How come Life is Strange was so big but absolutely no one is playing the sequel or at least talking about it?

For me, the turn off was the "keep moving" nature of the game. This prevents the game from having a consistent cast of characters and as a result the game introduces throwaway characters each episode. Compare that to the beautiful classroom and hallway scene in the first ten minutes of the first game where you meet 90% of the cast.

Also, Daniel being annoying and Sean being dull doesn't help things either. Again, unlike the sequel. Max and Chloe had great chemistry in LiS1.

And I'm not even going to elaborate on how dissappointing it was to not have powers for the protaganist but instead Daniel.

The whole episode was like this, do exactly what the game wants you to do, you can't go anywhere or do anything outside of the linear narrative.

My enjoyment of the first game is highly dependant on my emotional state when I first played it. I found myself able to relate to a lot of the emotions Chloe was dealing with which I think is what made it leave such an impression on me.

Fastforward to lis2, I've matured and moved past a lot of what I was going through with the first game and I can't relate with, and it's not because I have experienced similar or comparable events, it's because the brothers feel like they were written by someone who hasn't experienced anything the brothers are and it just comes off as fake. It also treads old ground with themes of coming of age and companionship which were done much better in the first game. I can't help but feel like I could be playing a game much closer to my heart.
