Key resellers sell this old sack of shit for nearly 100 dollars. Who would buy it for that much and why?

expect it to go up
PC mongrels like to collect digital goods. Rule number one of PC gamin
It's the superior version.
Its the better version of the game and keys are no longer being produced
the difference is so small
>Collecting something digital.
I have never heard something so stupid in my life.
There are whole economies built around dumb shit like Harfort and CSGO, so believe it.
Sure if you like dogshit then that's fine dude
asshole
nobodys buying it
but they wont lower the price either because its no longer avaliable to purchase elsewhere
>started off by being like 20-30 on trading sites
>now up to over 100
people are clearly buying it
Remastered has DS3's stupid-ass weapon level restrictions, so multiplayer is even deader than it is in the original delisted version.
It "worked" in DS3 because it was a straight line (this was the game's biggest flaw, by far) but DS1 is very open and there's tons of sequence-breaking and you can progress in any number of ways. so restricting who you can connect with based on soul level AND weapon level just means you'll have fewer people you can potentially play with in every area.
Also, no PVP watchdog to boot cheaters, no DSfix and, at least at launch when I played it, it had some awful micro-stuttering that would occur every ~30 seconds that wasn't present in PTDE.
Remastered was essentially just DSFix coupled with gimped multiplayer for $20/40.
Everyone had their chance before it was delisted. Although I would rather it stayed up since it is superior to the cashgrab remaster
>PTDE was regularly on sale for $5, basically every sale
>Was not on sale for the last 2-3 sales before Remstered released
It all made sense later.
I mean there was an opportunity window of like nearly 7 years to snag PTD on a sale. I don't even know why the remaster exists it's dead
Just pirate it for free lmao
It exists because money
I doubt it flopped but It sold maybe 1m copies across all platforms according to data/estimates available, I'd wager it didn't sell as well as they had hoped. And even after they fucked the Switch version over by releasing it six months late it was still the second-best selling version of the game.
Can you play a pirated version online
As far as I know you cannot. Well mine cant.
if you pirate it on a ps3 then yes
And then you can play with the other 3 people that also pirated on PS3!
yes, you're better off playing demon's souls on the unofficial server
I was considering buying 10-20 copies of the game when it was last on sale but I didn't think they would jump in price that much.
I wish I'd listened to my inner jew back then.
>I was considering buying 10-20 copies of the game when it was last on sale but I didn't think they would jump in price that much.
It was last on sale long before Remastered had even been announced, so unless you can see into the future you had no reason to think the game was going to skyrocket in price.
Same reason Mafia 1 was selling for the same amount until they put it back on Steam lmao.
The only reason you'd want to actually PLAY PTDE is the lack of anti-cheat, so you can use whatever mods without the fear of getting banned. But the game requires like 8 mods to be playable anyway, so kinda moot point IMO.
Pulling off original version from steam was a super dick move. Not only Demastered version looks worse, but a ton of mods only work on the original version. They've basically flipped the bird to the community
Heads up, if you really want it and don't mind temporarily switching your Steam region to Russia you can get it for around $20 USD. RU/CIS Steam gift. I'm not a shill, so I won't post any links, but it's out there.
The most expensive ones are global Steam keys, those go for $160+, pretty insane IMO. You can buy like 10 remasters (on sale) for that price.
I'd flip the bird at dark souls faggots
>The only reason you'd want to actually PLAY PTDE is the lack of anti-cheat
see
Its not just the lack of useful mods/outside programs, the matchmaking systems fundamentally changed in Remastered, for the worse.
shit isn't even worth 5 dollars
Namco website had on sale for £5 last year. That’s when I bought my key.
I know, just saying. Maybe you want to play Daughters of Ash without having to switch to offline and/or family share your game to another Steam account. You can do that with PTDE, because no anti-cheat.
I just had a feeling they would release a remake before too long and that they might fuck it up in some ways.
PTDE online is truly dead by now. The remaster is pretty active, especially in the usual hotspots like the Oolacile Township where it's fucking impossible to kindle the goddamn bonfire without getting instantly invaded. Also you can actually do the Gravelord covenant without installing like 10 mods. It's pretty dumb to claim otherwise, the online is absolute much better in the remaster.
