Has a noteworthy game ever been leaked to play before it's release?

then nds had bunch of games leaked early but i don't remember if there was anything "noteworthy".

Most modern Nintendo games. I've played Pokemon Moon, Breath of the Wild, and Dragonball Fusions all weeks before release.

Some German dude haxxored Valve and stole an early build of HL2 that included a ton of cut content. Part of it was playable, so that counts.

I remember getting Skyward Sword a week or so early, installed it to my hacked Wii. Not as bad as some say.

It wasn't the full game but a good chunk of Deus Ex HR leaked way before release. Sad to say it was more than likely a PR move because of how bad the general word of mouth was on the game prior to release. Doubly sad that the parts not included in the leak were generally weaker content besides.

Used to happen all the time. Played Syphon Filter 3 before release day. Go look at some old nfo files for games from the early 2000's, see how many were marked as released before the official release date.

Sonic Advance 3 got leaked early I think it was from a press build which was essentially 1:1 to the final build with just one or two minor glitches and SEGA got pissed about it

I was playing far cry blood dragon before they even confirmed it was a game and not just a April fools joke vid.

There was a weird crack for UPlay itself around the time that granted you access to the entire library, which also had blood dragon already finished and uploaded to their servers, so you just downloaded it to your library and play it like normal.

I still have two copies on my uplay and somehow it never got banned.

Ubisoft has the worst luck with leaks and piracy, assassins creed brotherhood was also cracked and online for PC almost a week before it even released
