Not him, but I finished 1 and started 2. Both got repetitive fast. I mostly enjoyed 1 because of the varied gun types and interesting setting. A masher revolver is still probably one of my favorite weapons in any game. But then 2 didn't really go anywhere with the worldbuilding besides continuing the plot of the previous game and introducing a new bad guy; at the same time making most of the fun and/or unique weapon types only drop as legendaries.
There is just nothing there for me anymore. I could go through and grind for the neat weapons, but that's lame as hell. The manufacturer gimmicks in BL2 also stifled creativity in weapon design imo, with the wackiness already built-in most of them felt the same.
Finally, the enemies are not responsive. You either brought the right weapon and they get staggered, show elemental effects, and the HP bar melts, or you have a complete slog. There really isn't much of a satisfying in-between which makes for gunplay completely lacking in impact.
tl;dr BL2 is acceptable RPG, bad FPS

Pretty much this, the first one had some cringe moments, but nothing that ever detracted from the gameplay. The second one they cranked up the meme knob to 11, and of course it's all the unfunniest shit, I didn't laugh at any of the game's dialogue. I don't think I will be able to stomach the third game.
