestly, so far everything except facial animations remind me of Mass Effect trilogy quality level. It is pretty dated compared to, say, Witcher 3, but it's serviceable in the face of absence of better quality analogues. The closes one is Outer Worlds, which releases in October, but that's only for EGS and Xbox GamePass/store.
James Lee
Why were people excited for a game developed by the guys that made Bound By Shame?
Jason Clark
I never said anything about Spain being good or civil, and I don't go to /pol/ and pretty much predate this website's sudden shift to far-right extremism by half a decade. Any way when most historians have moved on from shit like calling the crusades Christianity vs Islam, or reject the idea that Germans weren't as subjugated to brutal Nazi rule as the rest of western Europe, pretending like the Aztecs were suddenly the victims of brutal colonial rule like the Belgian Congo or some shit is just plain wrong. Subjugating a peoples to your rule and exploiting them by taking advantage of their current state is very wrong, but the same principle goes for the tripple alliance subjugating tribes to what is pretty much the same thing.
Hudson James
>but that's only for EGS and Xbox GamePass/store. A day 1 pirate you mean
Dylan Allen
Well, yes, essentially.
Ian Robinson
Man I actually really liked Bound By Flame. it was real harsh at the end but I finished it once. I actually felt bad for the characters in that game, except the even prince, what a shitty voice actor jesus christ. Skeleton bro was a bro until the end.

The 250,000 figure meanwhile comes from Harner, (citing an even sketchier, older source), who is widely discredited
If you've ever heard the claim that sacrifice was a population control method and/or cannablism was done to make up for a protein deficiency, that was his theory. It's bullshit because in his research justifying the potein deficiency even being a thing, he basically totally knew jack shit what he was talking about and was more or less assuming that just becausr the Mesoamericans didn't have cattle or pigs they had no protein sources; ignoring actual mesoamerican dietary practices which involved legumes/beans, game meat, fish, insects, and protein rich algae. The Mesoamerican diet would have been startch heavy due to the over-reliance on maize, but they weren't lacking other nutrients. Furthermore, Cannibalism wasn't even done on a massive commercial scale and was limited to limited ritualistic occurrences; and it would have been totally inefficient because if you have a protein-lacking populace, using people to provide protein causes you to have way more of an input then you'd get output, it's totally unsustainable as a protein source; and the Valley of Mexico, the core of the Aztec Empire, had been having huge population GROWTHS, not declines, and the Valley of Mexico was still onlyt at half it's carrying capacity given aztec farming methods.
I don't have time to type an explanation, but archeology indicates that "thousands" were only sacrificed over the course of many years, maybe decades; see the link inIf you are legitimately interested in learning more about this shit, feel free to email me at [email protected].

I'm in murica rather then eastern europe (though my family is from there), so I know that feel., I've been lucky enough to go to 2 of the largest exhibits on Mesoamerican art in the US though in New York and Arizona in the past 2 years, being Golden Kingdoms and City of Water, City of Fire.
There's another mesoameriaboo I exchange resources with who also happened to go who did two writups on the exhibits with photos here imgur.com/gallery/0PwtEf9 and here imgur.com/gallery/0FhNGDw , you should check them out and message the guy on top of (or for ) instead of emailing me, since he can answer shit too and I can speak through him

if you don't wanna email, you can try to message that guy on imgur and he can either answer shit for you (just link him this post of mine) or we three can figure something out from there
I'm not looking forward to any of those games, but I do really want to play Blasphemous and Ni no Kuni remastered if it's any good, but that won't set me back that much.

played the prologue and I like it so far not that it's a master piece or anything, but I'm excited for more the combat and controls are janky, as expected, wish the combat animations were more varied and the implementation of guns were more dynamic I have not tried magic because magic is gay I liked the visuals and don't think the graphics are "decade old" as some have been saying here, they're dated, but as to be expected by a mid budget game the story seems ok, wish there was a little more backstory on who I am and why people call me green blood and what the fuck is that shit on my face tho quests can be resolved in multiple ways and different options yield different rewards (noticed that I got more reputation by getting choosing an option instead of the other), not sure about non immediate effects of quest choices the skills are fun and really add to gameplay, lockpicking and intuiton seem really good all in all good game, it's fun

Niggers being lazy retards has nothing to do with Chinks. Europeans did the exact same thing as the Chinese are doing now which is the exploitation of natural resources since the local population is too retarded to extract this wealth themselves.
Difference is chinese actually interested in developing infrastructure as potential place for more chinks to live in, while whites were content with just siphoning resources. Which shit is worse is for you to judge.

The merchant in the first city that Kurt asks you to help him with? Probably just trying to extort more money from the nobles Also to be fair in civilized area just beating this shit out of figure belonging to groups/factions tend to make angry unless they are full blown bandits/corrupt guards

that's fucking great I never used the threaten option, so I don't know, but charisma and intuiton usually involve telling people how much of a noble I am and how crossing the noble houses is a bad idea
Hudson Mitchell
Could definitely be a good multi-playthrough game. 1st character will be the mage/neutral politician 2nd will be gun and sword Inquisitor (Saltzpyre) 3rd would be arab merchant/alchemy bomb lord
There is classes or you can fuck with customization?
Anthony Price
Some guy killed my by shooting through the walls. Amazing.
Julian Diaz
The start gives you 3 presets but at the end of the first island you get a respec stone and can change into whatever
Xavier Reed
>I tried Dragons Dogma did you drop it before reaching gran soren? The first hour or two before reaching it are a fucking slog but afterwards the game opens up greatly and becomes fun.
Jaxson Gutierrez
All of them viable? because want to make a trapper firearms
Dominic Kelly
Technical IS cute user! It IS cute user! (It is! It is!)
oh lord we summoned the valerie retard pack it up boys we're done for
Dylan Cruz
Pretty fun with your shadow dodge and magical punch once you level it up a bit mix in stasis CC and ranged all into one single weapon and its pretty strong
Dylan Collins
No!
Jaxon Anderson
Look at all of these disgusting incel virgins without a gf in real so they need to play as women on a computer game
Sebastian Rodriguez
I am male!
Jose Watson
>So Greedfall is a game that takes many concepts that were great in other RPG's like the Witcher, but the problem is it isn't even close to the same quality as other well loved RPG's. Sounds like another Prey situation.
Luis Evans
Can we kill natives or at least fuck them off or something? If I'm forced to help the natives gonna uninstall it at light speed.
Jacob Sanders
you are the natives
Isaiah Robinson
isn't the pc a half breed or something? you can choose any side freely
Is that why I cant spam my ranged attack anymore and just slow fire it?
Robert Rivera
Everything in this game is overpowered, the enemies are fucking weak.
sounds like fun. nothing is better than a simple hack&slay combat.
Kayden Taylor
I do NOT use Magic user I AM Technical wife scholar user BUT that DOES sound LIKE the BUG user! Do YOU have save BEFORE Dash power user! You SHOULD use save BEFORE Dash power UNTIL patch IF possible user! (You should! You should!)
It might be like Technomancer where you have crafting dialogue like other skills have dialogue
Ethan Rogers
>5 hours later you're STILL wondering if the game gets better. Spoiler alert, it doesn't.
Sounds like Witcher games to me.
Owen Bell
probably a good idea to get at least level 2 to get that recycling option, have barely any components for upgrades without it
Thomas Parker
We should buy the game and btfo those snowflakes am I right fellow 4channer
Austin Hughes
it doesnt promote it, it just doesnt outright condemn it
Justin Myers
I went with science just seems like better for role playing with a smart mage character
Hunter Diaz
Ok fuckers I have the game... I'm out
Charles Collins
God this sort of neo-indigious clothing you see here and there pisses me off so much, it's basically as dumb/inaccurate as people hobbling together a bunch of different inaccurate shit that fits their idea of what medieval europe was like but wasn't really for renaissance festivals
These are accurate depictions of Aztec noblewomen and the sorts of clothing they wore, though they'd probably also have their skin painted yellow.
The worst part about these people is that 99% of the time they are just as ignorant as /pol/tards about the cultures they are """defending"", to say nothing of the fact that they'll shit on any depictions or representations of the cultures with MUH CULTURAL APPROPRIATION no matter how well done it is and obviously think that any sort of representation of them getting colonized is inherently condoning it
I'm just pointing something out. No need to get all whiny up about it.
Adam Thompson
Top left/left half oif left side of the middle row shows civillian clothing; right half of left side of the middle row/the first guy on the right side of the middlr row shows royalty and 3 priests flanking them (note that the giant ass green headdress wasn't actually a worn headdress, and was either a ceremonial art piece or a battle standard/banner); the rest shows soldiers, with the top right and bottom right in particular having some outfits/soldiers from other but related (moreso then, say, the Maya) civilizations or different subgroups of the same culture (IE, Nahua, but not Mexica, the spoecific subgroup in Tenochtitlan and the people most people mean by "Aztec')
>Colonialism makes me uncomfortable when it isn't presented as something to explore from various sides, I like my view of colonialism the way it is thank you
Then why play the fucking game? Just go watch some Marxian documentary about the effects of colonialism on social life in various cultures subjugated to it that will not handle the subject from various perspectives, and doesn't need you to ponder over things like morality and ethics because you already agree with those presented.
Jesus fuck, games SHOULD be divisive and delve into one or more subjects from a variety of perspectives, that's what makes it expansive and therefore makes it feel real.
I also love how this is basically the North American rot in art projected onto European art, which is still relatively OK with presenting offensive and taboo art in order to challenge people.
Also you bet your ass I'm going to deliberately be as gruesome to the native population in this game as I can possibly be, not because out of some autistic racist projection or whatever else, I just really want the game to bite back for my actions considered normal and even good in this game's world.
>Jesus fuck, games SHOULD be divisive and delve into one or more subjects from a variety of perspectives, that's what makes it expansive and therefore makes it feel real.
In fairness, there are basically zero games that are actually set in the colionized socities, such as Aztec, Inca, Medivial India, africa, abbos in aus, etc.
But if there were they'd bitch about cultural appropriation
Easton Thompson
how's the game so far? does it deliver in allowing you to join and help the colonial forces culturally enrich the filthy natives?
Isaac Lopez
dude the internet is 90% shills now, this is a living hell, we need to kill jews
Caleb Price
The lighting in this game looks really good. Reminds me of AC Unity.
Xavier Kelly
Yes
Charles Adams
You keep saying that but I've literally never heard of this happening. That's not even what cultural appropriation means.
Evan Williams
Ok, so considering that natives have lighter skin than conquistadors, im considering to drop my Cortez run and play Colonel Kurtz instead. Good idea?
>tfw 41 minutes till torrent is done Soon, brothers, I will join you
Josiah Flores
>Elex has enemies following your over the entire map when you didn't even attack them and just want to be left alone >Greedfall resets enemies as soon as you leave their 10m x 10m intended combat zone
Elex was still really fun, though. I love the way PB makes games so I'm biased but despite the weird mix of factions I still enjoyed the game a lot
Kayden Barnes
My opinion so far, and I've bought the game:
1. Combat is better than the one in the Witcher 3, not in better mechanics, just a hell of a lot easier and less frustrating to me.
2. Story is pretty decent, it's a bit run of the mill, but it offers more than enough to make the game stand out and make it compelling.
3. The cities are so much more maneuverable than any Witcher or Dragon Age games, because they are compact, recognizable, and less focused on stunning you and more on ease.
4. The game doesn't look as sharp as it could be, the voice acting is serviceable which is already better than most similar games from 20-ish years ago anyway, the art direction could've been a lot more foreign and less repetitive. None of this is seriously hampering the game though.
Wouldn't say the game beats my GOTY (Ion Fury) so far, but it certainly beats every other game I've played this year so far.
The budget was like 5 million dollars. Witcher 3 budget was around 40 million. Yes Greedfall looks worse than Witcher and lacks the same polish. But after playing it a few hours, I'm still enjoying it.
Dominic Price
Combat is nothing at all like the Witcher. The Witcher is all about prep time, you read your beastiary, apply the right combination of cocotions and apply oils and whatnot on the appropriate sword and drink the appropriate potion and then you enter the fight.
The combat in this game is comparable to Assassins Creed.
Adrian Baker
Glad I pirated before buying. The combat is just too janky.
Hits like truck move slow. Lighting jump with it's upgrade sounds like a good addon
Colton Thomas
It's a shame lightning dash absolutely fucks ranged magic since it bugs it so you shoot 1 ball per second
Levi Wilson
It was. I actually think it spoil jank games for me because I can't really get into Greedfall and keep comparing the two games just to see that I like Elex more in every regard. Exploration was way better, quests more than >go to this marker and talk to the NPC >now go to this marker and talk to the NPC >now talk to this guy and pass the persuasion check or pay 100 gold >now get a certain item, you know which one because the loot location sparkles >here's a fight and congratulations! here's your 1000 xp and I liked the NPCs a lot more. So far the only thing this game does better is offering respec so you try every spec in one playthrough instead of having it faction locked like in Elex. I guess I'll play a bit more to see if it gets better.
Asher Carter
>western action rpg >combat is absolute dogshit Every time.
Owen Collins
TO ALL MAGIC BUILDS ITS THE SKILL RANGED SHADOW IMPACT THAT BREAKS RANGED MAGIC SPEED.
do you have pawns in this game or is it just you? For some reason I hate games where I have to control multiple people or even have other characters helping me fight
Dylan Rodriguez
Do yourself a favor and stop.
Grayson Thomas
the guy who got it early was complaining about that, it's supposed to boost your attack speed shortly after using it cool, two handed mace and magic user here I come I guess
Bentley Diaz
you can clearly see two empty healthbars
Sebastian Nelson
Well maybe they were just npcs along for the ride. Sometimes games have quests that will force helpers upon you when in reality most of the time it is just you alone
Lucas Reed
M8, twitter, game journos, etc got into a minor fit over mario having a poncho and sombrero in oddyssey; their eyes would pop out over a game actually set in in colonized cultures.
You can also look at the reaction to shadow of the tomb raider. Journalists shitting on it for using indigenous stuff. Some admittedly had some valid points about the overemphasis of sacrifice as a theme, but notqbly even the reporting amd articles in reference to thwt had tons of errors, with journalists mixing up mesoamerican, central american, and south american cultures, etc, prpcing they really didnt knowing what they were talkinh about.
Evan Brooks
Key word being minor
Michael Wilson
Gonna hold off on this one til it gets heavy patches and a discount. Admirable what Spiders managed to do but the game don't look too good
Austin James
Should I let the inquisition take the heretics bruhs?
So did Spiders outdone themselves this time? Or is it another flawed game?
Anthony Murphy
Holy shit you are desperate haha. The only people this vindictive are fat NEETs, your autism radiates from this post.
Sebastian Collins
Stuck in the past? This hasn't really been true since Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, Monster Hunter World.
Zachary Cruz
What even is Rog anymore? Stats? Astral Chain and Neir have stats. Equipment? Perks and talents? Levels? It is certainly not playing any roles thats for damn sure.
Is it really just one guy tho. Hes like mesoanon and pops up into every thread ever.
Elijah Ramirez
Goddamnit so much shit I need to skill. Currently on Intuition 2 (its the best money maker) and I want to go to Intuition 3 asap and then follow it up by Science 1 and 2. After that I can finally start looking into Vigor, Char, etc.
Blake Ortiz
Its a flawed eurojank game but better than technomancer They are getting there
Parker Richardson
Its another step forward from Technomancer which was a step forward from Bound By Flame. They are clearly learning and improving but they arent there yet.
Landon Sanders
Considering how many of their janky games i pirated, played and enjoyed i decided to buy this trash, probably wont even play it this year since I'm just playing FFXIV
Thats honestly fair, got some good fun out of technomancer but I think ky expectations were too high for this. And oh, boy where they low.
Kayden Long
its clearly intended for you to just choose a few and stick with them unless there is no level cap, then you can go backtrack all the shit you missed i guess
Gabriel Jackson
There is no level cap and if you are autistic enough to kill literally everything that moves you can max everything out.
Christian Bailey
I needed to reload a save to talk to him, strange maybe the npc got hooked in the cinematic.
Christian Rogers
My favorite was bound by flames just because I like the demon and the story was different, but all of the games are pretty much the same
Brayden Lee
Yeah because totally liked the demon and not because it gave you another chance to fuck morrigan.
Parker Gray
>was watching one review that pointed out how empty the city hub was that it was almost eerie >it's actually because everyone is DEAD makes sense
Are there also people playing the game or is it just you guys trying to figure out whether you should like it based on the opinion of people you disliked and reviewed this game?
Grayson Evans
never finished Bound By Flame, just stopped in the first town in the marsh. I thought the demon was pretty chill
>Come into thread late >A quarter of the thread is aztec-user doing his native-american dicksucking It's such a shame his autism cannot be stopped.
In any case I got what I wanted from this thread. >Native savages are "white people" >Civilized colonizers are "black people" Guess it's a pass from me.
Daniel Flores
Yeah, a minor but still notable fit over a literal non-issue; imagine how big it'd be over something somewhat substantial such as an entire game using indigenous themes and cultural influences.
probably the last one since my external hard drive fucked itself and I don't have access to my backup right now.
But yeah, as you can see, the sort of headdress-colar-tribal shit isn't at all accurate. Actual Aztec clothing is almost more mesopotamian or greciean, though there's still some use of feathers, collars, etc. The sterotype "mesoamerican" look moreso applies to the Maya male nobles (women wore blouses and stuff similar to aztec women) and even then it's hyperbolized from the actual thing a lot
>>was watching one review that pointed out how empty the city hub was that it was almost eerie
Journos... retards that think they are cool doing reviews playing 5 minutes.
Easton Evans
m8 I've made maybe 10-12 posts max in the thread out of 500, it's like 2% of the thread. Since it's especially tangential I went in less hard then I otherwise would have.
You really gonna act like me posting info from those 12 posts took away from what would have otherwise been insightful, productive conversation? Can you really say you think that with a straight face?
>It's such a shame his autism cannot be stopped.
If you have real input for how I can post in a way that's less disruptive or advice on how I can better limit myself to certain threads, etc, i'm all ears. shoot me an email at the email in and I promise you i'll give your advice some real thought as long as it's not dumb.
