I tried to read homesuck multiple times, I found it quite entertaining, but holy fucking shit, it feels absolutely bloated beyond the scope and has way too much timespace fuckery. Last time I stopped I was around page 3700 or so, how long is this shit? Is this the point where the story goes downhill? From what I read about, the author was cucked when he hired a company to make his game and because of this made a rushed ending or whatever.
It's definitely not like a manga or comic, the dialogues are cool, but at a certain point I wonder if it would had turned better if the author had an actual editor to guide and limit him to not bloat everything and make pages and more pages with fuckhuge pointless conversations between characters.

It's an all-or-nothing experience. The story is complicated in terms of plot, lore, and characterization. If it's the humor and writing is up your alley and you're the kind of person who enjoys conquering a story that's challenging to get into, you'll likely enjoy it. If not, you'll absolutely hate it. There are very few who just seem to have no strong opinion on it.
Even so, lots of people who like it think it starts going downhill about halfway through because of the characters becoming annoying and having nothing to do, even if the plot is still interesting.
It's hard to pin down a genre to describe it though. It's sort of an apocalyptic coming-of-age story, but also a strange "meta" modern-day creation myth (seriously) with elements of comedy and occasionally horror.
